Amidst everyone’s gossiping looks, Luo Xi felt increasingly angry.

She couldn’t help but glare at them again, causing everyone to quickly look away, genuinely afraid this time.

Feeling embarrassed, she used the back of her hand to cover her mouth, trying to hide her flushed face.

What does it feel like to have a crush on someone?

Perhaps it’s the constant desire to see them, to be close to them, and even the simplest contact fills you with a tingling sensation, right?

Luo Xi had acted in kissing scenes with others before; as a top-tier visual female star in the entertainment industry, she had performed in many idol dramas.

But today was different; when Cheng Qing’s cheek touched her lips, her body froze, her breath was taken away, and all she could feel was an intense and tingling sensation on her lips…

This sudden and unexpected moment left Luo Xi feeling flustered and bewildered.

Hey, you can’t just keep blocking the door!

Cheng Qing, standing outside, didn’t urge Luo Xi to open the door; she simply waited silently.

After a stalemate for quite some time, the director couldn’t help but speak up, saying, “Luo Xi, um… the door is locked, and the waitstaff can’t serve the food!”

Luo Xi’s face turned even redder; she secretly glared at the director and then turned to open the door.

Everyone craned their necks to look, only to see Cheng Qing standing outside with an embarrassed expression.

Even Teacher Cheng is embarrassed!!! Now we’re even more curious!!!

Everyone’s eyes became restless, and Luo Xi dared not look at Cheng Qing. She quickly went to the main table and found a seat to sit down.

Cheng Qing entered the room and smiled at everyone, apologizing, “Sorry, I took a bit longer.”

“It’s alright, it’s alright.” Everyone shook their heads and waved their hands, but their eyes gleamed with curiosity.

Cheng Qing chuckled and didn’t explain much. Instead, she glanced at the only remaining seat, feeling a bit hesitant. “Why don’t you sit over there, Director Kong?”

Kong Mingyan smiled and said, “Today’s meal is specially for you. Please, take a seat.”

Cheng Qing smiled too, “Why did you invite me to dinner? It’s quite overwhelming.”

Kong Mingyan burst into laughter, “We caused you trouble during today’s recording, and you even had to travel so far for us.”

Cheng Qing shook her head, “When I first came, Mr. Yang had already explained everything to me. I should do what’s expected, and there’s no need for you, Director Kong, to be so polite.”

Mr. Yang was the staff member who negotiated and signed the contract with Cheng Qing initially. Before the show, he naturally explained all sorts of situations to her.

After all, as an amateur, there might be many things she didn’t know. For example, the content recorded before the broadcast couldn’t be disclosed.

Or, if there were any celebrities she felt unhappy with during the interactions, she couldn’t spread it around.

Or, for the sake of the show’s effect, there might be things that made her uncomfortable, and she had to accept them unconditionally.

For an amateur, the contract wouldn’t be as fair, but Cheng Qing wasn’t relying on the show to make money. Her goals were clear, so she signed the contract relatively quickly.

Today’s 1500-meter swimming wasn’t something Cheng Qing was overly concerned about.

However, the fact that Kong Mingyan valued her presence made Cheng Qing feel comfortable about it too.

“You can’t put it that way; for the sake of the show’s effect, offending others is inevitable, and making amends is necessary. Hahaha…” Kong Mingyan’s humor had everyone laughing.

Cheng Qing replied without reservation, “If that’s your intention, then I won’t stand on ceremony.” With that, she walked past the others, and by this time, Luo Xi had already taken her seat, naturally sitting next to Cheng Qing.

When Cheng Qing approached, Luo Xi slightly turned her head away.

Once Cheng Qing took her seat, Kong Mingyan called the waiter to bring the dishes.

Everyone gradually started chatting, making a conscious effort not to glance over.

Only then did Cheng Qing tilt her head to look at Luo Xi and tugged at her sleeve.

“I’m sorry!” Cheng Qing said softly.

Luo Xi blushed and glared at her, “You’re apologizing again!!!”

Cheng Qing was taken aback, “…Well, it seems like that’s all I can do, besides apologizing.”

Feeling a bit harsh with her response, Luo Xi lowered her head and spoke softly with a touch of coquettishness, “It’s not entirely your fault. Why apologize?”

Seeing that Luo Xi was no longer angry, Cheng Qing breathed a sigh of relief and began coaxing her once again.

When Cheng Qing coaxed someone, her voice always softened a little, and her words seemed to land on the tip of their heart.

She smiled at Luo Xi and said, “If you’re not happy, then it’s my fault.”

Luo Xi’s breath hitched, feeling warm and content inside. In the end, she could only hum and turn her head away.

Cheng Qing knew she had let go of her anger, so she smiled and served Luo Xi some delicious sour and spicy cabbage, saying gently, “Eat! It’s my way of apologizing to you.”

Luo Xi didn’t hold back and started eating earnestly.

Meanwhile, the cameraman and the driver outside had returned from the car. Everyone’s curious gaze turned to the two of them, all thinking: What happened in the car just now???!!!

The cameraman politely smiled and took his seat. What happened? Do you think they can show it to you?

Kong Mingyan almost wanted to pull him over and snatch the recording device to see for himself. But, of course, he couldn’t do that.

Soon, the waiter came in with the dishes.

One delicious dish after another was placed on the table, and everyone set aside their suspicions and began to eat. Kong Mingyan was generous, ordering dozens of dishes, each one exquisite.

Since this meal was mainly for Cheng Qing, and they knew she liked eggplants from the last time they dined together, there were at least 6 or 7 eggplant dishes on the menu. Cheng Qing found it amusing but didn’t mind.

Luo Xi enjoyed her meal, gradually putting aside the earlier incident. She had played hard and ate a lot today.

When she put down her chopsticks, she saw Cheng Qing pass a tissue over.

Luo Xi glanced at her and naturally reached out to take a tissue, her face slightly blushing.

Kong Mingyan’s gaze wandered between the two. To be honest, the chemistry between them was strong, like lavishing attention on one while secretly loving it but feeling shy about it.

After everyone finished eating, they got up to leave.

While waiting for the car at the entrance, Luo Xi noticed that Cheng Qing’s face was slightly red, illuminated by the light. She couldn’t help but frown, wondering if Cheng Qing had been drinking.

When Luo Xi looked at her directly, Cheng Qing naturally noticed it too. In the dark night, even her smile seemed as cool as moonlight. “What are you looking at?”

Luo Xi asked, “Did you have a drink just now?”

Cheng Qing was taken aback and smiled in response, “No, I didn’t!”

Luo Xi furrowed her brows and stood in front of Cheng Qing, raising her hand to touch Cheng Qing’s forehead. She said, “Let me check. If you didn’t drink, are you feeling unwell?”

The night didn’t offer a clear view of their facial features like daylight, but the moonlight softened everything, making Luo Xi’s delicate features even more ethereal.

Cheng Qing found Luo Xi’s slightly furrowed brows beautiful, and she could feel all the serious concern and worry while Luo Xi measured her temperature.

Of course, Cheng Qing was also moved. She had only known Luo Xi for a few days. To receive such care in return for her efforts was an unexpected delight.

Cheng Qing cherished Luo Xi in her heart, reaching out to hold the small hand on her forehead. Luo Xi was startled, and Cheng Qing held her hand, placing it by her side, then chuckled as she said, “You don’t measure temperature like this.”

Luo Xi was puzzled, “Huh?”

The moonlight poured down, and the earth was covered in a silver glow. In the misty light, Cheng Qing seemed to be getting closer and closer. Along with the cold moonlight, the sound of her own heart beating like thunder echoed.

Cheng Qing smiled and lowered her head, then gently pressed her forehead against Luo Xi’s, saying softly, “This is how you measure it.”

The two looked at each other, just a few centimeters apart. If they got a bit closer, they could kiss. Even now, their breaths were mingling, adding a hint of ambiguity.

Luo Xi was stunned, and Cheng Qing was also taken aback. Then Cheng Qing straightened up and touched her own forehead, saying, “Seems like I have a slight fever.”

Only then did Luo Xi snap out of it, her previous thoughts vanishing, and she nervously asked, “Are you feeling uncomfortable?”

Cheng Qing shook her head, “I don’t really feel anything. It’s okay; I’ll take some medicine later.”

However, Luo Xi still couldn’t rest assured. Once they got in the car, she scolded the director, Kong Mingyan. When Kong Mingyan heard that Cheng had a slight fever, he felt quite embarrassed and stopped the car midway to buy some medicine.

After returning to the villa, Cheng Qing rested first due to her illness. Luo Xi and a few others quickly recorded some interviews before they were allowed to leave.

Worried about Cheng Qing’s condition, Luo Xi went up first.

At the door, she noticed that the room’s door was closed. She gently opened it a crack and saw that it was dim inside.

Had she fallen asleep?

“Qingqing?” Luo Xi called softly, but Cheng Qing didn’t respond.

Luo Xi decided not to turn on the lights and quietly entered the room. With the moonlight from outside, she could vaguely see Cheng Qing lying on the bed.

Luo Xi walked to the bedside and saw Cheng Qing frowning. Luo Xi was taken aback, “Are you feeling uncomfortable?”

Cheng Qing opened her eyes drowsily and saw Luo Xi’s slightly worried expression.

She flashed a reassuring smile and teased, “Give me a hug, and I won’t feel uncomfortable anymore.”

Luo Xi blushed, then resolutely said, “Okay, let me freshen up first, and then I’ll come back.” With that, she got up and went to the bathroom.

Cheng Qing let out a helpless sigh as Luo Xi had already left.

Cheng Qing chuckled, “I was just joking. If you hug me tonight, you might fall sick tomorrow.”

Luo Xi turned on the bathroom light, looked back at Cheng Qing, and said, “I’m not afraid.”

Cheng Qing gave a faint smile, her voice slightly weak, as she replied, “But I am.”

Luo Xi: “…”

Cheng Qing felt a bit weak due to her illness, and her voice lacked strength. Hearing Luo Xi’s response, she thought Luo Xi was just being loyal.

She lay down to sleep, and before drifting off, she told Luo Xi, “Sleep with your back facing me at night.”

After saying that, she fell asleep.

Luo Xi pouted as she looked at her and couldn’t help but say, “You were the one hugging me in your sleep, and now you want me to face away from you? No way.”

Cheng Qing mumbled drowsily, “I heard you.”

Luo Xi replied with a huff, “Hmph, I’ll sleep facing you then, it’s fine.”

Cheng Qing wanted to shake her head in resignation but felt that her head was heavy and sleepy, so she fell asleep once again.
