Xie shi frowned. “Are you saying that he has been tricked by Su Zheng?” 

Gao Sanfu nodded.  

Xie shi asked, “Why would Su Zheng scheme against Xie Xian? Do they have any grudges?” 

“Taitai, did you forget about er guniang’s marriage? Maybe Su gongzi tricked Xie gongzi for er guniang.” 

Xie shi’s face sank. “The marriage between Gu jia and Xie jia has been strictly kept a secret from beginning to end. How could Gu Jiu and Su Zheng know about it?” 

Gao Sanfu said, “Perhaps a servant spoke by mistake which spread to er guniang’s ears.”

Xie shi sneered, smiling. “Gu Ting is an idiot. If he can’t even handle an idiot, what’s the use of keeping him? As for the guards, it is a simple matter. You tell Xie Xian that if he is unable to do this, he should straightaway get out of Jinzhou.” 

“It is taitai who is very thorough.” 

Xie shi waved her hand. “Hurry up, I’m also tired.” 

“This servant withdraws. Taitai should take care of your body and wait for the good news.” 

Xie shi muttered, “En. You must absolutely not let me down this time.” 

Chun He crouched down and beat Xie shi’s legs.  

She secretly observed Xie shi’s expression. “Taitai has been tired all day. Do you want to eat something? The kitchen has stewed duck soup today which is nourishing.” 

Xie shi said, “En.” 

Chun He immediately instructed the servants, “Quickly bring a bowl of soup for taitai.” 

The little maid obeyed and left.  

The duck soup arrived but Xie shi didn’t drink it so the maid left it on the table. 

Xie shi narrowed her eyes, as if asleep. Some time later, she suddenly asked, “Is Yue’er alright?” 

Chun He whispered, “Replying to taitai, san guniang has shut herself in her room and copying the family rules.” 

Xie shi nodded, satisfied.  

“Has returned?”  

“Liu shaoye is still at the academy and hasn’t returned yet.” 

Thinking of her beloved son, Xie shi smiled.  

Chun He secretly exhaled, relaxing. Taitai had finally smiled. Thank heavens that the sky had cleared after the downpour. 

“Would er guniang have reached Tianmen Temple?” Xie shi said, opening her eyes.  

Chun He lowered her head, saying, “Calculating the time, she should have almost reached.” 

Xie shi’s brows raised in delight, her eyes laughing. “It’s good to finally reach.”
