Lord of the Karmic Fate

84 Unable to Grow Stronger! (1)

The young man in the white dress and with the golden polygon mask, was, without any need to say it, Raven or also known as Luck as he just called himself.

Goran, just like everyone else, raised a brow when he heard Raven's deep voice and the way he addressed himself, but quickly snapped out of his surprise and showed a friendly smile.

"I see, so it is Sir Luck."

"Just Luck. It feels weird if they call me Sir." Raven started indifferently, quickly earning a nod from Goran.

"As you wish. Then, Luck, please follow me." Goran gestured toward a rather luxurious vehicle in the distance and was ready to walk toward there, but shockingly, his steps were halted when he saw that the young man didn't move.

"Is there perhaps a problem?" with a frown filled with puzzlement, Goran looked at Raven.

Standing still, Raven crossed his arms before his chest and nodded.

"There is." Raven spoke coldly before he said, "What is the reason I have to go with you? If I remember it correctly, I have not offended the Star Treasury much less its chairman, so I don't seem to understand why I'm being taken away."

Of course, the reason Raven acted offended and asked such questions was to avoid the slightest suspicion that his goal from the start was to be taken away.

Like this, he could pretend he was indeed just a mysterious guy with no connections whatsoever with the Black Moon Guild, or with the Wright Family and Old Dan no less.

Goran seemed to be at a loss for words for a few seconds and wished to say something, when suddenly three figures approached them from the side with hurried steps.

They were, naturally, Kayn, Thomas, and Old Dan.

"Goran, my old friend! What brings you here to our humble ho-" Old Dan began to smile and laugh with joy, only for his words to be stuck the next moment his eyes, filled with surprise, fell on Raven's figure.

This, of course, was also just an act.

"Dan? Do you perhaps know each other?" Goran, seeing Old Dan's surprising glare frowned, but just as he could have suspected something Raven's father quickly laughed.

"Know him? Haha! Just which fool would not know him, huh? He is the one who killed that bastard within the Blue Gate that no one was capable of even touching! Of course, I know him! Everyone knows him!"

Goran raised a brow and shook his head, "No, what I have meant, do you know him personally?"

"Huh? Why would I?" the head of the Black Moon Guild frowned before a confident smile appeared on his face and said, "Though, now that he is here, I bet I will have the chance! Hell, perhaps I will even have the chance to bring him into my guild! Haha! Just how great would that be?"

Saying that Old Dan wished to take a step forward to shake hands with Raven, alas Luck, and start a conversation, but just as he could have he was stopped by one of Goran's bodyguards.

This, naturally, quickly earned a puzzled and even a somewhat annoyed look from Old Dan.

"I have to apologize, but we are in a hurry." Goran said before turning to face Raven and saying, "As for your previous question, while it is true that you have not offended us, considering our current situation considering the approaching disaster, we must bring anyone on or above Rank 8 to the Star Palace."

Upon hearing this, a frown appeared on Raven's mask which soon earned him to ask his doubts.

"And how do you even know I have reached Rank 8?"

"Everyone knows it. After all, it was stated during the Special Event." Goran quickly answered.

'It was stated?' Raven's frown deepened when suddenly the memory of Felix stating his strength was equal to a Rank 10 popped up in his mind.

"Do you really believe the words of a brat without any evidence?" Raven asked, showing no signs he wished to move.

"Why, was he lying perhaps?" Goran asked with a small smile, looking at Raven curiously and somewhat mysteriously.

Raven felt weird when he saw Goran's smile, but soon enough he sighed and dropped his hands.

"No, he was not."

"Then I hope you will come with us. And not just for your own sake, but for everyone's."

Raven nodded, and before walking toward the floating vehicle parking just 50 meters away, he turned to look at Old Dan and said, "Although only for a short duration, it was a pleasure to meet with you."

Old Dan smiled bitterly, and with a nod watched as Raven with Goran and his bodyguards walked away, heading back to Nova City.

Before the Star Palace.

Outside the large palace, thousands of people stood behind fences and rows of policemen, their eyes fixed on the moving vehicles that approached the Star Palace with great speed.

Then, once they came to a halt, people one after another stepped out of them, the majority of them wearing black suits and sunglasses while the minority of them wore luxurious dresses, each varying in style and charm.

However, none of them were as simple, yet at the same time eye-catching as a single individual's... Raven's.

In the very instant as Raven put his feet outside of the vehicle, like moths attracted to light everyone glued their attention to him, their eyes wide and jaws dropped.

The mysterious warrior, the one who killed the terrifying knight within the Blue Realm Gate, which shockingly vanished by now, right now stood before everyone, earning whispers from the people in a flash.

"Show off..." looking at Raven with disdain, a bulky man wearing nothing but a seemingly luxurious crimson robe sneered coldly and walked inside the Star Palace, quickly followed by a few others.

'...Show off? Pretty bold words from someone who walks around in nothing but a bathrobe under fricking daylight!' Raven sneered coldly in his heart and was ready to follow after him inside the Star Palace when suddenly someone stepped before him.

It was a young woman, around the same age as Raven, but at the same time several times more beautiful than any female around his age!

Hell, he could almost swear that she looked more beautiful than Luna, who in his eyes already looked as gorgeous as a goddess!

The young woman in front of him had long, auburn hair that surprisingly toward the end almost approached the burning crimson color. Her small eyes below her sharp eyebrows were light amber while her cherry lips were burning red.

As for her skin, well, it was needless to say the former one was flawless without any imperfections while her body was exactly like an hourglass; wide and large both on the top and bottom while slim and small in the middle, just as it should be.

Watching as his path was blocked by this beauty, who surprisingly wore a Chinese dress with both of her long and slim legs visible to all eyes, Raven kept his composure and asked;

"And you are...?"

The young woman stared at Raven in silence for a long while before her lips curved upward into an insanely charming smile, and extended her delicate right hand forward.

"My name is Min Chen, from the Immortal Guild. It is a pleasure to meet you... Umm..."

"Luck. They call me Luck." trying to sound indifferent, Raven spoke calmly and accepted the handshake.

'Immortal Guild, huh? If I am right, they are currently the 4th best guild with their wealth and power continuously growing.' Raven thought to himself as he withdrew his hand.

As for Min Chen, she smiled sweetly, and walking beside Raven she began to speak, "Say, Luck, have you joined any guild already? If not, if you want, you can come to our Immortal Guild, not for free of course."

'Straight to the point, huh?' Raven thought inwardly before he shook his head, "As you have already guessed, I'm not part of any guild right now."

Upon hearing his words, Min Chen's eyes sparkled like small stars, but even before she could have said anything Raven interrupted her.

"And I don't wish to join any, or at least not now."

"Oh... I see." Min Chen's excitement quickly turned into sorrow and a hint of disappointment before her previous smile appeared again on her face and took out a small piece of paper from her pocket.

"Well, in case you wish to join any in the future, please consider my guild. I am pretty sure you will not regret joining us if you do."

Glancing at the small piece of paper with the emblem of the Immortal Guild and contact information on it, Raven nodded and put it away.

And just like that, the two of them walked inside the main hall of the Star Palace, where several figures seemed to be already waiting, either talking with each other with smiles or simply just standing on the side.

People from all the top guilds were here, every one of them brimming with pride and arrogance that for some reason caused Raven to feel a hint of disdain.
