Love To Hate Me

Chapter 44 - 44: The New Intern

.....

The Next Day at City Hospital.

As soon as Soo Min stepped into the hospital, she was greeted with a loud applause from the entire hospital staff who were standing at the lobby.

'Oh god. I totally forgot about this.' Soo Min mused. The news of her being the daughter of the infamous businessman Jason Park with the news of her engagement.

But since she had taken a leave so she could prepare for her engagement, she didn't really have time to think about it nor have the need to worry about it.

Although, that was not the case anymore.

"Congratulations on your engagement, Miss Park and welcome back." Director He happily stated as he stepped forward and handed her a bouquet of flowers.

Giving him a weak smile, Soo Min received the flowers and said, "Uh thank you so much Director He, but there's no need for all this. And please treat me like you have done all this while, not as the daughter of Jason Park, but just as an employee of your hospital."

Turning to the rest of the staff, she added, "Please continue to treat me as you have done in the past, and just think of me as the old Dr. Park."

Surprised by this, murmurs erupted through the crowd, but everyone soon stopped talking when Director He said with a smile, "Well, if that's what you want then I have no obligations."

He was grateful to know that Soo Min did not hold any grudge against for her long work hours and his lectures.

The entire hospital staff nodded with a smile, before they all handed their gifts and congratulated Soo Min one by one.

Overwhelmed by the pile of gifts that seemed to grow bigger and bigger by the second, Soo Min found it hard to keep up with the weight, causing her feet to wobble.

"Need some help with that?" Receptionist Ara asked trying to suppress her laughter seeing Soo Min's miserable state.

"T—That would be nice." Soo responded with a muffled voice as the large pile towered over her, covering her face.

Receptionist Ara walked towards Soo Min and grabbed a few gifts and bouquets from the large stack that she was holding.

"Thank you for that." Soo Min breathed a sigh of relief, with the weight on her hands now feeling much lighter.

"Also, there's something else I have for you." Receptionist Ara informed.

"Please no! I don't think I can handle anymore gifts." Soo Min frowned.

"What no. It's not a gift, it's a person. To be more specific an intern, who you're going to be in charge of." Receptionist Ara clarified.

"Oh. Okay. So where is this intern right now?" Soo Min asked.

"He's waiting for you at the HR's office. Come I'll take you to him." Receptionist Ara said and the two of them made their way to the HR's office.

.....

The HR's Office.

"Hey, Amanda. Can we come in?" Receptionist Ara asked as she knocked on the open door.

A young woman who was busy working on her laptop paused glanced at the two people by the door through her glass lenses.

"Oh Receptionist Ara and Dr. Park. Is there anything I can do do you?" Amanda asked getting up from her chair.

"Yeah. Actually I'm here for that new intern who's going to be supervised by Dr. Park here. So I wanted to introduce them to each other." Receptionist Ara informed.

"Right. Let me go get him." Amanda nodded and left towards one of the glass cabins.
