Chapter 14 - Family

"Don't talk, okay. I mean don't talk with your jaw, talk to my mind." Mingyue whispered to the little kitten. Seeing her nod, she was preparing for her acting.

Based on that howl, not only the pack of Gray Wolf would definitely come here but also people from the domain.

[So my plan is pretending that I am walking around the domain. Suddenly I hear a meowing voice.]

[After reaching the source of the voice, I see a corpse of a big wolf. At the closer look, I see a small kitten is pressed down.]

[Feels bad to the kitten, I am moving the wolf's corpse. Suddenly something weird happened.]

[The corpse is howling, and then died again.]

Xia Wushan's Point of View.

No one daring enough to stop Xia Longyu, so the guards and warriors in the surrounding were only guarding the area.

"Grandpa, stop it. You will kill Dad at this rate." A faint little girl voice could be heard by Xia Wushan.

[Little girl? Don't tell me Dad is angry because of her. But, where have I heard that voice?]

"DEAD? GOOD! IT IS BETTER THAN MAKING ME KILLED BECAUSE OF ANGER!" Xia Longyu screamed.

"No! Don't! If you do that, I will become an orphan." That voice became fainter at the end of the sentence.

"NO PROBLEM! I WILL BE YOUR FATHER! I AM YOUR FATHER! I AM ALSO YOUR GRANDFATHER!"

"Why did you sound like swearing, grandpa?"

"Oh, nononono…. Your grandpa is not swearing you, little girl. But your Dad must be punished." Xia Longyu coaxed the little girl with a small voice.

All people at that place was surprised by Xia Longyu's sudden change of mood.

[Grandpa? Dad? Don't tell me. . .] Xia Wushan suddenly had a headache because of a premonition.

Xia Mingyue's Point of View

[It is my first time hear someone swearing so casually] Felt speechless, Mingyue tried to convince Xia Longyu to not beat Xia Wushan to death.

While all of their attention is on Gray Wolf's corpse, Mingyue went out of her hiding place.

Mingyue tried to make her face bow down a little and pouting a little while holding a kitten full of blood. She didn't really need to fake her fear as she was really scared.

[Of my memories, Grandpa always had his stern face, or you could say stone-faced. He always had his 'I am angry!' vibe anytime. Fortunately, Grandpa usually was patrolling, so I rarely meet him. And now I have my jackpot.]

"WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE!" Flinched by that loud voice, Mingyue almost cried. It was an accidental as she was really scared by that loud voice.

With the huge effort, Mingyue told her prepared lies to Xia Longyu. She feared that her lies would be exposed too soon. But looks like he bought Mingyue's lies. And someone would be a sacrifice.

And now, here we are. Xia Longyu was hitting Xia Wushan while blaming his incompetency.

"WHAT DID YOU TEACH TO MY LITTLE YUEYUE! THERE IS NO WAY FOR HER TO RUN AWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT! YOU KNOW THERE IS A PACK OF FIERCE BEAST! DON'T YOU HAVE YOUR BRAIN!!!" Xia Longyu began his swears.

Mingyue wished to stop him, but unfortunately, she was too scared.

While Xia Longyu was shouting many things, Mingyue smelled the scent of incoming danger.

[Looks like it was a pack of Gray Wolf.] Mingyue concluded.

At the same time, Xia Longyu stopped his attack to Xia Wushan and take the command.

"PROTECT LITTLE YUEYUE! IF THERE IS SOMETHING BAD HAPPEN TO HER, YOU CAN SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR HEAD" Ordered Xia Longyu to Xia Wushan while he led the group of guards and warriors out of the small Wolf Forest.

"Dad, are you okay?" Mingyue asked in low voice. She really felt bad about him as he was being smacked many times by Xia Longyu. But since she didn't want to reveal her secret, there was nothing more she could do.

"You little girl, why are you coming out in the middle of the night? You know it is dangerous right?" Xia Wushan asked in a soft voice. She was surprised by his tone. Even though his head was black and blue everywhere, Xia Wushan was concerned about Mingyue.

"Well forget it. . . Better return now. . . It is dangerous around here. Let's go." Sighed, Xia Wushan held her hand and went back to the domain.

Mingyue nodded her head as she couldn't let anyone see her tearing up.

"Did you find a kitten?" Xia Wushan asked while looking at the little kitchen in Mingyue's embrace.

Mingyue nodded her head again

"Do you like it?"

She nodded again

"Do you want to raise it"

". . Un. . ."

"After we arrive at home, go take a bath together with the kitten."

"Un. . ."

"Don't forget to give it a name. What name do you think is good? Little Red? Little Kitten? Little Moon? Since cat love fish, how about Little Fish?"

". . . Dad. . ."
