Song Yingshi had a fixed dog walking route for every day, that is, they walk one loop in the leisure square built inside the new complexes, then detour home via another road. But today, when they reached the fork in the road she saw that her family’s husky refused to turn the corner, completely dead set on going straight forward.

She pulled at the dog leash. “Happy, it’s this way.”

Ji Shaoyan turned a deaf ear to her words, only wanting to go straight.

Song Yingshi was forced to put more strength in her arms, trying to pull it back on the right path, only to see the husky lying on the ground shaped like a “大”. Its whole body was being dragged towards her like mop, as if she was pulling a dead dog.

She hurriedly took back her strength and walked over to touch its head. “Happy, what’s wrong?”

Ji Shaoyan glanced at her then got up and continued walking.

Song Yingshi guessed, “You want to go that way?”

Ji Shaoyan took two steps, looked back at her, then walked forward again.

Song Yingshi didn’t stop it this time and instead followed after curiously, wondering where it was going.

After this one person-one dog pair walked along for about five minutes, Song Yingshi saw that it finally left the main road of the neighbourhood and turned into one of the residential apartments, so she had to pull it back again.

Although she didn’t know where Zhou Li lived, Happy was both smart and spiritual. Sometimes she even thought it could even understand her every word. Thus, she figured that it probably remembered the route it walked in the past so she asked, “Do you want to look for your former owner?”

She shook her head. “No, we can’t. Going to him so early in the morning, who knows if he’s even awake right now. Besides, we never asked him in advance.”

Ji Shaoyan squatted on the ground and looked up at her. No movements.

Song Yingshi stepped forward and said, “Wait until I send him a WeChat later today, then we can come again. I’ll take you back home ba.”

She stooped down to pick up the husky. Seeing how it wasn’t struggling, she joyfully ruffled its head and was about to praise “so well-behaved” when it suddenly leaped out of her arms and ran away.

Song Yingshi: “……”

She was caught off guard and didn’t get to catch the dog leash. She hurriedly chased after it.

The opportunity that Ji Shaoyan had been waiting for was the moment when she slackened her hold on the leash. Running with his quickest speed, he quickly entered the corridor.

Silly Fool made up his mind to give him away so if he really asked Song Yingshi to contact Zhou Li, at most, the boy would only spare him a few moments of attention if he came over. This was proof that the teen won’t take him away. He had to go directly to his door and refuse to leave. This way, Zhou Li will have to keep him, at least for a while.

Qian Duoshu will go to work today and Song Yingshi did not eat breakfast, so she will have to go home to eat with Grandma Song.

Silly Fool has always doted on him and Song Yingshi has always been soft-hearted. It can be reasonable to guess that Song Yingshi will just pick him up after her breakfast, and that meant only he and Zhou Li will be left alone in the house. This gap should be enough for him to reveal his identity.

Young Master Ji made up his mind and sprinted up to the third floor, then stretched out his paw to pat at the door.

“Wait a moment, I’m coming.”

Zhou Li walked over to open the door, still holding a little golden retriever in his arms that had quarrelled with him all night in a fight to make sure he got absolutely no sleep at all.

Opening the front door, he had to go through another anti-theft netting, only to find that there was no one outside.

At this time, he heard another “bang bang“, so he opened the security door and looked down, meeting Uncle Dog’s cold eyes.

“……” His hands trembled. He nearly dropped the little golden retriever onto the floor.

Qian Duoshu came out after changing his clothes and asked, “Who is it ah?”

Ji Shaoyan was startled suddenly.

In the past, wouldn’t Qian Duoshu have already left long ago by now?

Before he could think more about why the dad was here, he heard the tapping of rushed footsteps gradually approaching, so he took the initiative to walk through the doorway.

The next second, Song Yingshi ran up the stairs panting and saw Zhou Li standing at the door. She asked, “Did it come to find you?”

Zhou Li finally returned to his senses and answered, “Yes.”

Song Yingshi took in deep breaths. “Sorry ah, I didn’t hold onto it properly.”

As she said this, she took the last step to their front door. Seeing a middle-aged man walking out from the house, she politely greeted, “Hello, Uncle.”

Qian Duoshu naturally saw a certain ball of husky sneak in and smiled kindly. “Hello. You must be Eggy’s owner?”

Zhou Li: “……”

Song Yingshi blinked. “Eggy?”

She unconsciously turned to face Zhou Li but quickly reacted, “Ah, yes, I’m sorry to trouble you*.”

[T/N: honourable form of you]

This was the first time Qian Duoshu had come across a decent classmate of his son. The smile on his face bloomed like a flower, growing kinder and kinder. “Ai, it’s no trouble, no trouble. It ran into the house, come, come, come, come in for a sit.”

Song Yingshi accepted this kind invitation and walked into the house. Despite looking for a long time, she found no shadow of her husky, so she called out, “Eggy. “

Zhou Li, following her into the house: “……”

I apologise deeply, Brother. I still ended up letting your wife know your name is Eggy.

Qian Duoshu said, “I saw it run into Liye’s bedroom.”

He glanced at his son, raising his chin to point at the bedroom and gesturing for him to take Eggy out to return to its owner.

Song Yingshi noticed the man’s unsubtle movements and hesitated for a moment, then looked at Zhou Li. “I think it misses you a lot. How about we let it stay with you for now? I’ll come home to pick it up after I go back to eat. Or maybe, we should let it stay for a few days. It should be happy with that.”

Zhou Li helplessly said, “I’m just about to head out for a check-up at the hospital. If I left him and the golden retriever alone at home, I won’t be able to relax the entire time.”

Reason one: the little golden retriever, this bear child*, never learns its lessons and will definitely be abused by the husky.

[T/N: mischievous child]

Reason two: even if he poured two bowls of water, if Young Master Ji doesn’t keep constant watch over the dishes and lets the golden retriever come into contact with both bowls, he was afraid this young master will be dehydrated for most of the day.

Ji Shaoyan, who could clearly hear everything in the bedroom: “……”

No wonder Qian Duoshu was at home. Turns out it was for this.

He knew that this unhinged father and son duo were going to see a doctor, but he didn’t expect to have such bad luck for the appointment to be today.

Song Yingshi was a little surprised. “What’s wrong? Why the hospital?”

Zhou Li knew that Qian Duoshu wanted face, and said, “Nothing big, I’m just a little dizzy.”

As expected, Qian Duoshu didn’t want to go too in-depth into this topic and looked at his son. “It’s okay to let them play together.”

Zhou Li said, “They’re too small and squeamish.”

Qian Duoshu thought about the howling little golden retriever last night and went silent.

But that can’t be helped. For such a small puppy, it would take a day or two for it to settle when being suddenly introduced to a new home. There were only a few who were as good as Eggy.

Song Yingshi heard the uncertainty in their tones and proposed, “Then, how about this? I’ll help you look after the little golden retriever. When you’re back from the check-up, you can just come over and take it home with Eggy.”

Zhou Li said, “…No need ba.”

Qian Duoshu wished for his son to have more contact with decent kids his age and said, “If it is convenient, please. We don’t want it to be locked in our house and end up howling without a stop, otherwise the neighbours will be coming with complaints.”

Zhou Li hesitated, but the persistence of these two people could not be beat. He could only ask Song Yingshi to give even more attention than before, especially because Eggy had a keen sense of smell and was very picky. It was best not to let him share the same bowl with the little golden retriever.

Song Yingshi naturally agreed and the small humans-and-dogs group went downstairs together.

It was there on the concrete floor that Ji Shaoyan squatted, silently watching Silly Fool get into the car and leave.

After tossing around all morning, not only did his plan fail, but he even gained a little golden retriever. He saw the thing that was currently tentatively trying to approach him and felt that his mentality was a little broken.

Fortunately, his ambitious personality remained firm and he soon calmed down.

Seeing how Silly Fool didn’t seem to object to picking him up on his way back, he can wait.

Little Golden Retriever sniffed and sniffed before finally taking a step towards its companion.

Ji Shaoyan didn’t hesitate to slap a paw on its face.

Song Yingshi remembered that pitiful scene from last time and anxiously hugged the husky in her arms, then took the little golden retriever with them on a leash so they can all go home and eat breakfast.

When she finished eating, she found that the little golden retriever had fallen asleep curled around her feet while a certain lump of husky was lying motionless in the corner of the sofa, looking a bit like a doll.

She suddenly felt this scene was too distressing and stepped forward, saying, “Hap…Eggy, I’ll play games with you ba.”

Ji Shaoyan ignored this person.

Song Yingshi thought about how focused it was yesterday and said, “Then you can watch me play games, okay ba?”

Ji Shaoyan continued to ignore this person.

Everything he needed to know has already been revealed. He was no longer interested in observing this weird game.

Song Yingshi forcibly picked it up and made the husky sit on her lap, then opened the small broken mobile game.

Except for the first day when the server launched at 8 pm, players can be online from 8 am to 10 pm. When she went online, more than a dozen people were already answering questions. At present, Young Master Jing had the highest score, standing at eight points. If he answered two questions more correctly, he will be able to enter the second floor.

There were five layers in the maze. According to this efficiency, you can jump through all levels within a week. Who knew what they were planning to do with the 10 chosen people.

She was curious at heart and held the phone in front of the husky’s face for it to look at the screen, saying, “Come, let’s play games…”

Ji Shaoyan heard only heard half of her sentence when he suddenly let out a breath of cold air. He had reluctantly glanced at the chatroom and froze at the sight of the new information he had obtained.

Zheng San: Have you guys seen that hot search* for the missing dog?

[T/N: trending on social media]

Liu Xiao Wei: No, what is it?

Zheng San: It’s talking about this missing husky. The photo on it is just full of those luxury cars and I even found a few cars that looked very familiar. One of them seems to belong to your Dage*.

[T/N: elder brother]

Liu Xiao Wei: Ah? Then I’ll take go a look!

Song Yingshi also hurriedly quit the game screen to log into Weibo and found that the dog-seeking Weibo account, which no one had been following only a few days ago, was currently in a mess.

The reason was that the cars in the photo were far too lavish so people can’t help but turn around with a sharp eye. Lamenting over the wealth of the rich, one turned to ten, and ten turned to a hundred…until a big verified account came across the photo and reposted it with the caption “come out and recognise the car”. The post spread like wildfire across social media.

Although everyone’s attention was on the car, the power of the melon-eating netizens cannot be underestimated. There will still be some people whose attention will be on the dog, and with such a huge viewer count, this value was bound to be very impressive.

Ji Shaoyan glanced over the screen twice, thinking to himself that his stupid little brother was really promising.

He had disappeared suddenly, of course the idiot brother would want to find him as soon as possible.

But one, his grandpa had his eyes on his brother, and two, their family won’t let him waste resources just to find a dog, so his stupid brother specially intercepted the photo of all the cars and threw it on the Internet, waiting for it to trend.

Just who was the one behind him and these ideas?

Young Master Ji bared his canines, mind swirling with thoughts of pulling that guy out and sending him to death when he returned.

Song Yingshi finished scanning though Weibo quickly and changed back to the game, and was met with the scene of several young masters analysing the specific location.

With the date available, all they had to do was ask the owner of the car, so they easily got the answer very soon: it’s from a private hospital in the city.

Jing Shao: I know, Xiao-Yang took his girlfriend’s dog for a vaccine that day. Mid-way, he heard that A-Yan got into an accident, so he went to the hospital first, but accidentally lost the dog. His girlfriend got into an incredibly long fight with him and he couldn’t coax her at all. Apparently, he had to find the dog before she is willing to forgive him.

Liu Xiao Wei: With Xiao-Yang’s temper, he was able to bear it?

Jing Shao: He was able ah, maybe this time his heart was moved ba.

Song Yingshi was very surprised.

Xiao-Yang’s full name is Ji Tianyang, and he was Young Master Ji’s little half-brother. Maybe it was because Young Master Ji was too good in all aspects, but Ji Tianyang was extraordinarily ordinary. The only thing that he can beat his brother in was how much he talked about his girlfriend——seeing Young Master Jing’s message, did this little brother finally meet his true love?

But can this young master with no outstanding characteristics be related to animal experiments?

She felt that she and Zhou Li had perhaps travelled a tad too deep into the rabbit hole with this misunderstanding so she sent a screenshot of the chat log to Zhou Li.

Zhou Li was already aware of the hot search at this time.

Because some of his little brothers enjoyed surfing the Internet, they had notified them the moment they saw the trending missing-dog post.

When Song Yingshi sent him the message, he happened to think that these second generations can give him even more information. Seeing the contents on these screenshots were not surprising at all. He replied, “wait for me to come back, we’ll talk then” and switched to Weibo himself, staring at the photos of the luxurious cars.

If it were unintentional, then this entire theory was a hit and miss.

But if it were intentional… For the villain’s camp to suddenly become so witty, which little wing offset the wind in that direction*?

[T/N: as in, the butterfly effect]

At the same time, across the city, the villain’s camp was also being asked about the hot searches.

Ji Tianyang sat down on the sofa and looked at his cousin, who also acted as his confidant, with an indifferent expression. “What’s there to be afraid of?”

This little cousin was the son of Ji Tianyang’s uncle, from his mother’s side. He was the main support in stealing the experimental technology.

Right now, this cousin was particularly uneasy. The missing dog topic had suddenly spread like wildfire. If Grandpa Ji’s suspicion caused him to suspect they had moved against Young Master Ji, he’ll skin them alive ah!

Ji Tianyang spread his hands. “My whole family knows that I misplaced my girlfriend’s dog. My little girlfriend spontaneously posted on Weibo to find her dog and stirred up all the melon-eating netizens. How would this relate to me?”

The little cousin paused. “…You’re right ha.”

“So just leave your heart in your stomach*, we’ll be fine.” Ji Tianyang educated him, “If you have time, play more of that game, try to grab one of the top spots.”

[T/N: be at ease]

The little cousin said, “Okay.”

After soothing his confidant, Ji Tianyang received a call from the second master.

Not only did they look for the dog in Liuxi District, they even sent henchmen to stick up missing-dog posters in the surrounding suburbs. However, the focus was mainly on Liuxi District, because there was no trace of the husky’s body in any of the surveillance at the hospital, so that means it must have escaped by some other car, and one of the vehicles that left the site on that day was a small vegetable truck bound for Liuxi District.

In Liuxi District and the surrounding area, there were no more than ten huskies that were of similar size and colour to the one they were searching for. Er Ye had sent someone to investigate all of them and was now telling him his results.

Ji Tianyang said, “You didn’t miss any?”

Er Ye said, “We can’t be certain because after all, we’re looking in two large districts. It’s not like we can go from house to house.”

Ji Tianyang thought about this for a few seconds. “Then, how about this. I’ll have to bother you* again to re-check those few dogs from before.”

[T/N: honourable form of you]

Er Ye said, “What?”

“I’m thinking that the person who picked it up will not be willing to hand it back to me so they’ll come up with the idea of smearing something on its paw to cover the little black spot.” Ji Tianyang politely recommended, “This time around, can you please ask your men to clean the dogs’ paws with wet wipes? You let them use wet wipes this time. I sincerely thank you for your help. I will charter an office space for you tonight, and you must receive this token of gratitude.”

Er Ye laughed heartily, flattered by his talent in speaking. After hanging up, he ordered his subordinates to go to work.

Once Lin Ye eavesdropped in on this conversation, he seriously felt that this rich second generation had a mental illness. He had thought that this guy was just looking out for his little girlfriend, but to throw away 20,000 yuan on such a useless thing, this guy must be a completely brainless mutt!

Er Ye gave him a quick look. “It won’t take much trouble anyway. If he wants to do things like this, let’s just do it. Remember to take a video of each dog, I’ll send it over for him to identify personally.”

As soon as he heard this, Lin Ye understood that Er Ye was selling his humanity*.

[T/N: deliberately giving someone the benefits so the other will be grateful]

Although he wasn’t all that keen, he had to admit that they were nothing when compared to those giant families. They could only live in the suburbs, with the money they have to painstakingly earn over one year not even coming close to what leaks out from those families’ companies. Er Ye now wanted to take this opportunity to board the Ji family’s boat. Riding on their coat tails, there will only be good and no harm, so he simply responded and ordered his men to go out.

After making the calls, a certain child came to mind and he subconsciously wanted to take the chance to call the boy out, but when he thought about having to wipe the dogs’ paws, he felt that he couldn’t do such a stupid act in front of the kid so he still decided to throw this task at his men. Besides, with that little golden retriever, he can knock on the boy’s house at any time.

The child at question was currently still in the hospital, waiting for his number to be called out.

After sitting with Qian Duoshu for more than half an hour, he finally heard their numbers and was able to enter the private room.

The medical professional who was here for consultations was a psychiatrist. Seeing Qian Duoshu’s face that was brimming with embarrassment and hesitation, he clearly stated, “You can rest assured. We will never disclose the patient’s privacy. If we really do go back on our word, feel free to sue us.”

Qian Duoshu settled down to a more steadfast state at his reassurance and motioned for his son to come over and sit down, then informed his son’s situation to the psychiatrist.

The psychiatrist patiently listened until the end and gently answered, “What he has is not schizophrenia. Schizophrenia usually has symptoms such as logical confusion, emotional instability, loss of will, along other alike symptoms. Your son has Dissociative Identity Disorder, or, multiple personality disorder. Each personality will have their own behaviours, habits, ways of thinking, and perception of oneself. Even their names will be different.”

Qian Duoshu knew about people having multiple personalities but was confused about the concept.

At this moment, hearing the last part of the sentence, he couldn’t help but look at his son to tentatively ask, “Your name…is it not the same?”

Zhou Li turned his head to looked at the man and officially introduced himself for the first time. “My name is Zhou Li.”

He said, “The Zhou in ‘serious’ and the Li in ‘dawn’.”

[T/N: 周吴郑王/zhou wu zheng wang, describes a serious look. 黎明/li ming means dawn/daybreak]

Qian Duoshu mouth gaped for a long while but in the end, only a single “oh” came out. He looked at the medical expert for help.

Although the psychiatrist has seen many patients, this was only the third time he encountered a patient with Dissociative Identity Disorder.

He didn’t have that much experience, nor was he an expert in this area. He could only give some treatment advice and then evaluate Zhou Li’s condition. The conclusion he came to was that this personality was very positive and very optimistic.

Qian Duoshu took the business card the psychiatrist handed to him that recommended him a doctor who specialised in this field and knew that his son’s part of the treatment was over, so he remained sitting in the chair and began talking about his own problem.

Compared Zhou Li, his symptoms were more common.

The medical expert prescribed some medicine and advised him about the precautions as well as his follow-up visitation date before telling them they were free to leave.

It was already past noon when the two returned home.

Qian Duoshu had originally asked for a day off from work but there was a sudden and urgent meeting at his workplace so he could only split off from his son. Not having enough time to eat with him, he planned to just buy takeaway from some place near his work.

Zhou Li had a look at the time on his phone and found that it was already one in the afternoon.

Before, just when he was about to walk up to her house, he had exchanged a few words with Song Yingshi through text, saying that he might be back at noon but he learned that Grandma Song would take a nap from one to two o’clock every day. If it was during this time period, he would have to postpone the dog collection.

Since Grandma Song was an at-risk elderly, he naturally didn’t want to bother their household and instead contacted his little brothers who had been constantly blowing up his phone with notifications.

Ten minutes later, all the little brothers came to his door carrying big and full plastic bags. When they learned from Ying-ge that Eggy was going to stay with him temporarily, they immediately relaxed and turned to another topic.

Three of them distributed flyers for two days, one hundred papers a day. Together, they made a total of 600 yuan. This was a huge sum of money, very worthy of celebration.

Er-ge slammed the money on the coffee table with a resounding “pa” and proudly exclaimed, “How about it, we brothers can make money!”

Zhou Li applauded. “Very good.”

Er-ge waved his hand in a bold manner. “Take it, no need to be polite!”

Zhou Li He smiled and raised his eyebrows. “You’re giving it to me?”

Er-ge mellowed and nodded, saying, “Everyone here are brothers. Xiao Wu’s 10,000 debt can’t be paid off by just you alone. Although this little stack money is not much, we brothers put our hearts and soul into helping you. Besides, after you pay it back, will you still have enough to pay for your tuition from Auntie’s savings?”

Zhou Li walked over and picked up the stack of 600 yuan, then said, “This isn’t enough to pay for tuition. You guys still have to distribute a few more rounds of flyers. “

The little brothers said, “No problem, we still have our robbing spirits intact this week!”

Zhou Li was content. “En. Once I cash in the tuition fees that all of us collected, I’ll be able to continue fighting and skipping classes with you guys at school. How great.”

The little brothers: “……”

Why did their hearts suddenly ache?

Everyone watched Ying-ge fan the money at his face with an audible “swish swish“. Strangely enough, the roaring words of their parents echoed in their heads: Laozi worked so hard to put you in education, you know this and yet you just fool around in school. Do you think this money came to us by a great wind?!

——This money really wasn’t brought over by a great wind ah!

In unison, the boys looked at the 600 yuan in silence, with all of them enveloped in a rather depressing atmosphere. Especially the expressions of the three people who had distributed flyers for two days under the high, scorching heat. Their faces could not be hidden, not even if they tried.

Zhou Li found their reactions delightful and pocketed the money for the time being, preparing to spill his heart-felt thanks once they finish this week’s round of work.

He said, “Waiting for me this morning, you guys probably haven’t eaten yet ba? Hurry up and cook something, I’m hungry.”

The little brothers painfully chirped out “oh” and went into the kitchen.

The group of teenagers left after playing around until the evening. Zhou Li followed them outside, and then separated at the fork in the road. While contacting Song Yingshi, he walked forward, ready to pick up the two dogs.

Song Yingshi happened to also want to chat with him about the newest updates on the dog search and felt aimless just sitting around at home, so she walked out with two dogs and their leashes when she received his messages.

After only taking a few steps outside, she saw two young men approaching.

One of them politely asked, “Excuse me, my friend has lost a dog that looks similar to this one of yours. Is it okay for me to take a look at its paws?”

Song Yingshi suspected that this was the aftereffects of the trending searched, so she picked up the husky and showed them the paws.

In the next second, she saw the other person reaching out with a wet wipe while taking a photo or video with his phone, while the first person held its paw in one hand and swiped it with the wet wipe in the other. On the tissue, there was a layer of smeared powder.

Three people and one dog: “……”

The two people had cooperated so speedily that Song Yingshi was even left a little confused.

After a short moment of silence, she anxiously backed up. At this time, the young men also regained their senses and grabbed her, pulling her arm towards them.

They had believed this ‘wiping paws’ thing was a brain-dead idea, but they didn’t expect it to be so rewarding!

The youth who had his hands tightly around her had a vicious appearance. “Give it to me!”

Song Yingshi’s face paled and she fearfully explained, “No, it’s really not that dog, I only put stuff on it because I was scared people would misunderstand… Ah!“

Before she could finish her sentence, the two men who have been aimlessly wandering around to the point where they had pent up their rage finally exploded, and they pushed her. There were no tender feelings for the fairer sex at all. Without any delay, a hand came and held her wrist in a tight clench, and he said, “What a misunderstanding. How about we take you back with us.”

Ji Shaoyan wanted to run, but they managed to catch him in an unyielding hold and was quickly blocked and stuffed into the car. It was at this time that he happened to see Silly Fool passing by.

Zhou Li had witnessed the second half of these two men’s operation from a distance and suddenly turned his head to look at the car quickly driving away. His mind was wiped into a blank slate for two whole seconds before quickly he returned to his senses. While calling one of the little brothers on the phone, he sprinted over to help Song Yingshi who had been pushed over to the ground.

The other side connected after only one ring and he shouted, “Have you guys reached the community exit? If you haven’t, run as fast as you can, there’s a car about to come around in just a moment, point to me what road they went on!”

Er-ge froze. “…Ah?”

“Stop asking questions,” Zhou Li snapped as he recorded the license plate number before hanging up, turning his eyes to Song Yingshi. “You have a car ba, hand me the keys!”

Song Yingshi had a car. This, he knew.

Perhaps realising the inconvenience this heroine would be met with if she took her pet on the bus, for these teenagers to be allowed out to play around at will, the author adjusted the setting of this world so people at age of 16 can be authorised to get a driver’s license.

Song Yingshi had just gotten up from the ground and her mind was still in a tumbleweed mess, but she subconsciously replied, “Yes, it’s at home.”

Zhou Li said, “Run up and throw it to me, hurry!”

Song Yingshi’s wandering attention was stunned back to present by his hasty command and she quickly ran upstairs while hugging the little golden retriever in her arms.

Fortunately, her family lived on the second floor so she didn’t waste much time. She found the key and threw it through the opened window, pointing to her car in one swift motion.

Zhou Li marched forward towards the car and proceeded to start the engine before driving neatly onto the main road.

Song Yingshi stood by the window and watched him drive away. Her frightened and rapidly jumping heart only recovered a little by now and after her mind settled down she realised that she had forgotten to ask Zhou Li what he planned to do.

Zhou Li soon reached the gate of their community.

From their neighbourhood, there were three roads leading outwards. One led to the village, but those two had robbed a dog so it was impossible for them to enter the area. The remaining two roads were in wide, straight lines and it would take a while before reaching an intersection.

The little brothers were already waiting for him. They were more than surprised to see him driving out in a car, but without delay, they pointed to one of the roads and reported, “They went that way.”

Zhou Li stepped on the accelerator without a word, tyres screeching as they drifted. He began his chase.

The author has something to say:

Zhou Li: Eggy, hold on, I’m coming!
