Chapter 24. See and Feel

The gap narrowed one step at a time. Before the warlocks could do anything, Ivan’s spear broke his skull.
In the middle, a shield made of black magic tried to block his spear, but the rough and violent power of the thunder god did not allow it.
pagak!
In an instant, his head exploded and bones flew out. Feeling the dull taste at his hands, Ivan thought to himself.
‘It’s good that there’s no blood or flesh splashing because you’re a skeleton mage.’
Crrrk!
A chain of magic protruding from the darkness tried to bind Ivan’s body. The arrows of the elves cut it off.
Pababak!
The slaves used by the warlocks were not enough, so they sacrificed their own lives to block Ivan, but to no avail. An undead created in a hurry was not enough to stop Ivan.
While Ivan once again cut a skeleton mage into a pork back-bone stew, the elves summoned their friends over the land.
Woo-.
Hwa-ah-ah.
-Ahahahaha!
The spirits that appeared were laughing and running around. Just by moving like that, the land that had been drenched in darkness was purified at once.
It wasn’t just that. The evil magic that the warlocks launched was broken, and the power emitted by the spirits burned the body of the undead.
-Uuuu, aaaaa!
The warlocks fell with a painful scream. It wasn’t spit from the mouth, but a devastating scream from the mental wave or beyond.
Through Heimdall’s power, Ivan, who had acquired even a tiny fraction of the senses of the Transcendental, could see their souls being sucked in somewhere.
It was barely attached to the bone body, and when it disappeared, the demon who made a contract with the warlocks reached out and retrieved their souls.
Devote your soul to gain strength. These were the words of the demon worshiper. Now you will suffer forever in the land of the devil.
The demon who took the souls of the warlocks turned away. He even covets the souls of those who had been used as slaves.
chuck!
That was unacceptable. Even if he couldn’t protect their life, shouldn’t he protect their soul?
Ivan drove the spear into the ground and blocked the demon.
“They are not yours. You disgusting bastard.”
Woo-.
The energy that rose from deep inside Ivan’s body agreed to it. The gods who looked down from a distant place, a distant heaven, empowered their warriors.
Crackle!
Whiiing!
Lightning flowed through Ivan’s body and the storm in the spear looked at the Great Demon, the Deathbringer.
Then the demon turned around as if he had given up their souls. As per the contract, he took only the souls of the warlocks and disappeared.
Nothing has changed on the surface.
But Ivan could feel the faint demon’s gaze completely gone.
Srp~.
A cold sweat ran down Ivan’s spine. My trembling body couldn’t calm down, so I bit my teeth tightly.
‘…Damn it.’
Of course it wasn’t the real body, and it wasn’t even an alter ego. A part of the power that merely collects souls according to the contract.
However, the transcendental sense Heimdall had lent saw the body beyond it. I could feel an evil existence with a strong power.
It is as powerful as a natural disaster that cannot be dealt with now. Ivan’s face grew tired of the fear he had felt as he faced the overwhelming force.
“Damn, how did I ever have to fight these guys in a place like this?”
Ivan collected saliva and spat it out on the floor. He was able to regain his composure only after shaking off the unpleasant emotions that were taking over his body.
“What was that just now?”
The elves’ expressions revealed the emotions of a living being for the first time. It was that surprising.
It was difficult to prevent the great demon trying to recover their soul in most mental states.
Their eyes, able to peer into the essence of all things, could clearly see the previous situation. It’s unbelievable even looking at it. How could that evil demon retreat so easily?
“Warrior of Asgard, you are truly loved by the gods.”
A female elf he had met recently came forward. There was a slight expression of admiration on her face.
‘This looks much better.’
Although the appearance of the elves was very beautiful, they rarely expressed their emotions, so they looked like robots or dolls. That was the biggest factor that made them reluctant.
Unpleasant Valley. The theory that the more clumsily resembling a human being, the more unpleasant it is.
Perhaps there is a reason why Ivan feels so uncomfortable with Elves, even when he meets other races, he just ignores them. But the elves looked like a human, yet their emotions were different.
“I’m guessing it’s more of interest than love. And the attention of the gods isn’t all that good for mortals.” (dlazarturead(dot)wordpress(dot)com)
“Is that so?”
“At least for me.”
The way of thinking of the Transcendental is completely different from that of a mortal. Their standard of dealing with all things in the world was not of a nature that humans dared to understand.
In a way, it was similar to the gaze of gamers and producers. So Ivan, who has gone from a gamer to a mere character, and from a player to a character, couldn’t really like them. The more he thought about it, the more he felt sorry for his situation.
“By the way, I don’t think we have time to do this. Those guys went into the dungeon. Do you plan on waiting outside?”
At Ivan’s question, her eyes moved slowly. What she is looking at is the shimmering portal in the cave, the entrance to the dungeon.
The elves, who were staring at it, answered at the same time without looking into each other’s eyes or talking to each other.
“We remain here,”
“We will go in.”
“Warrior of Asgard, what will you do?”
There was no awkwardness at all, even though several people were talking. This is because the elves shared their feelings and thoughts with each other through a system called the World Tree.
They didn’t even talk verbally, but they decided their opinions after discussion through a network that was connected to each other.
“I’ll go in too. I’m interested in the relic that lies inside.”
After saying that, Ivan looked at the elves with intense eyes. It was meant as a warning that he would not stand still if they touched the object he was aiming for.
“We don’t know what’s inside, but we don’t care about relics. We just want the dangers to disappear from our forest.”
In response, Ivan burst out laughing.
“I hope so.”
who can’t say? He couldn’t believe the promise made only by mouth. But for now, there is no other way than that, so he’s just going to move on.
‘You idiots, if you hit me in the back, I’ll chop it up and make it into a spicy elf stew.’
Even though Ivan made so much promise inside, he proceeded with the story, pretending to be okay on the outside.
“I wish those who got inside didn’t know we existed, but I don’t think so. They probably know enough.”
They were the ones who collected information by putting only slaves outside the dungeon. Of course, there must be some kind of connection, and since the warlocks and slaves who were outside had all died, it was better to think that they were already aware of this situation inside.
Then they have two choices.
Waiting for Ivan and the elves inside and then making a surprise attack, or increasing the speed of attacking the dungeon to get the relics quickly and get out.
‘Before entering, I must be vigilant.’
While collecting the ax that Ivan had thrown away, four elves were waiting at the entrance of the dungeon to see if they were ready. The rest are trying to prepare for possible external threats.
“Hey, you, there, or over there. It’s a bit of a stretch to call you that way. We’ll have to work together for a little while, then I hope we know each other’s names. I’m Ivan. Ivan Esirsson.”
Esirsson.
Hearing his name, all the elves looked at him. They also knew the Norse legend and understood what Esirsson meant. (dlazarturead(dot)wordpress(dot)com)
“There’s a reason why you’re loved by the gods. I’m Elena Evenwood.”
Evenwood?
Except for her, everyone else introduced their names, but only the name Evenwood remained in Ivan’s mind. Because it was a surname he had heard a lot.
‘Now, the shaman of the World Tree must be Evenwood, what does that mean?’
Elves are a very closed and long-lived race, so it can be said that all of them are related by blood. Maybe it means that she is also quite important.
Of course, in the elf society, status didn’t mean much. However, it is said that by human standards, that will be the case.
‘I think I would have known if I had been a little interested in the settings.’
Like many gamers in Korea, Ivan focused only on leveling up and farming items, but did not delve into the background settings properly.
He often went around the same dungeon dozens of times rather than performing quests.
It’s a boring explanation no matter how you proceed with the quest, isn’t it a rule of thumb to skip quickly?
As such, most of the gamers were only interested in what kind of monsters they had to catch, how many quest items to collect, and what rewards they could get, not why.
Ivan was also such a common user. Of course, I knew most of the things he needed to know, but this detailed information was lacking.
‘If I knew this would happen, I shouldn’t have just left a comment saying “Get off” to people who posted settings on the community bulletin board.’
Ivan smacked his lips out of regret.
‘Elena Evenwood. Is she an important person? She doesn’t look that strong, but I’ll have to be careful.’
He stepped forward, raising his vigilance even more.
“Okay. Then I’ll go in first, so come right after me. If there’s a guy bloking the way, I’ll clean it up.”
Odin, Thor, and other damned gods of Asgard.
As Ivan called out their names softly, a heavy energy surged from deep within. They had no hesitation in lending their strength, whether the upcoming battle seemed to be enjoyable.
blood and death. Fierce battles and glorious victories. Or a disastrous defeat and a desperate fate.
Whatever road lies ahead of Ivan, they will watch ferociously to the end. Because these damned character destroyers are kinky bastards who feel pleasures as they hear their warrior screams their name when troubled.
Kwak!
Giving strength to the hand holding the weapon, Ivan jumped into the dungeon.
Whoosh!
A trembling sensation passed through Ivan. She entered the dungeon beyond the distorted space.
thud!
Ivan, who landed on the floor with the same momentum as he jumped, raised a spear and looked around, but there was no expected attack. It seems that the warlocks who entered first chose to take the artifact quickly instead of waiting and attacking.
He entered the cave, but what he saw was a thick forest. It was not surprising. As we have already experienced, the world inside the dungeon is not an ordinary place.
Whoosh!
After that, the elves entered the dungeon. Appearing from the air, they gently landed on the ground using the wind spirit. Surely everyone was supported by their looks, so even that figure looked artistic. It’s a damn looks-oriented thing.
“It’s quiet.”
Elena Evenwood, who drew out her bow and was vigilant around her, spoke like this. Even the elves’ sharp senses and the gazes of the spirits seemed to make the enemies invisible.
“I’m glad we got away from the worst of hellfire falling over our heads as soon as we entered the dungeon.”
In response, Ivan looked around with his sharp eyes.
A number of dead bodies were rolling across the floor with holes punctured throughout his body. They were slaves that the warlocks threw in to get information about the dungeon.
Ivan’s gaze, moving his eyes following the dark red bloodstains, was fixed on the trees standing around him. Drops of dry blood were dripping from the tip of the tree’s pointed branches.
Yes, this is an obvious pattern.
“Prepare for the attack!”
Along with Ivan’s cry, the surrounding trees firmly established their branches and pushed in.
Shh!
