Chapter 30: Here Comes Aunt

Just then, the game ended. They had a landslide win.

Qu Ling’er did not mind shielding others—she could win anyway. She turned on the voice chat and asked, “Do you want to continue? If you do, then get prepared. I can still play two rounds.”

“What are you busy with?” Old Leopard asked. “We’re going out tomorrow. Do you want to join us?”

Qu Ling’er blurted out, “Nope!”

“Aren’t you bored by yourself?” Old Leopard said coyly, “Come join us and I’ll treat you to delicious food. How about that?”

“No, I don’t want to go out.” Qu Ling’er wanted to stay in the house.

When Luo Yichen heard Qu Ling’er’s words, he suddenly wanted to abandon his work and go home immediately.

Seeing that he couldn’t get Qu Ling’er to join them, Old Leopard sighed and said, “Aren’t you afraid of cabin fever staying at home every day? Where have you been staying these few days anyway?”

“Why do you have so many questions?” Qu Ling’er said, “If you want to continue playing, get ready.”

Old Leopard then kept quiet and prepared for the game.

The others knew that the two of them had met in private—Old Leopard had the highest regard for Qu Ling’er and adored her like a goddess.

Qu Ling’er started another round of the game and realized that the player named Ling Chen was still following behind her as usual. He was really slacking off as best as he could.

It was almost 8 p.m. by the time they completed three winning rounds.

Ling Chen requested to add Qu Ling’er as a friend—Qu Ling’er immediately agreed—she saw no harm in that.

Qu Ling’er stayed at Luo Yichen’s house for another five days. Luo Yichen would occasionally send Qu Ling’er a message, but he was busy most of the time.

Luo Yichen had been very busy—he visited a few cities within a few days.

Qu Ling’er was busy too. Previously, she had been able to apply for many things due to her being a minor. Now, she is set to work on these applications.

Qu Ling’er was completing a mission in the study when the doorbell rang one day. She walked to the door in bewilderment and looked through the peephole—there was a woman standing outside.

The woman stood calmly outside, carrying many things in her hands. Qu Ling’er had seen her before—she was Luo Xiao’s wife!

Qu Ling’er hesitated for a moment before opening the door.

He Yuhong was not surprised to see her. Instead, she said playfully, “If you don’t open the door, I’m going to call a certain someone and ask if you’ve left.”

She entered the house—put down her things—took out a shoe cover from the shoe cabinet and put it on. Then, she walked to the living room and sat on the sofa; she waved at Qu Ling’er and smiled. “Come here. I came especially to see you.”

Qu Ling’er was astonished. This woman actually knew that she was staying at Luo Yichen’s house. So, she knew Luo Yichen too?

Qu Ling’er said, “Let me get you a glass of water.”

He Yuhong waved her hand. “No need. I just want to chat with you. I’ll be leaving soon.”

Qu Ling’er was taken aback for a moment before she walked over and sat beside the woman.

The woman looked her over and smiled. “You don’t have to be nervous. Although I’m Luo Xiao’s wife, I’m also Ah Chen’s aunt.”

Ah Chen? That was Brother’s name? Qu Ling’er pursed her lips and said, “Thank you for before.”

She finally understood. Luo Yichen had recognized Luo Xiao from the first time they were at the Qinglan clubhouse. That was why he went into the private room to take the memory card after everyone left. Later, when Luo Xiao called the police on her, it was also Luo Yichen who informed his aunt to go to the police station to help her. Subsequently, when Luo Yichen called her when she was at the hospital—he had guessed that she was in trouble—and asked his aunt to help. It turned out that he had been helping her since the first time they met.

Seeing the uneasiness on Qu Ling’er’s face, He Yuhong said gently, “Don’t be nervous. My name is He Yuhong. Ah Chen’s mother is my cousin; I watched Ah Chen grow up. Since he’s so protective of you, I definitely have to help him.”

Qu Ling’er pursed her lips and wanted to ask some questions, but she did not say anything. She still did not know his full name at this point. She did find him familiar, but she did not investigate who he was. She suddenly realized that she really knew nothing about him.

“I know a little about your situation. It must be hard on you to have such a family.” He Yuhong said, “This is my number. If you encounter any difficulties in the future, call me.” As she spoke, she took out a business card from her bag and handed it to Qu Ling’er.

Qu Ling’er took the business card and nodded. “Thank you.”

“There’s no need to stand on ceremony.” He Yuhong stood up with a smile. “Alright, I still have something on, so I’ll leave first. I bought you some food. Don’t forget to eat.”

Seeing that He Yuhong was about to leave, Qu Ling’er hurriedly stood up to send her off.
