Hearing his name being called, Su Qiong turns around to face the owner of the voice.

His eyes widen in shock when they land on her beautiful face. He just stands rooted to the ground. His figure is completely frozen in utter disbelief.

"Little bro-"

Before Su Lian can finish her sentence, she's dragged by the arm and pulled into a deserted alley behind the school.

There is silence for a long time as neither of them says a word.

Unable to bear it any longer, Su Lian forces a smile on her face and tries to start a conversation.

"Congratulations on getting accepted into University. Your choice is a really good school."

Getting no response from him, she continues on.

"So, how have you been lately?"

He just stares at her as of he's heard the funniest joke.

"How do you think I've been all alone in that house?"

"I-"

"First mom left and it was just the two of us. Then you. Why did you leave me all alone?"

"Why didn't you take me with you? I would have gone anywhere with you. But you left without even saying goodbye."

"I'm sorry."

At this point, both of them have started tearing up a little.

"No, don't apologize. Give me a reason."

Su Lian walks forward and wraps her arms around him. She buries her face in his chest while whispering apologies. Even though she is four years older than him, the top of her head only reaches beneath his chin.

"I'll tell you everything as long as you're willing to listen."

He nods his head and hugs her back.

"It's not a good reason at all, but at that time my mind wasn't clear. I felt so broken and empty. But ask me anything and I'll answer you."

"Not here, lets' go somewhere else."

Su Qiong takes her to his apartment which is very close to the school. It's a two bedroom flat that he shares with his best friend. It's not very big or extravagant, but it's neat and tidy.

They sit at the dining table and he pours her a glass of water.

"Nice place, when did you move out?"

"You answer my questions first."

Su Lian nods her head and takes a drink in preparation for the interrogation.

"Where have you been?"

"America."

"This whole time? What have you been doing these past four years?"

"Working. I met grandma. I told her all about you and she wants to meet you."

"Is she the reason why you didn't come back?"

"No... Qiong'er

I have a son."
