Just A Bit Gay

Chapter 35 - 100, 100

Gonor soon arrived and arrange a room for us. I looked at Shen Jin and for the first time in a long time a felt competitiveness rush through me. I will win this and have Shen Jin twist his face in frustration. Oh how satisfying would that be?

Gonor gave each of us a gun with 10 bullets. Our targets has 100 in the middle and the score board is right above us.

"Gonor have the targets move, level 5."

Gonor nodded and have the targets move at a pace where in comparison a regular person is jogging.

"You're quite competitive, Bai. Why we were kids you're always the lazy one."

I raise my eyebrow at Shen Jin. "Eh, I'm still lazy, so who's first?"

"Winners are usually first. So I'll go." Shen Jin arrogantly said with faint teasing glint in his eyes.

"Oh ho, better not embarrass yourself later then." Amus.e.m.e.nt lacing my voice.

"It's just a friendly game, Bai." He said while aiming at the targets.

He first observed the targets and went for three consecutive shots that landed on each target. He got 92, 92, 94 points. He then shot four more which received 94, 94, 96, 93. He look towards me and gave me a provoking smile. Granted his marksmanship is good but the moment he scored below 95 the game became mine.

"I'm a little rusty since it's been a while since I've last held a gun." Shen Jin suddenly explained.

I laughed mockingly. "Oh sure you have."

"Heh, with the last three shots surely you'll be impressed." Shen Jin boasted.

The last three he had more focus, I could tell by the way his muscles slightly moved. One shot, 98 second shot 99 and finally the third one he took a deep breath and fired he got 100.

I slowly clapped my hands 1 part sarcastic 1 past actually impressed because the first few shots he made, I knew he wasn't taking it seriously but he could still hit the target anyways. Although for actually underestimating me I'll make sure to have his jaw drop.

"So how was it?" Shen Jin asked as he took off the equipment.

"It was so so." I said waving nonchalantly.

Shen Jin smiled. "It's your turn. If you win I declare our previous bet void and I would still owe you."

"Shen Jin, arrogance will one day bite you in the a.s.s." I warned.

I put on my gear and face my targets. I shot a teasing smile at Shen Jin before I made my three shots. 93, 93, 95 I saw him smile then nod and even muttered to himself. You won't be smiling once you realize what I'm doing.

I put my attention towards the moving targets, the way the targets move are random coordinates that we programmed the machine responsible to do. So the way their moving is very unpredictable that's why even if Shen Jin didn't get a full 100 if one day he gets into a gun fight he will be able to land a critical hit, and thats what makes him earn my respect. I narrowed my eyes and exhaled. The sound of the gun shots soon was heard. 95, 95, 97, 94 I look at the direction of Shen Jin and I saw his smile stiffen then he met my eyes. I smirked at him and stuck my tongue out childishly. He shook his head and laughed.

The last three shots and I look towards Shen Jin. "I win." Then I fired.

100, 100, 100.

I came back to Shen Jin's side with a wide grin on my face while as Shen Jin's face is a mixture of admiration and frustration probably because I made sure on the seven shots I'm only one point above him.

"Does your face hurt?" I suddenly asked.

"No, why would it?" He asked confuse.

"I just slapped your face with defeat!"

He laughed merrily as if him losing didn't mean anything, how boring but his laugh can sure bewitch someone. "Actually you're pretty amazing. Besides I wouldn't be resentful even if I did lose. Granted I'm a little frustrated how you just had to be 1 point above."

"You were so domineering I just had to do it."

He patted my shoulder. "I've never had someone beat me in games I'm confident in. This is the first time, strangely it doesn't feel uncomfortable at all."

"Maybe you just got used to being number 1 too much. Usually people that are like that tend to hate losing."

"It's suffocating at times." He eyes dimmed a bit.

I pondered on what he said. He's right, most people that are used to the top does hate losing but there will always be the time where when you're always at the top, expectations get higher and higher to the point where it becomes suffocating. It makes me wonder if Shen Jin ever had a break, with his family background and being first born I bet his family are pressuring him to always be excellent, always be the one leading, and always be perfect.
