Just A Bit Gay

We passed notes to each other until the class ended. I stood up from my seat and was about to leave when Shen Jin stopped me.

"What's your next class?" Shen Jin asked.

"Room J - 63C Physical Science." I answered, but did I really have to tell what room?! Is my subconscious secretly hoping that we might have the same class?!

For a moment I saw him frown but it disappeared the moment it came and was replaced with a smile but not really a smile expression. "Mine's Room R - 45G Business Finance."

"Then see you around."

"Wait. What's your phone number?" He inquired directly giving me his phone.

I looked at him skeptically. Seeing my hesitation he flicked my forehead. "What are you dawdling for? We're friends aren't we?"

'We used to be friends' I almost said but for some I reason I knew if I said that there will be consequences. But friends, such a foreign thing.

"Fine. Don't bother me too much." Which is lie. I would like him to bother me, maybe he really thinks of me as a friend, having a friend sounds nice.

He waved at me good bye then headed towards his own classroom.

Surprisingly I only have one class with him today which was FABM(2). Such a shame I couldn't see his handsome face for the whole day. After all of my classes ended I received a text from Shen Jin

{Finished your classes? -SJ}

How did he know? Is it some kind of superpower? Or is he stalking me because he was enchanted by my beautiful face? Or should I just stop being narcissistic?

{Yep, I'm about to go home. -QB}

{Meet me at the cafe in front of the school in two hours. -SJ}

Excuse me? Demanding much?

{Now why would I do that? -QB}

{Because we're friends, and friends hang out after school. -SJ}

Damn it, the friend card.

{What if my other friends want to hang out as well? -QB}

{You just said you were about to go home -SJ}

I am an idiot... but why do I want to avoid him so much but at the same time want to be with him? What are these conflicting emotions?!

{Fine but you're treating me. -QB}

{Sure. -SJ}

I just went ahead and directly arrive at the cafe two hours early because I have nothing else to do. When I entered the cafe, my eyes was immediately attracted by the sight of Andrei Rico's group and coincidentally our eyes met. He gave me an 'Are you stalking me expression' which I gave him a sarcastic 'I'm innocent' face which will totally make him misunderstand. But who cares?

To make it better I went and sat at the table opposite to his table giving me a face to face view of him. I gave him a huge grin just for the hell of it. He gritted his teeth at me which made the rest of his friends look in my direction.

'Isn't he the gay obsessing on Rico?' Girl 1 whispered, if you even call it a whisper. I guess she's one of those people with a naturally loud voice.

The girl she was talking to just nodded while staring at me. One of Rico's male friends suddenly laughs. "Wow man, you're so handsome even guys are stalking you."

I rest my chin on my palm as I stared at Rico lazily. Not bothering with what his friend say.

"Shut up!" Rico stood up angrily and went into the bathroom.

"You know, you've got an awful lot of courage to pursue Rico openly." The same person that teased Rico said to me.

I just raised my eyebrow, when the hell did I ever try to pursue Rico? So since I'm not pursuing him I just ignored them.

"Not talking huh? Whatever." He then just shrugged his shoulders.

The girls started whispering to one another while the guys just talk about some stuff that boosts their ego. A while later Rico came out with an indifferent expression and sat down as if nothing happened.

(1) Fundamentals of Accounting, Business and Management (FABM) (1) and (2). In the Philippines we have this thing called k-12 where in in our grade 11 we have to choose a strand that will fit our course that we will take in college. The strands are Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); Accounting, Business and Management (ABM); Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) and FABM is part of the ABM strand.
