Loving A Triple Threat

Chapter 42 - The Genius Idiot

Gi surveyed the café with her keen eyes, it was mostly empty on a Sunday afternoon, which was strange. Sitting beside her was Suzie with Misha across the table. They had decided to catch up after their music recital. Gi played her violin while Misha blew on her clarinet. Suzie was in a large band, and she just stood there looking good, while hitting a symbol every minute or so.

"It's nice not to have to rush to evening classes, for once," Misha stated.

Suzie kicked Gi's violin case and instead of apologising she said, "Can you move that?"

Gi bent down and moved her case away from Suzie's feet. It was a precious item that she usually never let out of her locker, but the recital had been off campus.

Suzie was busy texting.

"Who are you texting?" Misha asked.

"Hyuk," Suzie replied.

"Aren't they playing basketball?" Gi asked.

Suzie stated, "Yes, but he needs to come straight here afterwards."

Misha shrugged at Gi. They had not gone to the basketball game, although it was an important game for Hyuk, while Seok was always on the bench, so probably not for him. The girls couldn't attend and support the boys because of the clash of schedules. Even Ren was supporting his school in the finals.

Gi was slightly confused, "Why wouldn't we just go there?"

"Because we already ordered silly," Suzie replied.

The pair nodded in agreement as their salads and water arrived.

Gi looked at Suzie's coffee, "What is that?" She asked.

"Espresso, no calories," Suzie explained. "Try one."

Gi sniffed, "It's tiny and it's black."

"No milk, but it's good for caffeine," Suzie replied. Caffeine was well known to be a hunger suppressant. Gi was used to being hungry so it didn't concern her anymore. She would drink water while sticking to fish and vegetables for food.

"No Thanks," Gi replied

Ren would come after the match as well and Gi was not looking forward to it. She sighed remembering her meeting with Mr Tong.

"What's wrong?" Misha asked, sensing her friend's sigh.

Gi shook her head," Doesn't matter."

Suzie's head shot up immediately - when she was told there was a story - but it wasn't to be shared - her curiosity got the better of her. "Spill!" She demanded.

Gi sighed again.

"Or I will tell Ren all about Sena, how handsome he is. And Officer Ruek, how you threw yourself at him." Suzie threatened.

"Geez Suzie," Misha said disapprovingly.

Gi looked at her phone, Ren was on his way, she had to talk about it now, "YG told me I can't have a boyfriend and I don't know how to tell Ren."

Suzie laughed and said, "Idiot."

Gi got angry, there was one idiot here and it wasn't her, "Shut it. You have no idea."

Suzie laughed harder and harder.

Misha was uncomfortable, "Suzie stop. That's not nice, can't you see she has a real problem?"

Suzie laughed even louder and thumped the table.

She finally got her laughter under control. "Gi, you may get straight As but you are stupid."

"Explain," Gi said with a terse tone.

Suzie smiled sweetly at her rival, "Because you are such a goodie two shoes it never occurred to you that you could pretend to do what they say and then do another thing entirely! Like, right now you should take photos with the three of us at a café. That's what they want right?"

Gi nodded.

Suzie continued, "Hurry - before the boys get here and leave evidence like plates, shadows etcetera."

Gi took some snaps as Suzie suggested and the asked, "So, continue to date Ren?"

"Or whoever you want, just hide it from them," Suzie replied. "You really don't have any idea how things work do you?"

Gi shook her head and responded, "Obviously not."

A few minutes after the café snaps were completed Suzie asked, "As payment, you can ask your stupid mods to start tagging me."

"And me," Misha added.

Suzie looked at Misha, "What did you do?"

Misha smiled, "I look pretty and am much less likely to cause a scandal."

"Pfft," Suzie scoffed, "only because your boyfriend has no balls."

Misha looked defensive but before she could reply Ren asked, "Who's boyfriend has no balls."

"Stop sneaking up on me Ren!" Gi exclaimed.

He laughed in response, "I can't help it if I can hear you three from fifty paces."

Hyuk and Seok ran into the café. Hyuk looked around desperately and when he saw Suzie he ran over to the table, "Suzie," he breathed heavily, "is everything okay?"

Suzie looked confused and responded, "Sure. Why?"

Hyuk held up his phone. There was a text from Suzie stating, "I need you!"

"Oh that," Suzie smiled shyly, "to pay the bill. I didn't want you to be late."

Hyuk landed down next to Suzie in a heap and flopped himself onto the table in exhaustion.

Seok took his place next to Misha and stated, "Hyuk's worn out. He played a hard game and then ran here as fast as he could."

Misha smiled, "And you kept up?"

Seok nodded, "I didn't play. I never get off the bench."

They were both wearing their basketball uniforms, and while Hyuk was covered in sweat, grime and his uniform was dishevelled. Seok looked to be in pristine condition.

Misha gave Seok a congratulatory cuddle and she beamed, "You kept up. Well done."

Ren chuckled at the scene, "It was a good game. They won against Seirin High."

Gi smiled, "That's awesome," she said, "so are you in the final now?"

Hyuk shook his head on the table and Seok replied, "No it's a finals tournament, we've played two games and have one to go before we get out of the rounds."

"We?" Hyuk cried, "you haven't had one-minute court-time."

Seok nodded smiling, "And yet I will get a trophy the same as you if we win." He then added, "Hyuk has played over seventy-two minutes today and we still have one game to go in an hour."

"Really?" Gi asked. "We should go and watch!" She directed her statement to Misha and Suzie.

"Okay!" Misha agreed.

"Nah, I'm good," Suzie replied.

"Suzie!" Gi exclaimed, "show your man some support!"

Suzie smiled weakly, "I'm busy tonight. You know, assignments." And she winked at Gi.

Gi's mouth opened in shock and horror.

Ren was aware of what Suzie was trying to communicate, Seok was naïve and Hyuk still had his head down on the table in exhaustion.

"There are boys, tall, muscular boys playing hard. Their shorts are tight and when they bend over you can see almost everything," Ren said mischievously.

"What time is it?" Suzie asked.
