Loving With My Mind

Chapter 14 - Jump

Zhao Mingzhe looked up. "We can do that..." Then he frowned. "But it's a fine day today and you only want to stay indoors?" he asked.

Han Yixin looked over the veranda and saw children and a.d.u.l.ts alike, enjoying the morning sun, strolling around the gardens and swimming in the outdoor pools.

It would be a pity to remain inside their hotel room during such a nice weather.

She raised an eyebrow as she looked up at him. "Where are we going then?"

He grinned. "You better get changed in something...more comfortable." He pushed her gently, maneuvering her towards the walk-in closet.

"Something comfy?" She looked back at him before entering the closet.

"Hmmn!" He nodded enthusiastically.

"Okay..." She stepped into the closet and opened the wardrobe. She looked at all the clothes. 'The most comfortable would be...' Her hand stopped on an area.

He was reading the local newspaper on the couch when she was done showering and changing. She came out in a pink sweater with dog pawprint design. She paired it with a pair of black jeggings and black running shoes with white soles.

He chuckled. "You like dogs?" He placed the newspaper on the coffee table.

"I do." she nonchalantly replied.

He stood up and walked towards the closet. As they met halfway, he paused.

"Show me the dog when we visit your parents."

"It's not in City B." She frowned.

"Huh? Where do you keep it then? You have other properties?" He had an exaggerated gasp. "We have a dog at home that I don't know about?!" He looked like an idi**.

She squinted at him in annoyance.

"What were you smoking awhile ago?"

With this, he had a hearty laugh.

When he calm himself from laughing, she continued the dog conversation.

"My sister is allergic to animal dander. My dog is in Country F. I miss him so much." She pouted.

He felt a little bad for her. He knew she was a bit acting up, but missing the dog looked true.

He scratched his nape. "You have a photo?"

Her eyes lit up and tapped on her phone.

Soon she almost shoved her phone to his face with so much delight in her face.

"This is Oxford. Isn't he cute?!" Her eyes were full of anticipation.

He had to back away a little to better look at the screen.

"Is that a husky?" Zhao Mingzhe noted the black and white pattern of the fluffy fur. The dog is only a puppy in the photo.

"How dare you?! My baby is an Alaskan Malamute!" She took back her phone immediately. Oh how she missed cuddling with her ball of fur.

"Oxford?" he asked. "Not Brogues?" he chuckled.

"Who in their right mind would prefer brogues over an oxford? That's why I called him Oxford. Everybody else is Brogues to me."

His eyes twitched when he heard her being more affectionate to a dog than towards him.

However, he had to admit that even for him, it is oxfords over brogues at any day.

He admitted defeat. "Fine. We'll go back to Country F one of these days to fetch him." He was about to stride away.

She latched onto his arm. "Really?!" It was really hard to process papers to take pets for air travel. However, since her husband proposed it, Oxford might even get to ride a private jet.

This time, it was his turn to squint his eyes towards her. "Really. Now, let go of me so I can get changed too."

She finally let go and she cheerfully sat on the sofa and turned on the television.

The bakers in the reality show contest had just started mixing their batter manually when Zhao Mingzhe called out.

"Xiao Xin, let's go." He was in a dark blue sweatshirt and black jogging pants. He wore the matching running shoes.

Soon, they arrived at the entrance of the tallest tower in the city.

"Woah...is there a restaurant inside?" she asked as she alighted the car after him.

Zhao Mingzhe was about to laugh but he kept it in. This woman's mind is filled with food.

"I prefer not to eat just yet." he replied.

"Why? We did not even have breakfast yet." she asked as the elevator ascended. She remembered that he did not even drink his morning dose of coffee. She actually worried about him. His breakfast was a cigarette stick.

Soon, they were harnessed and was able to walk near the edge of the tower.

"Nice view! This is the best view of the city, right?" she asked a staff randomnly.

"Yes...yes it is." the staff politely replied.

Zhao Mingzhe held her hand as they walked. He can never allow her to slip.

As they stared at the daytime cityscape, he cleared his throat.

"Xiao Xin, are you jealous?" he suddenly asked.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Were they not admiring the view? Should she be jealous of the people living here? She was confused.

"Are you jealous at my ex whom you have yet to meet?" He had a teasing smile.

"No, I'm not." she harrumphed.

"Really?" He had arrived at the platform for bungee jump. The assigned staff started reinforcing his harness.

"Hey, you're jumping?!" She had an incredulous look.

He came closer to her and whispered, "I'll ask again, are you jealous?"

"I'm not jealous!" Han Yixin shouted, trying to overcome the strong wind.

"Han Yixin, I'm gonna jump now. If are telling the truth, then I will survive this." He went over the platform, ready to jump.

Her eyes widened as she realized that he was betting his life on her words. What if she really jinxed it? He will die!

Zhao Mingzhe gestured a 'goodbye' sign with his hand. He was about to jump off.

To the horror of the staff, Han Yixin bolted towards him and grabbed him by his shirt.

It would be dangerous if both of them fell together.

"Enough! Don't say such things!" she scolded. "I was jealous, alright!" she blurted out.

His teasing smile became gentler but wider.

The next moment, he pecked on her lips before jumping by himself.
