Just A Bit Gay

Shen Jin brushed off my little episode earlier, I didn't think I would snap at him like that. When I'm with Shen Jin I can't help but feel more alert yet somehow I still let my emotions show. It's just something about him that makes me on edge like he could easily see through me.

"Do you like dogs?" I suddenly asked to get rid off the somewhat awkward atmosphere.

Shen Jin nodded. "Yeah, I have a great Dane back at the Shen family manor."

I internally heaved a sigh of relief that Shen Jin answered and didn't just keep quiet. "Really? I have a shitzu and a pitbull. You've met them that time at the park."

Shen Jin smiled. "Yeah, they seemed really friendly."

I gave him a proud smile like a parent being proud of their kids. "Yeah, it took a while to train them but I managed. They're the greatest in the world."

"It looks like you really love them. Have you ever thought of adopting more in the future?" Shen Jin inquired.

"I want to but I don't I'm able to do that right now since having two is already a handful but I do donate to shelters."

Shen Jin and I continued to talk until our food arrived. I didn't bother with my manners anymore and just directly dived in, of course still maintaining that sense of elegance in my movements. I look towards Shen Jin who took his sweet time eating his meals with such grace comparable to the ancient times, I pity his childhood if he was trained to be that way. We didn't talk much while eating because one,we're eating and two the food is really good for me to even waste a second.

"That was satisfying." I said after I wiped my face with a tissue.

Shen Jin just nodded and put a glass of wine in his mouth to finish up his meal. He looked at his phone then looked me which just gave me the signal that it was time to go. I nodded back and asked for the bill, when I looked at our bill Å 1567 which just made me laugh remembering Shen Jin's pettiness. I gave the waiter my credit card. After paying for everything we went our separate ways. I wanted to get a hug but Shen Jin's cold face told me otherwise.

When I arrived at my apartment I lazily laid down the couch cuddling with my dogs, after a few hours of cuddling I heard my phoned ring indicating that I received a message.

My eyes darkened when I thought about going to the Qin Manor for my mom's birthday, I rather celebrate it alone next to her and probably cry on her grave. I have to see my father again next week, I smiled sarcastically to myself. What's the point of even going? All he'll do is force me to do things I don't want to do, you must have high grades, you can't do this, you can't do that, it's all the same bullsh*t that comes out from his mouth. I really can't fully blame him though since half of the time I disobey him is for the sole reason of annoying him and have his face red from either anger or embarrassment, who would want to boast of having a son like me. But I wouldn't love he's angered face so much if he wasn't biased in the first place. My sister is different story, she's the apple in father's eyes. I see their pictures in the media all the time with positive headlines of their father-daughter relationship, when I was a kid I was jealous but as a grew older I started caring less and less on the vast difference in treatment. When we were kids, I wasn't close with my sister but when mom died she was the only one who cared for me even though I was a sh*tty brother she still looked out for me, every time ! get into fights she'll be the one behind the first aid kid. As the years progressed I realized how stupid I was for disliking her just because she's father's favorite, I started being nicer to her, and even have those brother and sister teasing/quarrel moments. She became my only pillar when the darkness of mom's death started to cloud my mind.

My dogs started rubbing their head on me, sensing my mood. I chuckled at their adorable antics. "I have to go to the demon's den again."

Blu barked in reply. "I know right? He is an asshole."

This time Skye also barked a reply. "I love you to Skye!" I said as i ruffled her hair and kissed her all over.
