The next morning

Alice wore a black crop top paired with a long denim jacket. Beneath it, she wore a black jeans. Her short hair was tied into a neat ponytail. Since she had recently gained a lot of popularity, Daniel advised her to put on a disguise. She pulled on a black mask & pulled her shades. Daniel had arranged a car for her. She boarded it under his careful gaze. He reminded her to call him once she reached there.

Brigand Mansion

Rose's death was kept secret until the funeral. When Alice reached there, the first thing she did was to inform Daniel about her safety. Stepping into the spacious garden, Alice fell into a déja vù. Just a month ago, she had come here for the girl's birthday. It was hard to imagine that a month later, she's here for her funeral. She took a deep breath & entered deeper. She saw the Brigand's closest relatives & friends present there. Madam Brigand soon approached her & handed her some candles. She lit some candles as a memorial tribute. The other part of the garden was where the family ancestors were buried. Rose's coffin was shut closed as they took her & placed her in the w.o.m.b of the earth.

After the ceremony, Alice went to report to the agency. As soon as she entered, she's informed that her 'manager' had called. She walked towards the door & knocked at it.

"Come in", came his deep voice.

Alice pushed the door open & entered it. When Daniel saw her, a bright smile spread across his face, "Sit!"

Alice sat down on the chair opposite him. Then he pushed forward some heap of doc.u.ments. Alice eyed them suspiciously, "What's this?"

"Some invitations from reality shows & a request from Zach Schultz, to record a duet with him. Check through them once & confirm which one would you like to go", now he really sounded like a manager. Her eyes lit up when she heard the famous pop idol's name.

"Of course, I'm ready to record a duet with Zach Schultz. And about the reality shows...," her soft brows scrunched together in a thin line as she flipped through the stack of papers.

Daniel observed her facial expression closely. So, the girl is excited about recording playback with Zach Schultz? His expression darkened when he thought that another man would eye upon her.

"This one...", Alice pointed to a yellow envelope.

Daniel picked it up. He frowned.

This dummy! She chose what? A reality game show! Where she needs to choose a partner!? Seeing his darkened expression, she pouted, "What? Are the show's ratings bad?"

"No! But you need to choose a male partner in the show."

Hearing this, Alice smirked, "Are you jealous?"

"Is that even a question?"

"So? What are you gonna do?"

"I've arranged an assistant for you. She'll help me keep an eye on you", Daniel smirked back.

"Interesting. Who's she?" she raised her brow.

"Come in!", Daniel spoke & a girl a little younger than she entered. She was wearing two pigtails with a combination of short frock & bunny slippers. Her facial features were delicate. She scrutinized her from top to bottom.

"So? You're planning to be my assistant?", Alice rose to her feet & walked towards the girl.

The girl shrank back into a corner. Literally speaking, she was scared!

"You're scaring her!" , Daniel was too surprised to sense her unnatural aura.

"Am I?",she faced the girl.

"N...n...no!",the girl stammered.

"See?",she glanced at him before turning towards the girl, "What's your name?"

"Amy."

"Hmm...", she turned to him, "What's first? Recording or reality shows?"

"You focus on the recording. If it's successful, you have the chance to dominate the international market."

"Hmm...are we signing a contract?"

"Yeah, today's evening."

Alice nodded & looked at Amy, "Brace yourself for the evening!"

Amy was dumbfounded before she followed her out of the room.

Alice came to the room assigned to her. It gave comfy & homey vibes. Maybe, because her Darling was here. She sat in front of her desk & pulled out a notebook. She wrote a few lines before she raised her head to look at the girl standing opposite her. She stood up and walked towards the girl. The girl backed in fear.

"Let's go ", Alice hooked her arms around her neck.

"Where?",Amy asked with surprise.

City Mall

Alice parked her black BMW in the underground parking slot. Amy gaped at everything with awe. She followed Alice behind quietly after she got down.

Alice boarded the lift & Amy followed behind. So, this was where the rich lived? Amy took in everything with interest. She was so absorbed that she didn't notice where Alice was & bumped into her back.

Alice turned to look, "Are you okay? Look where you are going."

Amy nodded & realized they were standing outside a garment shop that had the most beautiful dresses and gowns she'd ever seen.

"Pick something for yourself", Alice added.

"Huh!?",Amy was stunned. Why'd famous star care about a mere assistant?

"The boss has selected you, right? Although I'm not in the pinnacle of the music industry, someday I will be. So, my assistant deserves respect & she must learn it."

Amy blinked a few times & saw that Alice had already entered the shop. She hurriedly went in.

"Bring all the dresses from the shelf for her."

"But...", Amy hesitated. She couldn't imagine the amount of money she would have to pay back.

"You don't have to pay me back", Alice spoke as she gauzed the dresses. She continued, "You're too shabby, you know."
