Tu Yan quickly guessed who it was.

If the footage of his self-disclosed marriage was broadcasted as scheduled, the program team would definitely be able to take advantage of the situation to obtain the largest amount of topics and attention. It probably made everyone around laugh at you, so you held a grudge and stole the source materials from the camera department and posted them online, even finding a large number of ghostwriters to slander me, am I right?” 

Xu Jia’an’s pupils dilated as he forced himself to calm down. He said in a low voice, “What evidence do you have?” 

“I’ll find evidence sooner or later, such as surveillance.”

Xu Jia’an seemed relieved and his smile deepened, “Looks like you have no evidence.” 

Tu Yan suddenly rushed up and grabbed Xu Jia’an’s collar. He abruptly pressed him against the vanity mirror and scattered all the things on the dressing table all over the floor. Tu Yan said viciously, “Don’t be so proud of yourself. All the losses I’ve suffered today will be doubled to you another day.” 

“Teacher Tu, are you able to do it? You’re now the rat on the street that everyone wants to kill.”

“In order to slander me, you specifically hired a ghostwriter to spread rumours about a female fan committing suciide because of me. You’re so ruthless, how much of a grudge do you exactly hold on me?”

“You were the one who looked down on others first!” Xu Jia’an, who was an alpha, used his strength to push Tu Yan away, “Why do you look down on me? Don’t think I don’t know what you relied on to climb up.” 

Xu Jia’an straightened up his collar, looked at Tu Yan and said scornfully, “You disappeared for half a year without reason, and you received Hua Sheng’s endorsement as soon as you came back. Who couldn’t see that there’s something to it? You say I’m ruthless, but you’re more ruthless than I am. You wouldn’t hesitate to commit yourself to a cripple for the sake of gaining resources.” 

Tu Yan narrowed his eyes, “What did you say?”

Xu Jia’an burst into laughter, “I heard that the second young master of the Gu family is an ugly and lame cripple. Is he alive and well? Do you have to sit on him and move by yourself?” 

Tu Yan punched Xu Jia’an straight in the nose.

As Tu Yan was about to rush up to him, the door opened. The makeup artist and the staff of the program team immediately rushed in and separated Tu Yan and Xu Jia’an. Xu Jia’an’s nose was bleeding as he placed a wet tissue on his head. Afraid that Tu Yan would slip up, he waved his hand as though nothing happened, saying they were just joking around. 

When the manager arrived, Tu Yan was sitting in his own dressing room, letting the stylist spray hairspray on him. 

“Why did you fight with Xu Jia’an again? He’s quite popular recently, so don’t get photographed and be posted online again. Now I suspect that someone in this program team wants to harm you,” overwhelmed with worry, the manager held her phone and said nervously, “I’m afraid I’ll get a call from Hua Sheng now. If they break the contract with you, it’d be really troublesome.” 

Tu Yan paused, not knowing how to explain for a short while. 

Just then, there was a knock on the door. A staff poked their head in and asked Tu Yan, “Teacher Tu, director Gu of Hua Sheng is looking for you.”

The manager was frightened to death, “Speaking of the devil; it’s over, it’s really over.” 

Tu Yan couldn’t help but press on the manager’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, I said it won’t happen.”

The manager pulled him back, “Xiao Yan, don’t be impulsive! You have to speak properly to your financial backer.” 

Tu Yan opened the door and walked out. He saw Gu Chenbai sitting in the middle of the long sofa in the reception room. The assistant director, the director, and the producer were sitting around him as they talked to him with flattering expressions on their faces.

Gu Chenbai kept away the smile on his face and turned to the director, “You know what to do.”

“You’re already finished,” Chen Kai sneered, his hand habituality reaching for a cigarette and holding back when he reached his pants. Sighing, he told Xu Jia’an, “Director Gu of Hua Sheng is here.”

“Who?”

“Gu Chenbai of Hua Sheng group.”

Before Xu Jia’an reacted, Chen Kai casted a sideways glance at him, “Second young master Gu.”

Xu Jia’an’s pupils suddenly turned wide and his entire body froze. He said in disbelief, “Isn’t he- isn’t…what’s he doing here?”

“What’s he doing? Of course it’s to deal with you. You offended Tu Yan to such a state, can’t they come settle the score with you? Like this; why don’t you go with me first, apologise to Tu Yan, then take the initiative to take the blame and find a way to put down the matter from last night.”

“Fuck! I’m not going.”

Xu Jia’an was Chen Kai’s younger cousin, although good-looking but had no talent, it didn’t take much effort for him to debut. In addition, he wasn’t even 20 years old, and was at the age where he was filled with youthful vigour without knowing the immensity of heaven and earth. As he heard Chen Kai’s words, his face immediately changed. He threw Chen Kai’s hand off and wanted to walk away. 

Chen Kai grabbed him firmly, fuming with anger, “Are you really fucking stupid or faking to be stupid? What’s there to shoot! The program team is about to terminate your contract, do you know? Director Gu personally came himself. Meaning what? Meaning you don’t have to think about mingling around in the entertainment industry from now on!”

Only then did Xu Jia’an realize the weight of the problem. His face turned pale with fear as he stammered, “He wouldn’t stick out for Tu Yan in front of so many people, would he? Tu Yan’s already married, if others know about his secret relationship with Tu Yan, isn’t Tu Yan——”

Xu Jia’an’s whole body seemed to have convulsed, unable to hear whatever Chen Kai was saying anymore. When Chen Kai dragged him to where Gu Chenbai was in the reception room and was about to knock on the door, a person who looked like a secretary came out, their face expressionless as they said, “Apologies, director Gu is taking a rest and doesn’t want to be disturbed.” 

From the half-opened door, Xu Jia’an saw Tu Yan playing with his phone on the couch. Sat beside him was a man with a slender figure, handsome facial features and an outstanding temperament. An exquisite black and gold cane was placed beside his legs. That person was leaning sideways to talk to Tu Yan. Tu Yan didn’t seem to reply, but that person wasn’t annoyed. Smiling, he pulled Tu Yan’s hand to his lips and placed a kiss. 

Just as the secretary finished speaking and was about to shut the door, Xu Jia’an saw that man raise his head and the deep affection in his eyes turned cold. Watching Xu Jia’an from a distance with this look, Xu Jia’an was like falling into a cold deep pool. 

He suddenly understood what Chen Kai meant by ‘the Gu family has already intervened, you have no way to live anymore’.
