Episode 3 – Encounter with Little Sister

At lunchtime, I spread out my lunch.
A sparse number of students remained in class as some went to the cafeteria or concession stand.

By the way, Take goes to the stores.
At our school’s store, there is a line for the limited-quantity cutlet sandwich buns and melon buns. So if you don’t get there early, they will be sold out.

I got a sip from Take once, too, …… and that stuff is very good.

I ran out of drinks, so while Take went to the concession stand, I headed to the vending machine just off the hallway on the first floor.

The store was cheaper, but there was a line of students waiting in line for the limited quantities, so I gave up waiting in line.

I Put money in and look at the drinks.

Barley tea or green tea. …… Whoa, what’s this new drink! But it’s a drink that goes well with bento. …… Okay, let’s go with green tea!

I decided on a drink and was about to press the button.

“Ei!”

I thought I heard a familiar girl’s voice from behind me, and her index finger pressed the button for a café latte instead of green tea.

A sigh escapes as the plastic bottle falls.

She hates me, and I was hoping to spend as little time as possible at the school, but …… I guess it’s not possible.

I turned around and sure enough, my little sister Sumika was looking at me with a grin on her face and the corners of her mouth turned up.

“I don’t remember buying you a drink. If you want to buy something, buy it yourself.”
“It’s only natural for a brother to buy a pretty little sister a drink.”

She takes the café latte she bought with my money and smiles with a grin. That devilish little smile that makes boys melt is just an agitating look to me.

“Oh, yeah! Do you guys want something to drink? My onii chan will buy it for you now!”

This person…… She’s always cold to me, but she’s nice to her friends. ……

I get angry and yell out.

My little sister’s friends were surprised to see her shoulders raised with a jerk, but she was the only one unresponsive to my mannerisms.

“Because you’re cold to me.”
“Even Sumi doesn’t want to do it!”

I don’t understand. If you don’t want to be cold, don’t do it.

Ignoring my little sister, I put money in the vending machine and buy a cup of tea.

“Onii chan! I’m sorry! I said too much. Here, I’ll give you back the drink…..”
“….”
“Hey, Onii chan! Don’t ignore me!”
“I’m too stupid to understand your words. See you later, my brilliant sister.”
“Hey, what’s that? You don’t have to talk to me like that, even if you’re my onii chan!”

I left the place, ignoring my little sister who was gawking behind me.

My friend talks to me as I watch the back of my brother’s head as he leaves.
