Chapter 436 - Extra 8 - The three walked away and the giggling from the little boy could still be heard. (2)

Xiao Naihuang had short legs and would stagger from side to side as he ran. It was particularly cute.

The maid followed slowly behind him and guarded over him.

The little kiddo was already bored from playing in the garden and headed toward the backyard curiously.

Unless the front yard, the backyard had a lot more trees. There were those for appreciation and also fruit trees. It was summertime and the leaves in the tree were growing wild. They had yet to have someone come and trim them.

Xiao Naihuang placed both of his hands behind him and walked like an old government official. He walked toward the trees on his two short, stubby legs.

“Little Young Master, let’s not walk any further in. The backyard hadn’t been maintained lately. There are a lot of mosquitos and other bugs that will bite you.”

The maid was half wooing and half intimidating him, trying to get him to leave. “Let’s head back over to the garden.”

“I’m not afraid of bugs.”

Xiao Naihuang stuck his little tummy out as he stuck out his pink little fingers and said in his milky voice, “Little bugs are this small. I’m a big boy. I am not afraid of them.” He even mimicked how little bugs move with his stubby little fingers as he talked.

The maid recalled how little Young Master had once caught a large, green bug and brought it to show off in front of Young Madam. Young Madam had turned pale from that.

He truly was not afraid of bugs.

Xiao Naihuang pitter patters on his stubby little legs and keep deeper into the woods, looking for something fun to play with.

Shortly thereafter, he stopped in front of a large tree and saw a small and slender snake appeared from behind a dried piece of wood. Then, under the maid’s terrified look, the little snake climbed up on Xiao Naihuang’s leg.

Xiao Naihuang had on a pair of red shorts today and his two fair and tender legs were exposed. The little snake looked particularly scary wrapped around his leg.

“Don’t move, little Young Master.” The maid’s voice was shaking. Why would there be a little snake in the backyard?

“Don’t move, or the snake will bite you.” The maid was so scared that her limbs were going numb. She wanted to walk forward.

Xiao Naihuang turned around and his voice was crisp. “Don’t worry. It won’t bite me.”

Having said that, Xiao Naihuang said to the little snake wrapped around his leg, “I’m a good boy. Don’t bite me, little snakey.”

The maid was scared and found that comical at the same time. The little Young Master was too young to know how scary snake can be.

“Don’t be afraid, little Young Master. I’ll come and remove the snake right now.” The maid said in a low voice as she carefully walked over to him.

“No, don’t. It’s a good snake. It didn’t bite Baobao.” Xiao Naihuang lowered his little head, bent over, reached his hand out, and pinched the snake that was wrapped around his leg.

“Little Young Master!” The maid turned pale and almost fainted when she saw Xiao Naihuang picking up the snake with his hand. “You can’t pick it up. Throw it away. Throw it away now!”

Xiao Naihuang looked at the little snake in front of him and blinked his large eyes. “Little snake is cute.”

He didn’t understand why he needed to throw the snake away. He wanted to play with it.

“Hurry up and throw it away. Don’t let it bite you.” The maid stepped forward quickly. She was so nervous that her eyes were almost shut. She grabbed the snake from Xiao Naihuang and tossed it away.

The snake, startled, quickly went into the woods.

“Little snakey had left.” Xiao Naihuang pouted and there was disappointment in his milky voice. “Come play with Baobao again next time, little snakey.”

The maid immediately squatted down and examined Xiao Naihuang’s little leg. It was fair and tender with no wound at all. She finally let out a sigh of relief.

She quickly grabbed Xiao Naihuang’s hand. “Little Young Master, let’s head back. We don’t want to play here.” She must tell Young Madam this incident. This was too scary.

“Mommy’s awake already?” If he wasn’t allowed to play here, Xiao Naihuang wanted to go look for his Mommy.

“Young Madam should be awake now.” The maid headed back the way they came from while holding Xiao Naihuang’s hand.

It was already noon when Ning Zhi woke up. If Lu Jue didn’t have to leave to an important meeting, Ning Zhi felt that she would sleep through the night.

Ning Zhi sat up. She felt soft and weak. Perhaps she had been napping for too long, there was a hint of redness on her fair cheeks and her dark eyes were limpid. She had grown even prettier.

Ning Zhi was like a blooming flower right now and one look from her would attract others.

Suddenly, there was a knocking on the door followed by the milky voice of a child.

It was her son.
