Chapter 32 - Uncle Not Brother

Other than avoiding the trees on her way, Huanghu also tried to jump on the branches from time to time.

"This is so fun!", she exclaimed.

But her excitement faded when he heard the two men behind her who already caught up.

"Ahhh... ff... Stop joking with me. Are people in ancient times into lolis? Can't you tell my c.h.e.s.t is almost flat? I don't have big booties too, so why do you want this piece of stick?", she cried.

The taller man asked the other man, "This girl's speed is no ordinary, are you sure there are no nobles taking an excursion up here?"

"We've been staying here for two full days in preparation for the ambush. Other than the subordinates of Wen Jun, we haven't spotted any other group. Besides..." the other man looked at Huanghu's direction and gave her a belittling look.

"What?", the tall man was confused about his comrade's facial expression and asked.

"She can't belong to a noble family. Just look at the oversized robe she is wearing.", he pointed. "If anything, she looks more like an orphan or someone from the jianghu."

"You're right. Let us catch her fast. The others probably already finished that Wen Jun, this one is an excellent bonus for this mission."

The two increased their pace and in no time closed the distance to about five meters behind her. The shorter man was about to reach out when they noticed that they arrived at an open space.

As soon as Huanghu got out, a thick smell of blood assailed her nose, and what immediately caught her eye was a man kneeling on the other side of the stream. Behind the man were people, uhm dead people with the same black clothing as her pursuants.

She immediately concluded that this man must be an enemy of the black-clothed men who were trying to catch her, so she immediately ran to his direction. As they say, the enemy of my enemy is an ally - even just temporary.

Without saying anything, Huanghu ran and stopped behind the man and said, "Boss, these men want to say hi to you."

He Junyan's left eye twitched.

Suddenly, a huge gust of wind assaulted the two men in black that made them stop. It was weird but it didn't hurt them. However, as soon as they saw the scene in front of them, they were horrified and became alert. They didn't dare come closer.

Their three comrades, who were at the same cultivation level as them, were all annihilated. The only question that reverberated the two men's minds was - what the hell happened?!

"Damn, this guy is worn out. Seems he already exhausted most of his energy from killing the three dead people here. Should I just run away now since these other two are after him? They probably won't care for me anymore and just concentrate on eliminating this uncle here.", Huanghu contemplated.

But before Huanghu could decide, the man uttered, "Stay behind me, I'll protect you."

Huanghu suddenly felt bad thinking about running away. She lured these two men and even pretended to be a subordinate of this dying man. If she really did leave, she will just be the same as that Demon Lord, the one who caused all the sufferings she experienced the past few days.

"Uhm boss..."

"I'm called Wen Jun.", he intercepted.

Huanghu imagined herself doing a facepalm. 'Uhh, does your name really matter right now?'

"Uncle Wen, do you want me to stall the short guy while you take care of the tall guy?", Huanghu asked.

'U-uncle Wen?! This girl... Do I look that old to you? You can at least call me Brother Jun, you know!?' Wen Jun complained internally.

When Huanghu saw Wen Jun scrunching his eyebrows, she continued to say, "Despite how I look, I can fight even for just a bit. I have some hidden weapons too so you can trust me. I only chose to run away from them earlier because I'm too weak to face both at the same time but since Uncle Wen is here, I can keep the other busy or maybe even defeat him with my tricks."

'Where in the world did you learn how to fight? You couldn't even do five push-ups or run for ten minutes straight. Now that I think about it, you were using qinggong earlier. How is that possible?'

Wen Jun shook his head. He knows that this isn't the time to find out, and even if, he wouldn't know how to ask her these questions without being labeled as a stalker or pervert. He gave up and said, "Okay but try to stay close so I can still protect you when it gets too dangerous."

'This Uncle is too nice and trusting.' Instead of feeling lucky and thankful that she met a kind human, Huanghu felt pity towards Wen Jun.
