Mother of School Grass

“She’s my classmate. Rest assured, she is not my girlfriend.” Zhou Rui immediately understood Chai Meicen’s meaning. 

“She is pretty.”

“Alright, I will go and get an appointment for you. We will have a full-body scan done for you and see if there are any anomalies. Considering your current appearance, using her id card and age will be much easier than using yours. They won’t inspect the card too closely, and nothing will be found anyway. So, don’t worry too much, alright. First we will have your health checked to see if there are any issues. The other matters can be put off until later.”

After Chai Meicen gave a nod, Zhou Rui went and stood in the queue.

As she stood aside waiting for him, she gazed at her vague reflection on the glass door, and fell in a daze as she looked at her young appearance. 

At that time, she was the happiest she had ever been.and the subsequent incidents were yet to happen at that point in time.

They had to wait until noon for a few of the physical examination reports to come in.

Chai Meichen sat nearby and waited, while Zhou Rui went to return his classmate’s id card.

Once all the results came out, the two went to the doctor for their consultation.

Chai Meicen turned out to be very healthy and fit, with no problems whatsoever. This reassured the two greatly. 

Standing by the hospital doorway, Chai Meicen asked Zhou Rui, “If I suddenly go to a doctor and say that I have suddenly become younger, will they think that I have a psychological problem?”

“Most likely.”

“You say that but whom can I call now for assistance?”

“Uncle Hou.” Upon mentioning Hou Ranxi, a cryptic smile played on his lips, as a little ambiguity trickled into his tone. 

“Then let’s wait for him to come back. Who knows, maybe I might change back to my original appearance by tomorrow morning.”

“Okay.” The two took a cab and returned back home. As soon as  they got out of the car, Zhou Rui ran into his classmates. The two male classmates ran over and greeted him, “Brother Rui, I assumed you wouldn’t be able to go out anytime soon, so I specially bought something for you.”

Immediately after saying so, he opened the plastic bag in his hands, and pulled out two boxes of cigarettes. 

Zhou Rui’s face instantly turned dark and his heart let out a thunderous Thump.

Chai Meicen was aware that Zhou Rui would get involved in scuffles at the drop of a hat, and  wasn’t very good at studying. But she never knew that he also smoked.

The moment she saw the cigarettes, her brain erupted like a volcano. Rage overtook her rationale, as she raised her hand and slapped Zhou Rui on his back. 

That single slap sent Zhou Ruistaggering, he took two steps forward to stabilize himself.  

“What are you two even doing with these things? Quickly take them away. The smell of cigarettes annoys me the most.” Zhou Rui flapped his hands again and again. 

Only then did the two boys notice Chai Meicen’s presence. As soon as Chai Meicen’s figure fell into the eyes of a guy with comparatively shorter stature, his eyes gleamed with brightness.

Never had he seen such a stunningly beautiful girl. Besides, she seemed to have a pretty good relationship with Zhou Rui. Then, wouldn’t this be…a problem? 

“Yeah, yeah our brother Rui doesn’t smoke.” The boy also seemed to be pretty astute, for he promptly put the cigarettes back in and even explained to Chai Meicen, “Beauty, don’t misunderstand.”

Chai Meichen feigned a calm smile as she hauled Zhou Rui to the side and pinched his face, forcing Zhou Rui to open his mouth.

“Ouch, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts!” Zhou Rui’s facial features seemed to have been grabbed and pulled all at once. 

“Let me see if your teeth have turned yellow. You brat are surely capable, aren’t you? You even learned how to smoke a cigarette, huh?” Chai Meichen let go of Zhou Rui’s face. Her pair of round eyes seemed to be suffused with fury as they glared at him. 

She was not a fool. Earlier, his friend had tried to help him out by glossing over the matter. It would be odd if she couldn’t even perceive that.

Had it been the former Chai Meicen, her glare would have been truly frightening, rendering Zhou Rui from even daring to utter a word. 

However, the current fierce look in Chai Meicen’s eyes seemed to be extremely adorable and moe.

Thus glancing at such a Chai Meicen made Zhou Rui feel out of sorts. Avoiding her gaze, he attempted to give an ineffectual explanation, “It’s not that…they were framing me. The relationship between us is only so-so.”

Zhou Rui snuck a glance at his friends, only to see that his short-statured classmate was actually taking a picture of two of them.

A bad premonition crept into his heart, and quickly took out his phone and saw the message his friend had shared in the class group chat. 

Yang Ming: I ran into Brother Rui and a super beautiful girl while they were returning home. The two of them seemed very intimate. That girl was even dressed in Brother Rui’s clothes and hat!

Classmate 1: Woah, freaking awesome!

Classmate 2: What’s the situation now!

Classmate 3: Pretty! This girl is damn pretty!

Classmate 2: Brother Rui looked pretty docile even when he was being sorted out. Isn’t this how that saying goes ‘ Everything has its vanquisher’? 

Zhou Rui swiftly inputted a reply: Don’t make a fuss, she is my relative from my hometown, a blood-related one. 

Li Xiaonan: Eh, the two of you do seem to share slight resemblance. 

Yang Ming: When you put it like that, it does seem to be true!

Classmate 3: You actually have such a beautiful relative! put forward a request to introduce us! Woaahhh!The young lady is so beautiful, I fell into a river of love! 

Classmate 4: You are so mean, Brother Rui! There was such beauty in your family and yet you didn’t introduce her to us. From here-on, I will also be your relative. On every new year’s eve and holidays we will play mahjong together, for we all are one big family, am I your elder brother-in-law? Or younger brother-in-law? 

Glancing at such a series of messages made Zhou Rui’s teeth itch with ire. 

I regarded you all as my brothers, yet you want to be my father!
