Wei Zhe reclined halfway on his bed, his fingers tapping the soft bed anxiously. As time passed, his expression dimmed, and his pair of pitch-black eyes were bottomless like the abyss.

It had been three days.

Wei Jing hadn’t visited him for three days.

Wei Family’s servants would bring over his three meals on time every day. Whenever he asked about the matters at home, the other party would give him positive responses.

But if nothing happened, why didn’t Wei Jing come to visit him? Could it be that he was too busy studying, and he couldn’t make time out to visit him? Today, Wei Zhe finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and requested to be discharged.

Wei Zhe was already half-recovered. He just needed to recuperate the rest of the time. The reason why he stayed in the hospital was to monitor his condition and make sure nothing bad happened. Now that he insisted on being discharged, the doctors just advised him to stay a few more days on the surface before reminding Wei Zhe to change his medicine every three days.

Wei Family has their own family doctor. Wei Zhe tactfully explained his situation and the other party nodded understandingly.

Wei Family’s housekeeper handled the procedures for Wei Zhe to be discharged from the hospital. After he received the notification, he rushed over.

In the black low-profile sports car, Wei Zhe sat in the back seat. He wore a casual and loose low-collar sweater in order to prevent his injury from being bound too tightly. The scene outside the window was different from what he remembered. As he neared Wei Residence, Wei Zhe’s expression became more stiff, feeling a sense of omen.

“Did anything big happen at home while I was in the hospital?” Wei Zhe carelessly pressed.

The housekeeper froze for a moment before smiling and replying, “Young master, are you referring to young master Wei Min moving in?”

“Wei Min?” Wei Zhe was in deep thought. “Why did he move in?”

“This…” The housekeeper couldn’t say much about it. He vaguely explained, “Because young master Wei Min’s mother went to jail, and the Lord finds him pitiful, so he brought him into the residence.”

As to why she was sent to prison, it required deep thought.

As they were chatting, Wei Residence approached them. The first thing Wei Zhe did was to look for Wei Xiao Jing. Up until he opened his door and saw the empty room, did he realize that Wei Jing hadn’t moved to the third floor yet. He should still be living in the most left corner of the second floor.

In his past life, Wei Zhe moved Wei Jing’s room next to his. That way, he could look and pat him as he wished. He felt extremely relaxed. Right now, he raised his brows before returning to his room.

After living in the hospital for so long, Wei Zhe wanted to take a shower now that he was back at home. He covered his wounds with plastic wrap, and refused the servants’ assistance. Wei Zhe first washed his hair and then made do with a shower. Although it was rushed and basic, at least he got rid of the disinfectant smell.

Wei Zhe changed into casual pajamas before anxiously walking to the second floor.

Today was Saturday. With how much Wei Jing liked to avoid people, he naturally would be in his room quietly and alone.

He probably didn’t know that he was back. When the time comes, he’d open the door suddenly and surprise the child. He could even startle him while he was at it. Before leaving, he was talking about wanting to be with him forever. But after he left, he changed faces so quickly. He didn’t even come to visit him.

He should be punished!

Wei Zhe thought about the scene later on, and his expression became gentle. There was a calm and soft smile in his eyes.

“Um…hi big brother.” Coincidentally, Wei Min just walked out of his room and saw Wei Zhe who he hadn’t seen in a while. His expression froze. Disgust, jealousy, and slight guilt appeared in front of the young man’s eyes.

If Wei Zhe was just guessing earlier, then he was sure now.

Wei Min’s mother was the one that wanted to kill him.

“Mhm.” Wei Zhe nodded calmly. He walked around Wei Min and continued to walk ahead.

“Um, big brother…you…” Why are you going there? Before he could make out the second half of the sentence, he watched as Wei Zhe twisted the knob of the door across him.

Wei Jing had left for some time, and his room was already cleaned out by the servants in the family. The originally warm-color mattress was already swapped for a clean white color. It was dust-free, making one’s heart cold.

Wei Zhe’s mind went blank for a moment. He suddenly turned around and asked in a deep voice, “Where’s Wei Jing?”

“Hm?” The young man eluded a dignifying aura like a hungry wolf. Wei Min feared inside. “Didn’t he move away?”

“Where did he move to?” Wei Zhe pressed.

Wei Min shook his head. “I don’t know. Wei Jing moved away a long time ago. Ever since big brother got into a car accident, he hasn’t come back. The servants cleaned out his room the second day.”

Wei Min was incredibly happy when his mother’s crimes hadn’t been exposed. He thought that since he got rid of Wei Jing, there’d be a place in the family for him.

Wei Zhe’s face darkened. He recalled the past details, and then filled in the blanks. That little bastard knew that he had to go from the start, which was why he acted like he didn’t want to leave him. Even more, was that why he said that he wished he could be with him forever?

Damnit. When he finds him, he’d definitely spank him hard! He dared to hide such a huge event from him. He was really damn brave!

Wei Zhe’s expression was dark and unclear. He walked back Wei Min and towards the housekeeper in large strides.

The housekeeper had worked for Wei Residence for two to three decades already. Wei He extremely trusted him. Now that he saw Wei Zhe looking for him, he was in deep thought for half a moment before saying that Wei He had sent Wei Zhe away, probably to his mother’s relatives. He didn’t know about the specifics, and if the young master wanted to know, he should just call and ask the Lord.

Wei Zhe was originally angry, but now his heart grew cold. He lifted his head high and fixed his sleeves calmly. He said in disdain, “It’s fine. It’s no big deal. I shouldn’t trouble father. I’m just angry that my little pet ran off without my permission.”

He purposely acted arrogant and aloof, as if no one could compare to him.

To Wei He, Wei Jing’s existence was like a thorn. Whenever he saw him, he felt a stab in his heart. Wei Zhe could imagine that. If he acted as if he cared for Wei Jing a lot, at least before he got power, there was no way he’d see him again.

Therefore, he needed to numb his enemy and let him think that he didn’t care about Wei Jing.

He just wanted to raise a pet.

He delivered this information over.

Wei Zhe just left the hospital, and Wei He returned to the residence that night. The three had a quiet dinner together before Wei He called Wei Zhe to the study.

Wei He’s study was in the center of the third floor. It was usually locked, and only he would unlock it when he came back. In his past life, after Wei Zhe took over the Wei Family, he ended up moving his study to the open study that he usually worked in.

After all, only he and Wei Jing lived in the Wei Family. He normally would lock the door if he left the house anyway.

“Sit.” Wei He indicated for Wei Zhe to sit across him. He took out a document from his drawer and handed it to his son. “Look. If it were you, what would you do?”

Wei Zhe raised his brows. He was testing his IQ?

In front of Wei He, he didn’t need to hide. The more perfect he expressed himself, the more Wei He would value him. Not to mention…such a simple task. Wei He unintentionally curled his lips up. After he was reborn, he noticed that his IQ has indeed improved.

In his past life, he needed to look over things twice to understand, but he only needed to do so once this life.

For example, he understood the benefits and loopholes portrayed in the document by just skimming through it. He calmed down and talked about his ideas. Adding onto his advantage of being reborn and his future prospects as well as his unique ideas, Wei He’s eyes brightened at the explanation.

That’s right. This person was his successor.

The man looked at the young man with a fiery gaze, already deciding on using all of his resources to train him. Even more, he could give him some resources to allow Wei Zhe to go all out and experience in advance. He’d let him accumulate his experiences.

The two chatted in the study for a long while until it got dark. The cool autumn wind slipped in from the crack of the window, making Wei Zhe’s face pale since he wasn’t fully recovered yet. Wei He felt vexed. Wei Zhe was his treasure right now. Nothing could happen to him.

“It’s getting late. Go back and rest well. Don’t be exhausted.” Wei He’s attitude was strangely gentle.

Wei Zhe sat on his chair, his gaze idle and lazy. He eluded a careless aura. “Where did you send Wei Jing to?”

Wei He subconsciously knitted his brows, his tone full of dislike. “Why are you mentioning him? Even if others don’t know his status, don’t you know?”

“I don’t really care.” Wei Zhe acted careless, saying in disdain, “It’s just that I’ve been raising him like my own pet. But he suddenly…” He smiled gloomily, his gaze cold. “The weak little rabbit escaped and left his master behind. How can I allow that?”

He tilted his head and made eye contact with the man. “Right? Father, even if someone was going to be abandoned, I should be the one abandoning him, right?”

“He’s just a pet?” Wei He asked doubtfully.

“Of course.” Wei Zhe’s smile revealed a tint of ruthfulness and coldness. “After all, who would pamper a little brother who wasn’t related to you by blood?”

Wei He’s rough hands tapped against the cold table, revealing a thoughtful expression. “…You still want to raise this pet?”

“Mhm!” Wei Zhe thought about it before saying, “Wei Jing is a coward and likes to cry. Whenever something happens, he cowers in fear. It’s best to control a person like that. Even if I break his legs, I believe he won’t go against me. Isn’t he a very good tool to relieve stress?”

Wei He couldn’t help but reveal a cold and cruel smile after hearing Wei Zhe’s confident words.

“Really?” He said, “Okay, I’ll bring him back.”

“Father, you don’t need to do that.” Wei Zhe rubbed his wrists, his intention clear. “Let me personally ‘invite’ him back.’”

After this, Wei Zhe successfully obtained Wei Jing’s address from Wei He. He wasn’t easily deceived. He was an old crafty fox. Thankfully, he was still young, and the other party probably never thought that his body lived an experienced businessman.

Therefore, he didn’t ask too much, otherwise, it would be hard to say who won and who lost.

He obtained the address but he couldn’t go and capture him immediately.

Wei He suddenly appeared when he was changing medicines at home for the first time. He looked at the crude and sinister-looking injury by the young man’s waist, and shifted his gaze, teasing him, “Why didn’t you go capture your little pet back?”

Wei Zhe extended his hands and kept it parallel to his shoulders. The family doctor was wrapping the bandage around him. Hearing this, he casually smiled and said carelessly, “He’s just a pet that can’t escape from my clutches. Why should I go and capture him while disregarding my body?”

“That’s true.” Wei He smiled in satisfaction.

Wei Zhe knew that from this moment on, Wei He completely believed that he treated Wei Jing as a punching bag and pet.

Before this, had he expressed the least bit of anxiety, Wei He probably would’ve sent Wei Jing to a place he’d never see him.

Of course, when Wei Jing was involved, he had to be careful.

He narrowed his eyes and continued to stay at home quietly. He allowed his family tutor to teach him the knowledge that he’d already learned before up until he was fully recovered, and the stitches were removed. Then, Wei Zhe brought people over and arrived at the address Wei He gave him calmly. A middle-class neighborhood.

The moment Wei Zhe pressed the doorbell for 302, at the apartment Wei Jing rented, Wei Zhe suddenly felt a bit nervous. How would he react after seeing him? Would he break down and hug him, bawling his eyes out? Or laugh delightfully? Or both?

Wei Zhe imagined many scenes in his heart, but he didn’t expect for Wei Xiao Jing to act unusually.

The moment the door opened, he saw the slightly pale face he had been missing. His face was pale from staying at home the entire time. Before Wei Zhe could say anything, the door was closed in front of his face.

Wei Zhe was dumbfounded.

“Open the door.” He squeezed the words out. He looked at him as if he had seen a monster? What did he want to do? Rebel?

Wei Jing thought that not only was there something wrong with his eyes, he was also hallucinating. He suddenly saw his big brother standing by the door. Could it be that he missed him too much? Hearing his seemingly big brother’s voice, Wei Jing trembled, “Big brother?”

“It’s me.”

The door that was closed was opened again. Wei Jing’s fair white face glanced at the young man pitifully. He was incredibly shocked. Was he really his big brother? How did he find him?

“I’m here to pick you up.” Wei Zhe glanced at the child’s skinny body. He was thinking about having the kitchen cook up some tonics for him.

The door…closed again.

Silence filled the air.

Right now, Wei Zhe seemed to have recalled a statement on the internet. Act cute if you dare. Open the door if you dare. Open the door! I know you’re home. Open the door for me!

Wei Zhe: =.=
