Lyricist: Her Revenge

Chapter 85 - A night entirely for the two

The latter part of the ride was a silent one. They had canceled the movie date, & instead decided on a dinner date. The car stopped in front of their favorite restaurant- Cheesy Bites.

As a gentleman he was, Aaron stepped down from the car before & helped Cath out. Her dress dragged along her feet. When she was led in, she saw that the hall was decorated with chandeliers & bouquets. Unlike the other days, no people were around.

"What happened? Why are there no people around?" She turned to speak but she realized that she was speaking to thin air.

With the addition, the lights were suddenly turned off, plunging her into darkness.

"Aaron?" she called softly. It was not that she was in any way afraid of the dark. It's just that he feared Aaron had dumped her.

Suddenly, a flashlight burned up above her as the strong light as it tailed her. Another flashlight beamed opposite her. Aaron was standing in front of her. Under the lights, he looked like Michelangelo's magnum opus. Aaron had the same thoughts when he saw her under the dazzling lights. He was blinded, blinded by her beauty!

He surged forward with the light following him. He lifted his palm towards her, "May I?"

Cath looked at him with stars in her eyes. As if hypnotized, she placed her one hand on the nook of his palm, while the other hand on his shoulder. Aaron smiled at her before placing his other hand on her hip. With a swift movement, he pulled her close.

Their breaths exchanged & their gazes locked onto each other. Somewhere in the background, a violin started playing slowly. Aaron & Cath moved as the lights followed closely. Their movements were slow yet elegant. It seemed they had all the time in the world. Or rather, the time had just stopped for them. They swayed gently across the giant room, which contained the seating tables. They were replaced by nothing. Only the two of them, accompanied by the sound of the soulful playing of the violin.

...

They stayed like that for 20 minutes, slowly spending time in each other's company. After the dance, Aaron slowly led her upstairs to the balcony. Cath looked at everything in awe. She had to admit that this man was a subtle thinker. His works were precise & to the point. She glanced at the man beside her. He had a faint smile on his face as he glanced around the place. she moved closer to him. Nothing followed rather than deafening silence.

She turned her face to say something. Only then, she realized that she had moved too close as he had also turned his head. It seemed that he, also, wanted to say something. Their lips were only a breath away. She was stunned for a moment before she turned her flushed face away. She immediately glanced down.

But the next moment, a warm palm was pressed to her face & Aaron made her look into his eyes. Her lips parted gently as his thumb grazed her lips delicately. His palm slid down to the nook of her neck before he pulled her closer.
