Little Terrified Bun

It was really a low sound, but it sounded like a flash of lightning on this quiet and dangerous night, immediately revealing the children’s hiding spot.

Xu Jiahui touched his belly reluctantly. His last meal was in the afternoon and it was night time already. He had been starving with his chest against his back since a long time ago.

“I finally caught you, little brats.” The sturdy man let out an evil laugh and kicked the tree trunk. The tree shook a few times, but Wei Jing pressed his lips together and remained silent as he was mentally prepared for this. However, Xu Jiahui couldn’t handle this. He had never climbed a tree and now that the tree is swaying, he was so scared that he let out an alarmed exclamation.

“So…sorry.”

“I’ll count one two three, and we will jump down together, understand?” Wei Jing’s voice was low and rushed.

“Too…too high.” Xu Jiahui shook his head. Looking down, he didn’t dare to land the ground.

Wei Jing had already run out of time to persuade the child, so he counted, “One, two, three, jump.”

After going through all the previous suffering, Wei Jing’s eyes already adapted to the darkness of the night. He could vaguely see the man’s body as well as the clear glow from the phone screen. Gritting his teeth, he positioned himself right on top of the man and jumped down. With his own body weight and gravity, he immediately crushed the man down to the ground.

“Ooo~”

Wei Jing turned around and opened up his arms. “Hurry! Jump down, I’ll catch you.” He said to the Xu Jiahui who was still on top of the tree.

“This…” Xu Jiahui was still hesitating.

The three sturdy men from far away already noticed the large movement from Wei Jing’s side and were rushing over at a speedy pace. The man who was now lying on the ground was being stepped on under Wei Jing’s feet. The strong force had made him dizzy and overwhelmed, so he didn’t have any strength, but Wei Jing knew that it was only temporary.

The human body was very resilient. If they didn’t leave now, they would get flipped over by the person on the ground and get captured before the other three even got here.

“Trust me, hurry, they are coming over.” The sweat on his forehead dripped down and fell into his eyes, bringing a bitter sting. Wei Jing had his arms wide open and stared unwaveringly at the person on the top of the tree.

Xu Jiahui hesitated for a few seconds, then gritting his teeth, he jumped.

The boy was taller than Wei Jing, so although Wei Jing was mentally prepared for the child’s landing, his chest was still impacted by the strong force and he felt a sense of suffocation. He let out a few severe coughs from his throat and said, “Let’s go”…quickly.

His last word wasn’t even spoken when a huge force arrived from behind, lifting the child off the ground entirely.

“You guys, really made us search so much! A pair of disobedient little bastards.”

Due to the time wasted by previous hesitation, the man who was the nearest to them already came over. The man’s tall and big body, thick yet strong arms, obscured but hard to hide hideous face, made him appear like a sinister monster in the night that made one tremble.

“You…let go of Wei Jing.” Xu Jiahui was stunned by the opponent. Upon finishing the sentence with a stutter, he shut his eyes and ran towards the man like a little firecracker.

The child’s strength plus Wei Jing’s constant struggle was sufficient enough to force the man to let go and fall to the ground.

“Cough, cough, cough.” The Wei Jing who had been thrown heavily onto the ground now covered his mouth with his hand. His back was in pain, and it seemed like he had hit his forehead on the rock, warm liquid dripping down from the side of his forehead.

“F***, I’m going to kill you.” The man let out an exasperated scream. He got up from the ground and choked Xu Jiahui on the neck using both of his hands. Rage had dominated his rationality.
