'Now that is looking extremely good!'

I commented after seeing my own status window. Who would have thought that I would level up so much! My level could already be considered as the top ten percent of players of [Mayhem].

'I am kind of like a big shot now, right?'

Being in the top 10% of a game played by more than 2 billion people was already considered a big feat. I had already invested all my stat points accordingly since I was going to fight the Grivantula.

Instead of going the average route, where people put stat points in only the class-relevant stats, I was investing in everything.

Oh I know, I know. Too many cooks spoil the broth. But the broth here was legendary, and the versatility that it came with was something that could only show its true potential when I invested in my stats flexibly.

After I had gained three titles, the details of the titles were minimised automatically.

'Oh wait, I still haven't checked what this 'Dimensional Duke' title does.'

I thought about it as I brought up the details for the title.

[Dimensional Dukype: Buff Titlou are the first person to ever find a hidden dimension. Chances of finding hidden dimensions are increased from 0.00000001% to 1%.

Average people of hidden dimensions will likely be more acceptable to you.

Something special will happen every time you discover a new hidden dimension.]

Okay~

That's vague.

First of all, the chances of discovering a hidden dimension were just too low.ow much is it again?

Unit, ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand... a billion?

A once-in-a-billion chance of finding a hidden dimension?!

What the f–

'Wai-wai-wait. That actually makes sense considering how many people play [Mayhem].'

If the chances were like once in a thousand or even ten thousand, then there would already be a lot of hidden dimensions explored, and that would just not make sense when a 'hidden' thing is so easily found.

So your average Joe has a one in a billion chance of finding a hidden dimension while I had a one in a hundred chance.

I put both my hands on my face and exhaled on them as I tried to calm down my excitement.

Haaaah!

I still couldn't calm it down as I was smiling ear to ear with my body eyes and body burning from excitement.

'I think I am fucking mc of some sort!'

I commented inwardly.

Ahem!

"Are you alright?"

Jeze coughed and looked at me weirdly. I had totally forgotten about her and was making weird expressions and turning red holding my face while looking at the air, at least to her.

"Erm, yea. I am alright. Are you sure we are on the right track?"

I tried to change the topic as I looked around the area. We were currently following the direction that the stream came from, which will lead us to the waterfall where the Grivantula lives.

Instead of waiting for the day on which the Grivantula wakes up, that is two days later, I decided it was best to go before that. If possible, I would like to make a surprise attack on the Grivantula and try to gain an upper hand.

But all that possibility only resides when Grivantula was asleep. It would be a whole different scenario if it was awake.

Walking up the stream, I could see a bunch of piranhas passing by, but none of them even bothered looking at us. This was also a game setting. If the level disparity between a mob and a player was too big (The player's level is greater than the mob), then the mob would straight out ignore the player unless provoked.

But this possibility only lay when the mob was incapable of thinking. If the mob was capable of thinking, then it was a different case.

After walking for 2 hours at top speed, we finally reached the place. The stream's size was much bigger here and there was dark energy looming everywhere, that anybody could feel. In front of us was a huge waterfall that aggressively crashed on a giant rock and then all the water fell into the lake which was connected to the stream.

The giant waterfall was falling from the black mountain behind it. Even the bits and pieces of plants on the mountain had a black shade to them.

If one looked closely, one could discern a cave behind the waterfall.

"So that's where our culprit lives?"

Shhh!

I asked and Jeze immediately shushed me.

"Are you kidding me? There is literally a giant waterfall making so much noise that I can't even hear my own voice. Are you saying the Grivantula would hear this?"

I asked sarcastically and then saw the aghast expression on Jeze's face. Was she dumb? I had taken her to be a smarter woman than this.

GRUUUAAAAAHHHHHH!!

? A huge monstrous scream that sent shivers down my body was heard.

Gulp!

Did I just…

"I had thought you were a smarter man! The Grivantula was trained to keep people in check, what makes you think he wouldn't hear a person's voice just because of a waterfall's noise? Ugh, this is useless. Get ready to fight."

Jeze shouted at me in annoyance. I could clearly understand her annoyance as her life was on the line. I can just respawn after dying, there was no respawning setting for her.

I mouthed a 'sorry' without making a noise, guilt filling my heart. I should have done more research on the Grivantula!

"Why are you acting mute now when it has already woken up?"

"...."

Jeze said in a speechless tone and I couldn't retort to her.

Suddenly, the large waterfall split in half as a huge black-coloured lizard's shouting face came out.

KUOOOONNNGGGG!!

Its intimidating voice was so loud that it threatened to break past my ear drums.

Both I and Jeze covered our ears on instinct as I couldn't help but shout.

"Wasn't Grivantula a spider-like monster?!"

"It still is!"

Jeze shouted back at me and I looked towards the Grivantula on instinct. Its body that was hidden behind the waterfall finally came into view.

At least a dozen spider-like legs came into my view, each of them at least 6 meters tall. A body that looked like a turtle's shell and the face of a serpent with four eyes and two large horns rolling upwards.

"What the fuck is this creature?!"

I couldn't help but shout loudly. I looked at the red name tag and couldn't believe it.

[Grivantula]

[Mini boss, Level 143]

[745,000/745,000]

Are you fucking kidding me? This guy is supposed to be a mini-boss???

I looked at the gruesome-looking monster and felt like throwing up.

To think it's a pet of the generals…. Just how strong were these generals then?

This just made me think how scary this Abyss was, and how much more dangerous would it be when the people and monsters of the Abyss were at their full potential.

Kuuoooongggg!!

The monster clamoured as tons of water fell from his ginormous body.

He shook his large body like a cat shakes its body to shake off the water, the action being nowhere near as cute as a cat.

His serpent-like red slit eyes turned towards us.

"Oh no, run."

I grabbed Jeze's hands and started running in the opposite direction as the Grivantula turned around with his spider legs and smashed its long, serpent-like tail at the place where we standing, making a crater out of the place where we were standing.

"How to fight this thing?? It's too fucking big!"

I shouted as I turned back to look at the monster, getting more scared by every passing second.

"Huff! Huff! Wait, it's not chasing us."

I said as I slowly halted my steps while looking back, Jeze followed after me and stopped too.

"What is it doing?"

"I am trying to figure that out myself."

Jeze asked and I replied. The Grivantula had his head down as if he was looking at his neck, his terrifying horns going up and down.

"Maybe he's scratching an itch…?"

Jeze stared at me as if I was crazy to comment something like this at this moment.

Wait, no…

"FUCK! JUMP TO THE SIDE!"

I shouted as I gave a heavy push to Jeze while I jumped backwards, a beam of strong and turbulent water passing by from where we were just seconds earlier, destroying everything on its way.

Cough, cough, cough.

I coughed as I wasn't able to avoid the water breath on time.

[You have lost 2990 HP.]

"Why is it able to do dragon-like attacks?! This is so not fair!"

I cried out, feeling indignant as my eyes searched for Jeze. She had scraped her hand, but she was hanging on fine overall.

'Okay, enough running. I have to kill it for the quest. I don't know how, but I have to kill it to save Jeze.'

"Jeze, jump into the stream!"

I said as I started running towards the Grivantula. As soon as I was just ten meters away, I activated [Camouflage] and ran towards its leg.

The huge Grivantula at least ten times bigger than me didn't chase after Jeze, and instead, started pummeling the ground with its pointy legs from wherever I was running.

A major drawback of [Camouflage] was that it was close to useless in a terrain like this, where water was getting splashed around from even a slight movement of my legs, and hence giving away my presence to the Grivantula.

I kept avoiding its legs as I finally reached below the rampaging Grivantula.

I used multi-blades and started cloning Eclipse as I threw one dagger after another at his stomach.

Pang! Pang! Pang!

All the blades didn't even scratch his stomach as my [Camouflage] was cancelled.

Uck!

The Grivantula folded one of its legs and sent it directly at my stomach. Although I tried to avoid it, it managed to take out a huge part of my stomach from the side.

"FUCK! ARRGGGHHHH!"

[You have lost 4788 HP]

[You have suffered deadly damage. Body movements will be considerably slowed down.]

I couldn't help but cry from the pain. My whole body was churning from pain and I felt like vomiting seeing my own guts coming out of my body.

My vision was blurry from tears, but I could still see the Grivantula hovering above me running towards the stream.

'Where is this fucker going no– NO FUCK!'

By the time I could react, the monster was already near Jezebeth who was trying to run from the stream. She had come to show me the place where the Grivantula was and then run away as soon as possible.

She was the strongest person in the village after she had levelled up with me, and was already close to level hundred. That's why, the villagers couldn't convince her to not come with me.

She promised she would leave as soon as I entered Grivantula's domain, but our plans had gone awry the moment the monster came out of his den.

My whole body started burning as the time slowed down around me. I tried to run even with the pain in my stomach, but I wasn't fast enough. Jeze, who tried to defend herself from Grivantula's pointy leg, raised her spear to deflect its attack.

Crack!

The spear snapped in half without any resistance as the monster's leg directly passed through Jeze's stomach.

Pchhkkk!

"JEZE!!!!!!!"

My eyes started burning with my vision becoming cloudy, yet I still ran and ran, my whole body feeling pain, my heart clenching at the indescribable amount of pain that it felt, more than the pain from my body.

I could see Jeze's tender yet lifeless eyes looking at me as she slowly muttered.

"LO….V…..YO…. Uhakkk!"

Before she could clearly speak or complete her sentence, another attack hit her stomach.

"JEZEBETHHHH!!!!!"

Something snapped inside of me, broken into pieces.
