Love To Hate Me

Chapter 27 - 27: His Part Of The Plan

.....

But alas! As they say no matter what the show must go on. In this case, it's their plan.

Ryan glanced at his assistant who was standing in the back corner of the living room, before he gave him a slight nod, which was the signal that indicated to begin their part of the plan.

Assistant Yoon nodded fully comprehending the situation at hand. Right now, it was in his best interest to help his boss as much as he could, in hopes that the wrath he would soon have to face would be a little less painful.

With the plan ready and set in motion, Ryan looked down at his wristwatch and simply counted down as he waited for his assistant.

"In 3... 2... 1..."

"Boss! Boss! Ms. Choi will not be able to make it to the company signing tomorrow. Her mother has had a heart attack and has been admitted to the hospital." Assistant Yoon hurriedly informed at a slightly raised voice so everyone could hear.

Soo Min, Mother Song, Father Park and even the wedding planner turned their attention to Ryan and his assistant.

"Since she did not keep her side of the promise, just cancel the merger. I'm not going to waste my time for her." Ryan nonchalantly replied and sent a fleeting glance at Assistant Yoon before turning his attention back to the his mobile phone.

'No one would ever want such a heartless and arrogant man to be his son-in-law.' Soo Min mused with a smirk. 'Not bad Mister Song. Not bad at all.'

But what had happened next not only left her shocked but Ryan too!

All of a sudden, a steady applause was heard.

"Good. Very good. Thats exactly what I except from every businessman. When it comes to business, one must always think rationally and never let his emotions hinder his vision. As they all say, time is money!" Father Park said with a smile, before he focused his attention back to the invitation samples that was being shown to him by the wedding planner.

Soo Min widened her eyes in disbelief!

How can her father praise and encourage such shallow thinking and on top of that even applaud? Somebody's life was on the line here! Or maybe not since it's just a lie, but still how can he say something like that when his very own daughter works in the healthcare field.

.....

In the hallway.

"I cannot believe this! Both of our plans have failed.

Are they really blind or just pretending to be. I mean anyone would be put off by the way we both acted, it's even crazier to think that they complemented our bad behavior." Soo Min smacked her forehead in frustration.

This situation was more complicated than any major surgery she had performed and the mcat (1) combined.

"But don't you think something's strange is happening here? It just feels weird to think that my mother whose biggest pet peeve is uncleanliness, would complement your messy eating habits." Ryan mentioned while he tried to analyze their current situation.

"Hey, I was just acting that time! I'm not actually a messy eater, you know." Soo Min clarified.

"That's not the point here. And I know what your dad said is true, but even businessmen have their own morals." Ryan added.

Soo Min massaged her throbbing temples, before saying, "Whatever. This whole thing is giving me a headache. Let's just go back inside. They are probably waiting for us anyway."

The two of them walked back to the living room.

.....

Living Room.

When Soo Min and Ryan entered the living room, they found their parents laughing nonstop, leaving the two of them puzzled.

"D—Did I miss something?" Soo Min asked with a raised eyebrow.

Father Park threw back his head and let out a loud laugh, before he wiped away his tears due to laughing nonstop.

After getting a control of his emotions, he turned to Mother Song and asked, "Should we tell them?"

"I guess we should." Mother Song nodded after looking at Soo Min and her son's clueless faces.

She then pulled out her cellphone from her clutch bag and typed a few things into it, before showing them a particular video.

"Do you recognize this?" Mother Song asked with a sly smile.

Soo Min and Ryan widened their eyes in disbelief, when they watched the contents of the video.
