Soo Min who was initially supporting Ara's body in her arms, pulled out her phone to call one of the ward boys to come help her out.

BAM!

Almost immediately, Soo Min paused in her actions upon hearing the noise of being shots fired, confirming her previous suspicions.

She changed her plans to call the ward boys and hung up, before she quickly dialed 112 into her phone, waiting to be connected.

After that, Soo Min placed the phone inside the side pocket of her navy blue scrubs and leaned Ara's body against the wall, before standing back up and leaving the room.

In the hallway.

Soo Min leaned against the side wall, trying to see what was going on, but at the same time keeping her presence hidden.

"Go and make sure to collect all their phones." Hyeon Dae Hyun instructed to his two lackeys, who immediately acted accordingly.

The entire hospital staff handed their cellphones out of fear of what might happen to them if they retaliate.

When Soo Min looked at the man who just spoke, her attention immediately turned to the figure of a little boy standing next to him.

And a gun was pointed at the little boy's temple!

Out of shock, Soo Min widened her eyes and gasped, but immediately covered her mouth realizing the mistake she did.

'Oh my god! Did they hear me? But that boy! What do I do? I can't just stand here waiting around...' Soo Min frowned wondering what she could do without further worsening the current situation.

Just as she was lost in deep thought, she heard the cl.i.c.k.i.n.g sound of a gun, and when she looked, she saw one of the lackeys with a gun pointed straight to her forehead.

"Boss... we found another one hiding here." Dae Joon informed firmly holding the gun, pointed at Soo Min.

'Damn it.' Soo Min inwardly cursed herself for getting caught, before she was harshly grabbed by the man, who dragged her to where everyone else was.

"Ahhh." Soo Min g.r.o.a.n.e.d in pain, when the perpetrator pushed her to kneel on the floor, feeling her knees scr.a.p.e in the process.

"Boss. She's the one." Dae Joon said before walking back to stand with his other member, Yuk In.

"Hmm... well what do we have here?" Hyeon Dae Hyun took a step towards Soo Min, leaving the little boy unattended.

Soo Min frowned when the man wrapped his fingers around her face and f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y made her look at him, despite her futile attempts to resist.

"Oh! What a surprise indeed. You're the daughter of that infamous businessman. I heard your father had kept you hidden for many years, but just recently revealed your identity." Hyeon Dae Hyun paused as a mocking smile appeared on his lips, before he continued. "Who would have thought that we would win a jackpot today? Isn't that right, boys?"

Dae Joon and Yuk In nodded with that same sinister smile.

"Let's see... how much would your dad give for you? Ooh wait! The fact that he kept your identity a secret for such a long time means that he must really dote you. So looks like it'll be better for us to choose the price." Hyeon Dae Hyun said.

Upon hearing such words, Soo Min scoffed, "Yeah right. He won't spend a single penny on cheap people like you!"

Hyeon Dae Hyun glared at her and tightened his fingers around her face, before he darkly said, "Trying to act smart, eh? I wouldn't recommend that Miss Park. And for the record, I don't think calling us 'cheap' would really make sense when you doctors are the reason why we are in this state."

"What do you mean?" Soo Min almost spoke in a whisper due to his tightened fingers around her jaw area, but her eyes didn't show a hint of fear, rather calmness.

"What do I mean by that you ask?" Hyeon Dae Hyun paused before his eyes trailed to her scrub pocket and narrowed into a slit.

He immediately reached down and snatched the phone from her pocket, shocking Soo Min.

When he looked at the screen, he saw the ongoing call connected to the police, all this time they were being monitored.

Soo Min's body tensed up for a second.

Hyeon Dae Hyun's face darkened before he spoke in an overbearing manner, "Not bad. But I had already warned you before... don't try to act smart with me! Now get ready to face the consequences."

Immediately, he pulled back the slider of the gun and placed the barrel on her forehead, with his hand now on the trigger.

"Say any last words you have." Hyeon Dae Hyun firmly stated.

Soo Min closed her eyes shut and felt her whole body go numb with shock.

'I guess this is it.' She mused.
