Chapter 80. The Fairy of Frost

The dwarves played a significant role in Norse mythology. Although they rarely performed anything on their own, their dexterity was very famous, and it is said that they created most of the equipment in Norse mythology.
The thunder god’s hammer, Mjölnir, was born from their hands, and so was Odin’s spear, Gungnir. So did Gleipnir, Brizinga Men, and Skidblanir.
Those who were considered superior to the gods in the realm of artisans who made things were the dwarfs.
No one has ever seen a Norse dwarf since the Norsemen left the land destroyed after Ragnarok and settled in this world. But are they still alive?
Ivan frowned. He had never heard of such a thing. Now, after many years have passed, and in his vague memory, such a thing did not exist.
“Norse dwarf, are you sure?”
When Ivan asked, Ciarin Evenwood took a step back. And he turned around without giving a confirmation.
“Well, I don’t know.”
“Then why did you bring up the story…”
“But the dwarves seem to have met them before.”
The dwarves of this land and the dwarfs of the Norse were completely different beings. However, the two were very similar in many ways. Especially since they are a race of artisans, who create something.
For such Dwarves, the existence of a Norse dwarf was very interesting. It was natural to be interested in the great craftsmen who even admired the gods.
“Some adventurous dwarves have wandered the continent for hundreds of years in search of dwarfs. That bracelet is the result of such a long effort. That is the mark left by the dwarf.”
Ivan fiddled with the golden bracelet, Draupnir.
He knew that the object that produced eight golden bracelets of the same weight each Ahre, the mysterious miracle, was engraved in a different form. Ivan’s right eye, the golden eye of wisdom, revealed it.
Ivan asked, fiddling with it for a while.
“Can I take this?”
“of course.”
“You know what this thing is?”
“No, that’s what I’m saying. It’s something that can’t be used without you.”
Ciarin Evenwood looked straight into his eyes and said.
“The warrior of Asgard, the champion of the gods, the incarnation of Odin. It is yours.”
Ivan was offended by the expression of Odin’s incarnation, but he shut his mouth and wrapped a golden bracelet around his forearm.
The golden shield of the snake god, a relic given by the Red Valley tribe, was also in the form of a gold bracelet, so it looked like he was wearing a gold bracelet in each hand.
Blood sword Brika, golden boar skin armor, the snake god’s golden shield, and even replicas of Meggingillord and Draupnir that were made by dwarves.
It was safe to say that colorful equipment was wrapped around his body, but Ivan became more anxious rather than relieved. As he grew stronger, the enemy he had to deal with was getting stronger.
‘I just wish there was one more decent spear here.’
It was a pity that the lost warrior’s spear had suddenly lost its way. There aren’t many more efficient tools out there.
“I don’t know why the dwarf’s work has flowed into the fairy’s warehouse, but when this is over…”
Ciarin Evenwood, who had guessed Ivan’s words, nodded his head.
“All right. Then I will tell you a little bit more about the traces of the dwarfs.”
“I see. I’ll wait for that.”
Ivan tried to hide his regret. This is because it was more urgent to stop the force of the giants coming down rather than chasing after the traces of the Norse dwarf, whose existence was obscured right now.
When he turned his head with that thought, Ciarin Evenwood was gone. She left without a trace.
After she disappeared, Ivan let out a short sigh. Because of the presence of the Transcendental that is implicitly emanating from Ciarin Evenwood, it seems that he was feeling quite nervous without knowing it.
“After all, too. I’m still lacking in front of the top-ranked powerful.”
In fact, a mortal couldn’t capture the Transcendent. Ciarin Evenwood has the highest level of match among the world-renowned shaman, but she is still lacking.
She spent most of her time sleeping in the Elemental Realm to lessen her burden. However, the reason she dared to appear like this was that the World Tree had high expectations for Ivan.
In any case, after he had chosen his gear, Ivan stood at the entrance to the fairy’s warehouse. Delfino and Ferocious Tooth returned with great excitement. They seemed to have found equipment that they liked.
“It is indeed a fairy’s warehouse. Finding the old saint’s wand here is amazing. Of course, the saint has a history of arranging reconciliation between elves and humans over 500 years ago, but even so, I can’t believe that his relic is…”
Delfino continued to pour out words while holding a silver wand. Ivan did not know it well, but it seemed to have some religious significance.
‘It will be hard if you choose only based on religious values….’
Ivan narrowed his eyes and looked at the wand, and then nodded his head. The power that resided in it was unusual. It seemed that it was not just a relic of historical value.
Ferocious Tooth, on the other hand, was swinging a necklace adorned with blue jewels. He explained with satisfaction.
“It is a necklace that can summon a spirit horse. Now I can ride a horse too!”
He was large and had a different body structure from a human, so he could not ride a horse. For that reason, they had to rent a wagon when the party moved. Ferocious Tooth seems to have been mindful about it inwardly.
“It’s a waste of opportunity to choose for just transportation. Is that really enough?”
“Of course, and with the Spirit Horse, I can fight more fiercely.”
“Well, then.”
A normal horse would not be able to keep up with the fierce battles of superhumans, but a spirit horse could be of great help. If he manages to control it, it can’t be a very bad choice.
When everyone came out of the fairy’s warehouse with satisfied expressions on their faces, Elena Evenwood was waiting for them.
When her indifferent eyes met Ivan, she seemed to have noticed that her older sister, Ciarin Evenwood, had gone to Ivan by a glimmer of light.
But she didn’t talk about it and instead held out a slimy bow.
“This is for Iraine Palacion. Please give it to her.”
“Palacion?”
Ivan’s eyes widened as she handed the bow. Because it was a familiar name somewhere.
At Ivan’s reaction, Elena Evenwood frowned slightly.
“Do you know about the Palacion?”
“… that’s right.”
“It’s amazing. I thought no one remembered it, but I think I can see why the World Tree saw hope in you.”
Hearing that conversation, Delfino and Ferocious Tooth seemed curious about what they were talking about, but Elena Evenwood saw them off without explaining.
“You are going to a dangerous battlefield. I wish you all blessings on your path ahead.”
After taking a few steps with the unfamiliar elf as their guide, the party had already left the fairy forest and returned to the physical world. Quiet and secluded forest. That was before they left.
“You came back sooner than I expected. I thought you were going to play for a few days.”
Iraine said, half lying on a nearby tree, smoking a tobacco pipe.
She jumped down and approached the party when she found the bow Ivan was holding and narrowed her eyes.
“that……? why are you holding it?”
“To give it to you, Iraine Palación.”
Iraine took her bow and snorted. Because she knew what he was thinking in Ivan’s tone.
“Yeah, Palacion, what’s wrong with that? It’s not that important anymore, is it?”
“However, it is not common to have the last name of one of the seven ancient fairies who came down to this earth and formed a body in the beginning.”
“Right, my distant ancestor was the Palacion, one of the seven fairies. But what is it? All elves today are their descendants. It doesn’t make much sense to point out that again.”
Iraine shrugged her shoulders and patted her bow. Ivan looked at it and said.
“So that’s the Palacion’s bow? An ancient fairy’s magic?”
At that moment, Iraine turned her head.
“What, you even know that? Have you ever seen such a future?”
The party believed that Ivan could read a fragmentary future. Because Ivan induced it that way, and actually, it wasn’t so wrong.
Ivan stared at Palacion’s bow and nodded his head.
“I have seen the gods of the ancient fairies at work. They had great power.”
“Fairy Gods? It would be very bad if a few of those things showed up.”
It was. The World Tree burned down, and the fairy forest was destroyed. In the meantime, the surviving elf heroes fight enemies using the ancient fairy gods.
Ivan didn’t even bother to explain it in detail, but Iraine smiled bitterly as if everyone had guessed it.
“It means that the prophecy of the world tree is really near.”
She firmly gripped the bow of the ancient fairy’s god, Palacion. The bow then radiated light and penetrated the back of her hand. A pattern in the shape of a bow and arrow gleamed on the back of her hand and then disappeared.
“Let’s leave right away. Even now, the giant is moving.”
At her urging, the group moved again. After walking a few steps following the guide elf, they jumped over the space at once. It was used as a long-distance portal using the peculiarity of the fairy forest, which is connected to all forests in the physical world.
Irene’s eyes, which had been dim for a moment, became hard again as they looked at the fairy forest that had passed by for a very short time. As she strode forward, she followed her company.
Soup, hoo-.
Pop pop.
Cold steam flows from her mouth, and the pure white snow is stepped on. It was a complete winter forest.
They all had bodies far from ordinary humans, but the cold they felt for the first time in their life made his impressions frown.
Not only Delfino, who is lacking in physical but also the expression of Ferocious Tooth, a Lizardman who was extremely reluctant to lower his body temperature, was bad.
Seeing their expressions, Ivan waved his hand and scattered his magical powers. The cool breeze blew away in an instant, and a cool breeze blew.
Then Ferocious Tooth shook their head wildly.
“You don’t have to. This is enough to overcome.”
Although he was weak against the cold, it was not unbearable. You can only block the cold if you turn the magic power inside your body.
It was a waste of mana for Ivan to warm up the entire space by raising his own mana.
To be concerned about that, Ivan answered, pointing to the golden bracelet, Draupnir, which was found in the fairy’s warehouse.
“I have enough magical power, so don’t worry.”
Draupnir, said to have been newly created by the dwarf, amplified magical powers instead of spawning new gold. Ivan, who had obtained a huge level of magic storage, could not be burdened with the current level of magic consumption.
It was then that he felt someone approaching Ivan’s sharp senses. It was light and quiet, yet sharp.
Iraine said as Ivan pulled out his weapon.
“it’s okay. They are not the enemy. It seems that he has come out to greet us.”
Tak!
The elves appeared as they ran on the snow with light movements that left almost no footprints. (TN: Legolas is that you?)
Frost Elf, a winter fairy, covered in thick winter clothing and covered in white animal fur like a scarf,
Unlike ordinary elves, who seem indifferent and do not feel emotions, he looked at them with sharp eyes and smiled.
“Today’s warm weather is perfect for a walk. Welcome to the Frozen Lands, young people.”
