Lyricist: Her Revenge

Chapter 45 - She provoked me

Somewhere in the city

Two women were having a heated argument in the dark room. Only a little light was pouring in through a peephole.

"Sis, please! Because of you, my daughter will misunderstand me."

"Lilith!", the woman glared at the one called Lilith, "You're Chairman Adley's woman. Isn't that enough?"

"Just because Jones refused to marry you, you had to kill him!", Lilith cried out.

"Of course, I had to", the woman sneered, "I'm not like you who gets everything in her hand from the moment she is born."

"Sis! You've been taking my place all these years!" Lilith talked back, "Even in the Adley Mansion."

"Who told you to be my twin sister?"

"Not only that, you tried killing my daughter!"

"So what? You promised responsibility for anything I do, didn't you?"

"But...", Lilith protested.

"Why to bother?", the woman shrugged nonchalantly, "The case is already closed."

Lilith closed her eyes. She knew Alice heard everything that this woman spoke that night. Not only that, she had sent a framed photo too.

Lilith didn't want to waste any time on convincing her sister. She walked out & played the video recording again. This time she would not let her sister escape unscathed. She would not let her do anything to Alice. Yeah, they were alike, but Lilith had a birthmark on her forehead, which that woman didn't have.

Cheesy Bites

The sky was already dark when they entered the restaurant. This was Cath's favorite restaurant. A restaurant where she never ate before. The restaurant was lively with customers. Warm lights filled the interior of the restaurant.

"How can this restaurant become your favorite when you haven't eaten here?". Alice raised a questioning eyebrow.

"I mean", Cath raised her hands above her belly, "I've eaten here before, but not on my own."

"...", Alice was speechless.

"I had a dream to eat here on my own", Cath sat down on the nearest table, "And here I'm treating you for a meal."

"That's the spirit!", Alice pats her on her shoulder as she took a seat beside her.

Soon, the waiter approached them with a small notepad, to take the order. Cath looked at Alice & she nodded before saying, "Two fried rice & mixed vegetables."

The waiter wrote it down carefully before leaving. Cath winked at Alice before saying, "That guy, he looked awesome."

"Go & cling onto him!", Alice rolled her eyes.

"Of course! I'll get to eat free of cost!"

"Idiot!", Alice huffed, "He's just a waiter, not the owner."

"Who knows if he's the owner?", Cath smiled wickedly.

"...", This girl!

"Oh come on!", Cath smiled at her hilarious expression.

The same waiter came & served them their dishes. The two of them dig in.

"The food is...", Cath spoke with a mouthful, "Just awesome."

"Mmm", Alice nodded without looking.

Very soon, they were done & left after the paid their bills.

...

At the parking lot

There were not many people around. Alice & Cath smiled & chatted happily on the way to their car. Of course, they had to report their day to their respective managers. When they reached near the car, Alice bumped head-on into a lady, standing nearby.

"Sorry!", Alice apologized.

"You...", the lady viciously gritted her teeth, ready to fight!

Cath pulled her back immediately, but the lady grabbed Alice by her collar, "How dare you hit me? Do you know who I'm?"

"No, I don't know", Alice shrugged nonchalantly.

Cath whispered in her ear, "Stop it!"

"Why would I?", Alice spoke loudly as possible, "She provoked me despite my apologies."
