Chapter 8 - Only Because I'm Poor

The next day, Wang Xue was still sighing constantly in his heart. When did achieving perfection come so easily? Am I really a goddamn human and not some kind of abomination? How his mind still fluttered in chaos due to already ranking up to the Perfection Layer.

With his thoughts distracted, he absently walked around inside his cave as the door to his residence opened and two guards came in. They wore silver armor which had a small little orchid engraved on the left c.h.e.s.t area. They carried spears and had the expressions of veteran vietn- soldiers.

"Miss Bai Xia, our Master requires your presence in the Sect Leader Hal." One of them spoke out but Wang Xue couldn't tell which one said that. Goddamn what the hell? Are they goddamn clones of each other?! He hurriedly nodded and followed their lead where he approached a large palace which was lavishly decorated with jewels and whatnot.

When he arrived, the guards opened the door and bowed as they left him to go on his own. The room consisted only of two people, a middle-aged man whose blood was bubbling constantly with an intent of bloodl.u.s.t and a woman who he instantly recognized as Peak Leader Zhu.

The man's eyebrow raised as a sudden spiritual pressure was enforced on Wang Xue. It was trying to compel him to kowtow to him causing a frown to appear on the woman's face yet she didn't interfere but, how could this measly being, compare to Saita- Wang Xue? With a small snort, the pressure instantly vanished and instead it was reflected onto the Sect Leader.

Oh crap, what the f*ck?! The Sect Leader somewhat trembled as he felt his own pressure go against him and ravaged his internal system. Wang Xue felt the damages happening in the Sect Leader's body and awkwardly chuckled inwardly. Maybe, I went a bit too far... hahaha.

The Sect Leader then suppressed the rampaging pressure forcefully allowing him a couple of minutes of body stability before focusing his eagle-like eyes onto Wang Xue, intrigued and curious about how she was able to make his own pressure turn against itself.

A few moments of awkward silence and finally there was someone who broke the ice.

"Ahem, Sect Leader this is the new disciple I was telling you about, Bai Xia." It was Peak Leader Zhu who spoke as she subtlety send a gaze of concern to Wang Xue as if it was a foreshadowing of something bad which was going to happen.

"An interesting fellow you've chosen, Lil'Zhu. Very well, since I don't doubt you and I hold a high opinion of you, I shall pronounce the Title of Chosen upon Bai Xia." When the Sect Leader said that, Miss Zhu became terrifyingly euphoric. Wang Xue didn't have a prejudice against over-excitement but this one tipped him over the edge.

Plus, what kind of dumb logic is that? How come when Wang Xue wanted to become a Chosen, his data was processed and carefully read by several elders, he had to undergo countless trials. Not to bloody mention, he even had to give a urine sample! Oh jeez, that day, in particular, sent goosebumps up to Wang Xue's back.

Shortly thereafter, Wang Xue left still dazed about how quick the events just went by. He revolted against the leader of the sect, managed to become a Chosen as simple as that and left unscathed. What kind of fairy tale is he in now? Back in the Palace, however, the Sect Leader vomited a mouthful of blood as he tumbled down clutching his abdomen. Miss Zhu was dumbfounded and was about to yell for the doctor but was instantly cut off by him.

"Don't fret it, I'm still alive and that newly-found disciple of yours really peaks my interest."

When Wang Xue came home, his stomach began growling. Although it is proven that Cultivators can substitute for food and water with Heaven andEarth Qi, you had to be at a certain realm or above that realm. So when Wang Xue finally faced the problem of being hungry, he was clueless.

Being a young master of a good clan naturally meant that he was spoilt. And that naturally meant that he had maids/slaves/servants to do his work for him.

He decided to get rich quick! And what better way to do this then pickpoc- Alchemy! Alchemy is such a godly skill only for this reason: Turn Rags into Riches. This is because some pills which are expensive can be easily created with a few worthless herbs. Naturally, there's a requirement as if everyone knew how to make pills then in a few weeks you could see the entire economy collapse.

Wang Xue couldn't be bothered in his past life to make pills as he already gets what he wants so whats the need of having more? Now, he truly understood the usefulness it had. So he swore to pursue the path of Alchemy only to be overflowing in riches!

With this as his ambition, he headed straight out of the cave and into the Herb Pavilion which was bustling with people. The hall itself was called the Main Pill Hall which split into two sections. One was for buying/selling pills/herbs and the other one was for researching about pills/herbs.

He went into the Research Area which was sparse in people and allowed more leg space and personal space. He quickly picked up a book that read Herb Compendium First Layer and began absorbing its knowledge.

A few hours later, thanks to his powerful will and mind, he was able to memorize every single detail of a herb. While just coincidentally, a large competition was being held in the Main Pill Hall...
