Love To Hate Me

Chapter 39 - 39: The Engagement III

.....

At the Dance Floor.

"Come on, let's go!" Soo Min grabbed the man's hand and led him to the center stage, squeezing passed the crowd.

The music changed to a more happy and upbeat rhythm, with the party lights flickering to the beat.

Uh-huh, you see me in the spotlight,

Ooh, I love your style.

Soo Min stepped to the beat and waved her hands from side to side, before circling her hands around her face.

Then she grabbed the sides of her gown and whirled around, before she turned again and walked towards Ryan, whom she had mistook as her friend, Noah.

Ryan watched her approach him, but just casually tapped his foot to the beat, but immediately frowned when he saw the challenging smirk on her face.

Uh-huh, show me what you got.

'Cause I don't wanna waste my time.

Soo Min grabbed the lapel of his designer suit, and pulled him towards the center, whilst dancing of course.

Ryan wanted to protest but couldn't say anything with everyone's eyes on them. Instead, he took this opportunity to have a little dance competition with her.

Adjusting his outfit a bit, Ryan effortlessly moved his body to the beat and it was as if his hands were moving on their own accord.

'Wow! Since when did Noah become such a good dancer? He was so awful at it during high school.' Soo Min inwardly mused watching the man in the navy blue suit and dark gray mask dance so gracefully.

But she was soon brought back to reality, when Ryan snapped his fingers at her, and pointed to her with his eyebrows, indicating it was her turn.

Tucking a stand of hair behind her ear, Soo Min rhythmically stepped forward swaying her arms around her head down to her waist.

Ryan clapped his hands to the beat and smiled as he watched her dance so elegantly, from the side.

Uh-huh, you see me in the spotlight.

Ooh, I love your style.

Soo Min created a wave like motion with her hand, and ended her step with her finger pointing towards Ryan, who then stepped back into the center and joined her.

He performed a few robotic moves while Soo Min just happily danced jumping to the beat, around him.

The crowd that surrounded them watched them in awe, as the two of them danced perfectly in sync, before Ryan grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him, much to her surprise.

Ryan securely wrapped his hand around her lower back and placed her hand on his shoulder. He swiftly spun around twice along with her, before he swung her backward, dipping her low.

Uh-huh, show me what you got.

Now come and make it worth my while.

Soo Min's eyes fixated on the man's dark blue orbs that were peeking through the small eye openings of the black and silver mask.

Ryan held Soo Min's gaze, as he watched her curly lashes flutter in confusion.

.....

"Oh my god! Why did you have to get some stupid call exactly when I went to go get a drink? Soo Min's going to think that we ditched her especially when we were the ones who forced her to go dance." Olivia complained.

"Hey! Don't drag me into this. You were the one who dragged her there, not me! So don't pin this one me." Noah countered placing his phone back into his pocket.

"Whatever. Let's just hurry up and go, Soo Min's waiting for us." Olivia reminded before the two of them walked back towards the center of the party hall.

Pushing through the crowd, Noah and Olivia successfully made it to the front but their jaws immediately dropped when they saw an unexpected scene in front of them.

"Wait! Wait! Wait! T—That is Soo Min, correct?" Olivia asked in disbelief.

"Yeah, but who is the guy she's dancing with?" Noah inquired. For some odd reason, the man's tall frame and side face looked quite familiar, but due to the mask, Noah could not say for sure.

"I don't have a clue." Olivia responded without shifting her eyes away from the man and Soo Min, before she called out to her friend, "Soo Min!"

Upon hearing a familiar voice, Soo Min turned her head to look at Olivia and Noah standing in the front.

'Wait a second. Noah? If he's over there, then that means this guy is...' Soo Min mused before she turned her attention back to the person in front of her.

She did not need to see what was behind the mask to know who it was, those blue eyes gave away everything.

"Ryan." Soo Min breathed.
