Chapter 25 - Feishan

As Huanghu approached the black lake, she immediately noticed a weird ripple.

"Hnn? What's that?", she wanted to move closer to check but before she could even take another step, she felt the huge dragon move behind her.

Sweat trickled down her face.

Even though she knew that the dragon must need something from her, she was still worried deep inside. What could possibly this mighty dragon need from a lowly human like her? A lot of possibilities already crossed her mind while exchanging words with Yi Hou. She had a hunch but she was not a hundred percent sure.

She has looked around, and even with her improved eyesight, this entire cave is empty. If this dragon is hiding something, it's either inside his mouth or in the black lake.

So, instead of turning back to face the now awake dragon, Huanghu, tried her luck and raised her foot to take a step forward towards the lake. But before her foot could even land the ground, a whoosh came from behind her.

That strong gush of wind blew her waist-long black hair. At the sight of her unkempt hair, her right eye twitched.

---

Back at her previous world or time period, she was always proud of how smooth and shiny they were. Well, as a normal girl, she also tried to keep up with the trend like hair coloring and using hot tools and strong chemicals to curl her naturally straight hair.

Her hair isn't black as ink so it could still hold some color. She used boxed hair colors like bright red or light brown, and they would successfully tint her hair and would be visible for the first few days. But to her dismay, they always just turn back to her original color within a few days to a couple of weeks.

There was also a time, wait no, three times she went to have permanent curls, and they also straightened up after a week. Even the hairdresser, who is her mom's friend was baffled about it.

Finally, she decided to go to an expensive salon to get her hair bleached. The hairdresser said she would need at least three sessions to fully get her hair color the way she wanted it to be. Well, the first session worked well, but it is a little brassy because it's the first session. That's when she realized, light hair color didn't really suit her. Uhuh, that's usually the case for brown-skinned Asians. So, she decided not to continue. Also, her wallet was crying, a session cost her about four hundred and fifty dollars!

To kind of fix her somehow light-colored hair, she used boxed products with colors like burgundy or c.h.e.s.tnut brown. When her natural hair color grew back to a good length, she had the colored area cut down.

---

Weeeng! A transparent barrier enveloped the black lake.

Huanghu immediately raised her two hands above her head indicating she's not going to take another step. Her eyes glimmered. She was right! There is something in the lake!

"You are quite smart, human.", the dragon said.

Huanghu didn't respond but instead turned around and stared at the dragon's ferocious eyes.

The mighty dragon was taken aback. Although there is a little tinge of worry, this young woman's eyes are full of curiosity and confidence. Her big black eyes looked straight at him without fear.

When he inspected her while she was passed out, he saw traces of injury all over her body. Even though they were completely healed, the trauma couldn't escape this mighty dragon's eyes.

A few of her ribs were also recently broken by a powerful force. Yet, here she was, strutting around the cave and didn't even look hurt anywhere at all.

The mighty dragon pointed one of his claws at Huanghu and continued, "First, tell me, what's the deal with that demon fire inside you?"

Huanghu was not surprised how this dragon was able to tell she was harboring a demon fire inside her. It was because these two were somehow at the same level hundreds of years go. She answered, "Oh! It's just one conceited, selfish and stupid brat. You do not have to worry about it, I have it completely under control."

The mighty dragon was again surprised by this little woman's straightforwardness. 'Conceited, selfish and stupid,' he laughed so loudly that the cave shook a little and a few stalactites even fell.

"These demon fires are indeed like that!" Feishan continued to laugh. "Well said... well said!"

After a good few seconds of laughing, Feishan cleared his throat. "Alright, that was a good one. Now, let's get straight to the point. I do not like too much dilly-dallying."

Huanghu's eyes brightened and she smiled, "I think we'll get along mister dragon. My name is Huanghu." She lowered her hands and sat cross-legged on the ground.

"I'm called Feishan."
