Chapter 59 - Specialist

Shaka moved to the front to see who was driving the cart to his surprise, a small figure was driving the cart, her ears long one hanging towards her face.

Chelsea was talking to Blanca about the view and what they were expected to do. "Do not just stand their join us Shaka." Her sharp hearing had long alerted her to Shaka rising from his slumber.

"Oh sorry I didn't mean to I'm still a little....." He was interrupted by Blanca

"Its about time you woke we have been on the road for three whole days, days light a wasting go up a head and see if you can find some gold, quickly now stop wasting silver."

He jumped of the cart and walked beside her, "Where are we? Blanca at least tell me that okay?"

"Okay sorry I forgot that you were not actually sleeping." She opens her hand as she passes him an emblem, of the Kings squad, combat division. " You made into the legion as a soldier first rank, you are one level below a commissioned officer. this is your badge, we are moving towards Helena."

Blanca suddenly started talking extremely formally "Sir, we should arrive in the next few days, if their is nothing I will dismiss myself."

Chelsea could not help but laugh at the sudden changed of attitude, She nearly let go of the reins of the carriage she was driving. Disrupting the procession ever so slightly.

"Greetings Shaka, I see luck has carried you here with us, once your done the squad leader would like to have word." Tyson had just landed next to Shaka and begun walking along with him as Blanca moved away.

Chelsea also change her demeanor, thou it was more cute than serious, it was her best effort.

"Thank you, I guess, who is the squad leader I'm suppose to meet." Shaka had not yet realised he was in the Kings squad expeditionary procession.

"Gruk you remember squad leader Gruk, are you sure your okay? You are fully healed right? I can't detect any wrong physically [his eyes glowed for a second] You should go to the one of the healers If you are not okay."

"Yes Tyson, it's nice to see you again. I'm just a little tired." He wiped the sweat off his forehead, looking around at the dirt road, to his left a large river, to his right in the distance a forest is approaching. "Do I have to go right now or can I go see him later?"

Tyson changed his smile turning into a stern straight face, "When ever you like, is okay." His aura did not match his voice, clearly something must have happened Shaka thought.

"Alright, alright lead the way to Gruk." Tysons aura immediately returned to normal, as he begun leading to Shaka to the middle of the procession, they had past the Support division, made their way more heavily armoured units some riding armoured Buffalos, the leader riding an magnificent Black Greater Kudu, a mystical creature said to grant wishes, they are found very rarely. It's horns made of a supersolid material, that Shaka wanted, with his new found strength he could see that it horn is exceptionally pure and much stronger than Mithril, maybe even divinium.

The man riding it was the druid Boris, his appears was regal as he was wearing Fers Wood an equally rare wood from which Shaka detect huge amounts of circuits which meant it was a great mana catalyst.

Boris nooded and greeted "Brothers", Tyson returned the greeting and pushed Shaka when he didn't.

Shaka said in a confused tone "brother."

"Your one us now, Shaka remember your manners please." Tyson warned in a slightly anxious tone, his skin going a little yellow as said almost as if he remembered an extremely traumatic experience.

"Alright, thanks I will make sure to keep that in mind." Shaka could see that Tyson was not trying to scare him but him so he made to try listen to the man

[Where...Shaka looks around, for the source of the voice as his head starts sweating again]

Gruk carriage looked very plain, a simply wood , with a strong mana radiance Shaka could feel that their is a powerful mana crystal being used on it. The only unique feature was the platform that appear allowing to stand on the carriage while it's in motion.

Tyson knelt with his right leg forward making sure Shaka saw everything he had just done, he looked at Shaka who immediately followed his movement, He knocked twice and flew away insanely fast almost as if he was running away.

"Shit!" Shaka nearly shouted "wait?" thinking to himself.

Shaka watched as the door slide open an unknown force pulling him in, The carriage inside was massive, it was maybe eight times bigger than the dimensions of the carriage, Shaka could be sure.

Gruk stood up from behind his desk becoming shorter as he moved around, murmuring to himself "This is why I hate the Capitans carriage."

"Shaka please sit I will be with you momentarily."

Shaka moved to the chair closet to next to a cabinet full of books, the doors leading to other closed, sealed right he could sense something,[Where, where...] from the blue door in the left wall but he did not know what exactly.

"Shaka!" Gruk had called his name twice already, as Shaka snapped back to reality. Gruk said "I would like to formal welcome into the Kings squad of the Ebon Legion. We are a strong squad, mainly combat we also have a support division, your current rank gives you command over those non commissioned officer, your badge is a recognition of your strength you should be able to get a promotion soon enough. Here the capitan left this for you.

Type: One Handed sword

Shaka placed the sword in his pants holster before enquiring about the behavior he had seen outside.

"Ah yes, we are after all a professional army we must be able, to work alongside other armies and squads as such. In public ranks is everything make sure to learn and know who you can and can't command, especially since you will be involved with the Support division, make sure to not insult those with a special rank like you." Gruk spoke firmly on this point.

"Special rank what does that mean?" Shaka looked at his badge carefully

"You see the golden outline it is signifier that you only need to complete the formal waiting period and should become a commissioned officer that how strong you are, if possible we would have made you a warrant officer the highest a non commissioned officer can achieve." Gruk gave a Shaka a small nodded of confidence, he had hopes for the youth.

Shaka thought for a moment before "Oh i see is there, anything in particular I should be looking for on another's badge?"

"Unfortunately I don't have time to explain it all in detail however I'm am a commissioned officer, I will lead men and set up missions, your rank right now is a specialist, you will form a small squad and move as directed by me."

"I have never done anything like before, I think I understand but how did you make me a squad leader so soon." Shaka wanted to use them almost as much as they want to him, so they were both seeing what the other could get away with.

"I'm planing to have you be a part of a group of four other hopefuls but that's for later, right now you need to survive the lands of Helena, I want you to play particularly attention to saving the Support guys. You might be able to stand out nor than being in a combat squad straight away and with your rank their would be only a few warrant officers that you would have to show proper respect until you firmly grasp the ranks, I need you to stay out trouble, that sword is a sign that the general has her eye on you, if you can grow it properly you will become a force to be reckoned with, enough talk now I half four more of these to do hurry go now."

Gruk used a spell that Shaka did not see that slowly moved him out of the carriage as Gruk was speaking. When he met the bright light of the sun, Shaka saw Tyson returning in the air with an unhappy Eleman. Shaka was slightly taken at how Tyson appeared untethered lift an Eleman.

Shaka moved towards back towards the Support Division procession, that at least Blanca might be a source of information he could tap into.

Shaka looked around the river had become even wider, random solider would salute him at times, soon he saw the carriage where he had woken up earlier.

He jumped on it, Chelsea jumped up pretending to scared "Ah you face it just soo, hahaha haha haha." she covered her eyes as she started laughing.

Shaka joined in on the laughter the spirit of Chelsea really help to lighten up a difficult situation. Shaka then calmly asked about the past two days or so.

She brought his ear close to her mouth while looking around, "When they brought you back, I over heard Blanca and one of the officers potentially the general got a report about the possible key to the tomb or what ever, so the Kings will be moving towards the key immediately."

Shaka held his sword, if only Chelsea was better at listen for details he might have been able to get more, She had spent the better party of thirty minutes telling him the story of how he was returned to the smithy all passed out and stuff. He managed to decipher the mess of information and pulled out what little bit of useful information he could.

Shaka was also looking around intently he had a set of eyes on him, since he returned from the carriage that he could not place where they were coming from but he did ever so slightly catch the tail of a Fox.

Blanca returned her body to bulky to ride the carriage, however her mount a giant crocodile was attached to the back of the carriage, She just preferred to walk when possible.

Shaka asked her about what Chelsea had told him Blanca explained "that he is on his own, he can also lead a few of the men behind if he wishes, as long as it doesn't interfere with the progress of the procession."

Shaka had already guessed her intentions for him, he had other plans for moment, he wanted to catch who ever was keeping an eye on him.

Shaka bid them good bye, he would be back later in the evening or so he told them. He was planning on luring who ever was following him to a secluded spot.

He made sure to wonder around a much as possible, he spoke to a few soldiers of the Support Division. He found out that they are combat division solider who are either here to train enough to be in the combat division army.

They full leather caught his eye upon closer inspection he saw the green straps were infused with mana, the leather itself also respond to mana it could be made to heat up and cool down as needed.

The uniform was also was tight fitting, but allowed freedom of movement.

Shaka began to move towards the nearby hill the procession was moving around, many Hunters had moved to find food and such. Shaka made his way to a secluded area his improved sense allowed him to a certain degree to avoid others.

Shaka pulled out his sword, it was made of a blue steel that was mana s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e, the only.thing he could identify about the steel is that it is made from a combination of metals. The Damascus pattern on the blade was truly beautiful, even if it was only a thirty six.

Shaka spotted a red horned Imp, in the forest he moved around in a circular motion it had not noticed him, he did it slowly paced about the monster. He could feel the wind on skin the breeze was warm, he slowed his breath, his eyes glowed a little, his blade imbued with his mana.

He slept forward everything stood still, the Imp had not even felt a hint of his presence, Shaka's blade moved swiftly along with his body. The Imp only saw a blue hue as a body zipped past it incredibly fast, as Shaka's hand grabbing a body by the neck slamming it to the ground.....
