Love To Hate Me

Chapter 3 - 3: Life Savior

.....

Inside The Operation Theatre.

"Go and inform the blood bank for a supply of AB+ blood type." Soo Min instructed one of the nurses who obeyed immediately.

Just a few minutes later the nurse was back with the blood and the surgery began.

Due to the excessive blood loss from the young man's body his oxygen flow had decreased which was the concerning part.

Soo Min and the entire medical crew fought relentlessly in the battle against time.

Thanks to Soo Min's quick thinking and the surgical team's excellent coordination, they were able to stop the bleeding from the head and stabilize the patient's condition.

"Transfer him to the recovery ward. Let's keep him under observation for forty-eight hours, just in case of a relapse. I want frequent updates about his condition." Soo Min informed and left the operation theatre.

.....

Outside The Emergency Room.

When Mother Song and Assistant Yoon saw the surgeon stepping out of the room, they quickly rushed over.

"How's my son, Doctor?" Mother Song asked.

Removing her mask, Soo Min smiled and said, "Ma'am, nothing to worry your son is safe. The surgery was a success. He's being transferred to a recovery ward. He should gain consciousness in a few hours."

Overwhelmed by the news, Mother Song pulled Soo Min into a tight hug. Soo Min was taken aback at first, but smiled and patted Mother Song's back.

"Thank god! Thank you so much Doctor." Mother Song said in a muffled voice.

Pulling away, Soo Min smiled and said, "No need to thank me ma'am. I'm just doing my job."

The two large doors of the emergency room opened and two ward boys brought the unconscious Ryan Song in the stretcher.

"The patient's family can you come with us?" One of the ward boys asked.

Mother Song wiped her tears away and turned to Soo Min who gave her an assuring smile and gestured her to go with the ward boys.

After Mother Song and Assistant Yoon left, Soo Min put her hands in her coat pocket and sighed.

There was just one thing she found weird about this whole accident. The impact of the patient's car was nowhere near to accidental.

It seemed as if someone deliberately crashed into Ryan's car.

.....

Room no.21

The young man opened his eyes slowly, before blinking a few times to get a clear sight of things.

Looking around, Ryan realized that he was in the hospital. The last thing he remembered was the face of that woman at the scene of the accident.

Holding his throbbing head, Ryan forced his weak body to get up.

Without thinking twice, he recklessly removed all the tubes attached to his body and strained himself while attempting to walk to the door.

When Soo Min entered the room, she frowned seeing the young man out of bed.

"Excuse me Mr. just what are you doing out of bed. If you haven't realized you've just had a surgery and putting strain on your body right now, can jeopardize your future health."

Ryan looked at the young woman standing by the door. Why did she look so familiar? He had definitely seen her somewhere but he couldn't put his finger on it.

Ignoring her advice, he continued his advances towards the door, while leaning his body against the wall for support.

Soo Min frowned and stood right by the door way, obstructing his path.

"Move." Ryan Said.

"And what if I don't?" Soo Min asked crossing her arms over her c.h.e.s.t.

"I said MOVE!" Ryan shouted.

Soo Min rolled her eyes and retorted, "And I said something too. But did you listen? No right. So expect me to do the same."

Ryan scoffed. The audacity of this woman. Just who the hell does she think she is? Until this day, no one had even dared to anger him and this woman had the guts to disobey him?!

"You—" Ryan snapped but was cut off by his mother.

"Is everything alright Doctor?" Mother Song asked entering the room.

Soo Min turned to look at Mother Song and smiled. "Yes of course, I was just telling Mr. Song about the surgical procedure. Just in case of any after effects." Turning back to Ryan, she gave a meaningful look and and asked.

"Isn't that right? Mr. Song."

Ryan forced a smile and said, "Yes Mother. We were just talking about my condition."

"Anyways I should leave now. I'll see you later Mr. Song." Soo Min casually placed her hands in her coat pocket before walking out of the room.

Ryan frowned and slowly walked back to his bed. Truth be told, Mother Song was standing outside the door the entire time. She was completely surprised by Soo Min's ability to talk back to her son. In fact she was happy.

No one was able to change her stubborn son's mind. Ever! But today Soo Min did which pleased Mother Song.

Stepping away to the side, Mother Song called her Assistant and said, "Find out more about that surgeon who saved Ryan. Mm...I feel like she may be the one."
