Just A Bit Gay

Chapter 40 - Attack

I danced all night with the women at the club until it was already 2 am in the morning. I didn't drink much nor am I planning to sleep with anyone. When I entered the elevator so I could go home I immediately felt that something was amiss. I quickly pressed the button on the floor right below where I was originally from and got off the elevator. I looked for the stairs and turned off every light switch I come across so I can tread in the darkness. The club was 8 storeys high each level representing your power and wealth depending on which floor you could enter. Obviously I was on the top floor and I stopped at the 7th floor when I felt danger lurking. I was already on the 3rd floor when my senses told me to dodge to the left. My reflexes were faster than my thoughts and I evaded, three unfamiliar and plain looking men was at my line of sight.

They didn't give me time to think and quickly attacked. I dodged, kicked and threw my punches, then I realized that they weren't trying to kill me but trying to hit spots that would make my body immobilized. They didn't have any visible weapons on their body but I couldn't be careless. I successfully grab one guy and threw him down the stairs while I took the knife hidden inside my shoes and stabbed the other one directly at his c.h.e.s.t. I kicked the other one down and successfully broke his next. The one I threw down the stairs was already on his feet, I tackled him to the ground and locked his neck between my forearm and c.h.e.s.t. He tried to struggle but by punching my sides, I endured and kept my deadly grip until he breathe his last breath. (Sorry not good with fighting scenes lol)

I searched their corpses for any identifying marks of gangs, mercenaries or assassins. Only one guy was marked and I recognized it as a tattoo of a small gang that likes to show off and create chaos in the west side of the city. He seems to be a former member because the way he fought wasn't your just run of the mill gang but one that has backing. I took a picture of their faces and sent it to Gabriel to have her identify them. I looked at the blood that has started to pool underneath the one a stabbed. I took out my phone and called Lucas, it took a few tries before someone answered.

"Hello?" I heard a woman's voice.

"Give the phone to Lucas." I said coldly.

"O-oh, okay hold on." I heard her stutter.

It took a few moments before I heard Lucas' voice. "Bai?"

"Some pests tried to ambush me." I told him.

"What! In the club?!" Lucas exclaimed.

"No at the stairs."

"Are they still there?!"

I leaned by the railings of the stairs. "Yeah. I killed them."

"All of them?! You could have kept one live to get information from!" Lucas continued to yell.

I rolled my eyes. "Too troublesome and I already have my eyes on a few suspects."

"Who?" He asked.

My eyes darken as I thought of Phantom. "Better not get too curious Lucas, you know with families like ours we're bound to have enemies."

"Okay, okay. So do you want me dispose of the body?"

"Smart but no, just discard them on some dumpster and carve the word idiot in their stomachs." I said with no consideration for the dead at all.

"Are you sure Bai? It will invite more trouble for you." Lucas worried.

"That's exactly what I'm aiming for." I said as I grinned to myself. You think you can take me that easily? I've been laying low but now you're the one causing trouble.

"Thanks man." I said as I patted Lucas back after the clean up.

"No problem man. What friends are for?" He said with a gigantic grin on his face. It's almost blinding how genuine and innocent it is. Friends huh? I've always considered Lucas as someone to pass time with and someone I could use but I'm now having second thoughts whether I should continue treating him that way. I looked at him intently until his smile wavered and he looked away. He scratched the back of his head obviously feeling awkward. "Are we still not friends, Bai?"

I raised my eyebrow. "Still?"

He started fidgeting a bit without looking me in the eye. "Yeah, I mean I'm not as dense as I seem to be, I could feel it. The way you look at us is... very distant." He looked at me for a moment and then looked away again. "I just chose to ignore it because you seem like a great guy and I wanted to be your friend." He looked down and scratched his head again.

I never realized, Lucas could be so... cute. My lips twitch and I started to chuckle. Lucas looked up confuse, I ruffled his hair. "Yeah Lucas, I consider you as a friend."

His eyes visibly lit up. "Really?!"

I nodded and patted his shoulder. "Yeah, really."
