Marriage Rights: Billionaire's Forgotten Wife

Chapter 100 - Dangerous Problems

Yang Chen hummed in agreement. "We just don't like each other." He explained to the Chief of Police.

"Oh? So you are already investigating him? Did he cause Mo Che's abduction? If that is the case, then his father is just a casualty. Perhaps Yu Han falling from the plan is not included in the plan." The Chief deduced.

Looking at the Chief with amus.e.m.e.nt, "You assumed that because I know him?" Yang Cheng chuckled. "Sorry to break it you, but he is just a victim just like everyone else. Still, I do not like him."

Yang Cheng primary mission is to get close to Mo Lihua, who is the only one who was able to live outside the Doncrelli Family despite her being so favored by the previous head of the family. So they say.

Doncrelli Family is currently the most notorious group that is said to have a connection to drug cartels, illegal production of firearms that are smuggled even to first world countries. They operate silently under legally established companies that some are even part of the fortune 500. There are also shell companies that are also covering up their activities and tracks.

There is also rumors that the family is also funding assassination groups and special research for human experimentation. Which make Yang Cheng a little worried as the first part of human experimentation is brainwashing then advance hypnotism.

If that is true, then the people working for Doncrelli Family would not accept reason and will fight for what they are forced to believe it.

Also for Yang Cheng, if a special agent like him was already assigned to such investigation, it only means that the scale of the illegal activities that Doncrelli Family is currently involved is already so big that cannot be fixed by just one country alone.

With that, the help and involvement of the International Arbitration Force are already needed.

The other agents found it weird to trail Mo Lihua, who seems to be avoiding the Doncrelli Family instead of directly infiltrating the said family.

Yang Cheng is just glad that he just started interacting with Mo Lihua and there are already unfortunate events that do not require him to wait for so long. Something is happening with the Doncrelli Family for them to take action ignoring the news and scandal it will create.

"Keep monitoring Mr. Yu. You dispatched someone to monitor Yu Han as well, right?" Yang Cheng asked that earn a nod from the Chief of Police.

The chief asked, "How about that Fei Yan? You don't want someone to monitor her?"

"With her blindness, there is no way she would be useful for Mo Lihua. I want you to investigate how she survived the abduction instead." Yang Cheng noted then stood up to leave the office.

"Thank you for your cooperation. I will make sure to include these details on my report for the higher-ups."

Earlier at Mo Family Home…

Mo Lihua had just gotten ready for bed when there was a knock on her door. She hadn't said much since she saw Yu Qiao.

She was too distracted about everything that had happened, and she knew her father had to have been taken captive by someone in the family — another leverage point for her to give in and let everything go.

Even though she is already determined to fight, Mo Lihua is still worried about the people around her. Especially those that were hurt just because someone wants to gain power and will not care if people's lives are sacrificed for it.

Mo Lihua had spent most of her time at home, pondering different options. Piore even had the decency to joke around with her while the man is trying to track down the whereabouts of the temporary head of Doncrelli Family, who is their uncle.

Piore even joked about her marrying a poor man, and perhaps that would make her exiled, which would be better than dead. But that honestly, didn't protect her, and now that her father was missing the leveraging points were most likely in favor of the opposing side.

Even if she is considering the possibility of marrying someone, she didn't know any poor men off hand and honestly preferred to marry Yu Qiao on her selfish whim. That would be stupid to do thought as she is trying to push him away so he won't get involved with her dangerous problems.

'As if that is possible!' Mo Lihua thought to herself. Piore would most likely stop a wedding without his consent. At least he couldn't keep tabs on her mind.

Mo Lihua grabbed her phone and failed to notice that it is already out of battery. After connecting it on a charger, she turned it on, and the phone buzzed to life. Immediately text messages came in. Then the voicemail notifications popped up on her screen.

'Are you there?' Yu Qiao demanded on the first message.

'Please contact me back!' The next voicemail. Mo Lihua is confused. Why would Yu Qiao keep on trying to reach her?

'I wanted to make sure you are alright. Please call me back.'

'Please. Please call me back and let me know you are okay.'

'I need to know you are alright.'

Mo Lihua continued to listen to his messages of worry. She lifted the phone to her ear, rewinding the voicemail recording. Yu Qiao's voice sounded over the speaker. Fear and sadness were evident.

She listened to his message continuously, and every time it breaks her heart. Unlike her that has Angelo, Rita or Piore to help despite the latter being hard to cooperate with, Yu Qiao does not have anyone.

Deciding to let Yu Qiao know that she is alright, Mo Lihua sent a short cold message. She does not want to but needs to. The more he gets himself involve with her business, the more he will be in danger.

Mo Lihua just sent the message when Yu Qiao called. With the way he is speaking, she is pretty that he is drunk. Then the line cut off with the bang.

With worry, Mo Lihua did not think twice and decided to check on Yu Qiao personally.
