Loving A Triple Threat

Chapter 20 - Zero

"We want zero, We want zero." The chant continued.

A producer finally understood after all the messages sent from the crowd.

The stage went into disarray while they sorted the issue and finally, a zero appeared on the big screen.

"I've been told, it's time to update your apps. Close them and reopen," Big Wang wasn't very funny when he repeated exactly what the producer, in his ear, told him.

The routine had finished, but the board was still live.

It may have been because it was now funny, votes disappeared and reappeared, and new ones who hadn't voted before all went to zero.

The crowd spontaneously cheered at his numbers smashed the board.

Big Wang smiled, "Now that my friends are what we call going from Zero to Hero." Everyone laughed, Big Wang was back on track. He looked around for Zero, but the contestant was as far as possible from Big Wang as they could get and still remain on the stage.

"Okay, its time for some copy choreography," Big Wang roared. "We will run an MV from a current, or former, top group on the big screen, only the once for them to watch and learn. And while the hopefuls will study the first time, and the second time they will perform!"

The crowd gasped, that was impossible.

"Don't worry," Big Wang chuckled. "The good ones know them most of them by heart." He turned to the hopefuls, "Isn't that right Treasure Box Hopefuls?"

They responded by moving like mimes. Striking a pose. They were all gathered in a corner, like a flash mob ready to pounce.

But Zero walked to the middle of the stage and cupped his arms wide, he was mimicking being fat like Big Wang, and he waddled around the stage. It was hilarious. Big Wang could say nothing. Zero was a hero after all.

The crowd went wild. They laughed at the massive disrespect that was only possible due to anonymity, but the fact that it was zero made it sweeter. Zero had swag.

Big Wang went red. He lost his place for a moment. He could deal with a heckler, he was a pro, but how could he deal with a mime? And a good one at that.

Big Wang moved across the stage to present, he waddled slightly as was his fashion. The crowd laughed. Big Wang wondered why they laughed, he noticed something in the corner of his eye and turned to his left to look behind him.

The crowd went wild with laughter.

Big Wang couldn't see what they were laughing at. He looked to stage left, a gaggle of producers were pointing and looking behind him.

But he just looked behind there himself and nothing was there.

He turned to his right.

The crowd shrieked with laughter. He had never made a crowd laugh, so uncontrollably, hard.

"What's funny?" he said over the mic. The producer tried to stop him but the question was so quick, they didn't have a chance to instruct through his ear then her heard the producer.

"Zero is behind you," in his ear and from across the stage at the same time.

Big Wang was now mad, and he circled.

The crowd was in hysterics.

Big Wang only just saw Zero briefly, he was so quick he tumbled around Big Wang as he turned. So fast Big Wang couldn't keep up.

Suzie hit Hyuk, but he didn't care. He couldn't remember the last time he laughed so hard. Suzie only hit him because she was dying of laughter and lost control of her limbs.

Finally, when she got it under control Big Wang spun looking for Zero, Zero was too quick. He rolled like a pro. It was a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu technique. Suzie had seen Gi do it many times, the girl pissed her off when she showed off her special moves. Suzie needed a social life, Gi trained on weekends. She was a machine.

"Has Gi texted again?" She asked the group.

"Jae-Sun is sending smiley faces. It's totally freaking me out," Misha said.

"Why would he do that?" Seok asked looking at Misha's group chat on her phone.

Zero finally relented and let Big Wang continue. It was a good strategy he quit while he was ahead.

"Only three are out, but I think Zero will win already," Seok said.

Misha shook her head, "He has no respect. Watch they will punish him somehow. Unless…"

"Do you think it was planned?" Suzie asked.

"I don't," Seok said, "Big Wang was humiliated. He wouldn't agree to that, and now it's the biggest laugh of the night. This is a mess for Big Wang."

"He deserves it," the two girls said together. "The Creep," Misha added. She had finally connected with Gi and this creep leers at her on stage, she would fight for her rival, turned ally.

The first song played, and it was a YG boy band of course. It was an old Big Bang number and if the hopefuls couldn't do it blindfolded they deserved to be spooned.

3.49 Girlfriend.

The hopefuls performed the moves to perfection. There wasn't any missed choreography that even Suzie or Misha could see. It came down to flair and style.

"Who was the best," Seok asked.

"Probably three, but just vote Zero," Suzie said. No one argued.

Zero's results smashed the board, he almost got more votes than the rest combined. Four more were knocked out Leaving twenty. The stage was getting less crowded.

The baggy overalls didn't seem to affect the dancer's performance at all. In fact, the white colour looked fantastic in the blue, green and red lighting effects.

The songs continued. Mostly songs from iKon and Big Bang, even a special appearance by Sechs Kies, an old school group which really challenged the dancers even Zero struggled.

"Has zero won anymore?" Hyuk asked Suzie.

"Nah, but he's really good. He has a style that's unique, some of the others all look the same. If I was management, I would choose him based on personality and style alone."

"Wow, you know a lot about this," Hyuk praised Suzie.

She got angry, "Of course I do! It's my life."

Hyuk sighed, acting surprised she was knowledgeable was a big mistake.

"Last four," Misha breathed. "Close to working out who Zero is?"

"I don't know," Suzie said honestly, and the strange thing was they should. She knew who three and nine were. It was easy. But zero was an enigma.

"Two more votes to go!" Big Wang shouted. "Okay three, first you need to vote on next song. Hit one, two or three as soon as they appear."

The three songs were all Blankpink songs, and as the girls walked out onto the stage, the voting began.

The crowd went absolutely crazy. A combo.

"Blackpink will sing, and out Treasure Box hopefuls will dance!" Big Wang exclaimed.

The song choice landed on Whistle. The hardest for a boy Misha thought.

"No choro," Big Wang stated, "This is freeform. But if you boys choose to follow the Blackpink choro, than by all means. Try!"

Zero walked over to Lisa and put his left hand on her head and his right straight up in the air. Lisa smiled and laughed.

Big Wang wondered if Zero was challenging to do Lisa's Choreography.

"I love Zero," Lisa declared, she held her mic to her mouth and everyone watching heard her clearly.

"No no!" Big Wang said. "You must vote for the best dancer, don't influence the vote, Lisa!" Big Wang was fl.u.s.tered.

"I love Zero too," Rose said.

Big Wang thought he would die. The competition was stuffed, and by supporting Zero, the girls were supporting his embarrassment indirectly. They were…

Big Wang stopped. They were punishing him in a very smart way. They were not disrespectful to an elder. But by supporting Zero, the boy who made a fool of him, they were saying they did not approve of his leering, and remarks, during the hot girls' competition.

It all started with Miss Gi Reyn who called him a creep. This night was a disaster. He was sure he would be waking up the next morning, and would have been transformed, into a walking meme. Waddle Creep. Or something similar.

"I love Zero," Jisoo said.

Big Wang was dead. He hung his head down in shame.

"I love Zero," Jennie said.

Big Wang was totally unaware of the crowd at this point. His world crumbled. He dropped his mic and walked off the stage.

The crowd were cheering crazily at Blackpink, who basically ended the competition by declaring for Zero.

They were also confused by Big Wang's departure.

The other three boys walked to the side of the stage. They were probably fine for the next stage of Treasure Box, but Blackpink had just ended the competition. Even if they danced, Zero would get nearly every vote. Even if their moms were here, they would vote for Zero. The best way to save face was to concede the stage, and that's what they did.

Joon made an appearance in the wing of the stage, just standing outside the live area. He had a microphone in hand and looked ready to take over from Big Wang.

"We're not singing Whistle," Jennie said.

Joon looked afraid.

"We got this song from a friend," Jisoo said shockingly. "Took her an hour to write the lyrics and melody. She's very talented."

"An impromptu song from the heart," Rosie chimed in.

Joon shifted from side to side. He was beginning to look very very nervous.

"We would like Zero to dance," Lisa asked, and she turned to Zero. Zero nodded and bowed theatrically. "Dat's good," Lisa said before asking, "Do you have a girlfriend?"

Zero shook his head emphatically. No.

"Ok. Talk, later," Lisa said.

The crowd went mental. A proposal from Lisa on stage. Although most that followed her knew she was most likely joking around. She was a terrible joker. They hoped Zero knew that too before his heart was broken.

Lisa place her mic down carefully as did Rose and they stood either side of Zero.

Jenny looked across at Joon, she didn't look at the crowd, but at the Birthday boy, everyone thought she would announce a song in his honour from a sweetheart, of his, or something.

"The song is called; Revenge," Jennie said

And as she said the word Joon almost fainted, because, not only was the song directed at him by Jennie:

Lisa and Rose ripped off the mask and hoodie from Zero. They then quickly pulled the overalls as her long hair tumbled down to her waist.

Zero was not a Treasure Boy hopeful. Zero was not a boy at all.

Zero was Miss Gi Reyn.
