Han Chi has been recuperating for more than three months, and the leg injury had basically recovered, but because the injury was caused by a gunshot, when walking down, his leg was a little inflexible, and he limped a little bit.

He was a restless person, staying at home doing nothing for so long, he felt like his body was about to go moldy.

He had sent an email to the CDC to return to the laboratory and planned to resume work next Monday. Ji Hongyi also quickly replied to the email, saying that the laboratory was short of manpower, and he was welcome to return to work as soon as possible, but he must also pay attention to his health.

Due to the pause, there were a lot of things in the laboratory waiting for him to deal with. For the first three days of resumption of work, he was busy until ten o’clock in the evening before leaving the laboratory.

Han Chi was looking up the experimental data of his researcher when suddenly his phone rang. It was a text message from Ji Hongyi telling him to go to his office.

Han Chi looked at the time on his phone. At 10:12 p.m., many of the researchers and professors on their floor had already gone home. He stared at the text message Ji Hongyi sent in a daze, and suddenly remembered the last sentence Ji Hongyi said to him in the ward.

“You will pay the price for your ‘unexpected’.”

So, had the day Yan Han predicted finally came? If he guessed correctly, then the middle-aged man who injected him with the zombie virus in Yan Han’s dream should be Ji Hongyi. He indirectly killed Ji Zhaoyan, and Ji Hongyi would not let him go easily no matter what. For more than three months, Ji Hongyi must have waited impatiently for this day, so on the third day of his return to work, he impatiently began to implement the plan he had prepared for a long time.

Han Chi read the last few pages of the experimental records, and wrote down the deviations and mistakes that were easy to make during the experiment on the last page, then sorted out the experimental platform, locked the door of the laboratory, and walked to Ji Hongyi’s office.

Ji Hongyi’s office was on the ninth floor of the building. Most of the offices in the ninth floor were of the leaders of the CDC. When he arrived on the ninth floor at about 10:30 p.m, the lights in the office on the ninth floor were off, and only the lights in the corridor were on. It seemed that the leaders went home from work on time.

Han Chi walked to the inner floor and found Ji Hongyi’s office at the end of the corridor. The lights in Ji Hongyi’s office were also off, but the door was left open. Han Chi stood outside and knocked on the door, but no one responded. After waiting for a while, he pushed the door and walked in. Ji Hongyi’s computer was still on, but the lights on the computer were too dim, and the huge office was still pitch-dark. He couldn’t tell the direction at all, so he touched the wall beside the door, trying to turn on the lights.

Han Chi was looking for the light switch in Ji Hongyi’s office when he was hit hard on his head.

Before he had time to turn around, he lost consciousness.

When Han Chi woke up again, he had been tied to a chair and couldn’t move. He looked at the surrounding environment. It was still in Ji Hongyi’s office. The difference was that this time the light was on and the door was locked.

Han Chi raised his eyes and looked at Ji Hongyi who was standing in front of him, his face did not show much surprise or fear.

Ji Hongyi wore an exaggerated virus protective suit and wrapped himself tightly, probably because he was afraid that he would be infected.

Han Chi couldn’t help laughing and said, “Is it necessary for Director Ji to dress so exaggeratedly? People on the island are more or less immune to the R virus, so you don’t have to be so nervous.”

This time it was Ji Hong’s turn to show a stunned expression on his face, “What do you mean?”

Han Chi took back the smile on his face and said calmly, “What do I mean? I would like to ask Director Ji who is tying me here, what do you mean by this?”

“Han Chi, you killed my only relative in this world, do you think I’ll let you go? You made my son a zombie, and I still don’t know where he is. These three months, my heart seems to be frying in a pan. How can I be the only one to taste this torture and pain? Don’t worry, I will also let you taste it and turn into a zombie. Tomorrow when you become a zombie, I will let the people from the Armed Forces arrest you, and then put you in the zombie cage in the isolation room, and slowly torture you. I can’t let you die happily, otherwise how can I relieve the anger in my heart?”

After listening to Ji Hongyi’s words, Han Chi still did not show any fear or panic on his face. His indifferent reaction made Ji Hongyi aware that something was wrong, but he couldn’t think of what was wrong for a while. Could it be that he wasn’t afraid of death?

“Why aren’t you afraid at all?”

“Why does director Ji have to care about whether the victim is afraid or not?”  The victim’s fear was the source of pleasure in the process of victimization.

Ji Hongyi was very angry and glared at him. In order to wait for this day’s arrival, he planned for nearly a month for the time, place, and method over and over again. In the days that followed, whenever he fantasized about the scene where Han Chi became a zombie, he laughed horribly with excitement. He imagined Han Chi begging him for mercy in horror, crouching on the ground begging him to spare his life. He just waited for this day, wanting to let Han Chi regret killing his son.

But now, Han Chi, who was tied to the chair by him, didn’t look scared at all, let alone kneel down in horror and beg for mercy.

Ji Hongyi looked up at the wall clock hanging on the wall, it was almost 1 am. He was too lazy to think too much, took out the virus and syringe prepared in advance, and injected the zombie virus into Han Chi’s body.

He thought that Han Chi just wouldn’t shed tears without feeling the danger, so when he really wanted to inject him with the virus, he thought he would be afraid, but what he didn’t expect was that he didn’t have any resistance during the injection of the virus. He looked calm, like someone who was bent on dying.

After Ji Hongyi injected him with the zombie virus, he didn’t stay too long. After all, he was still afraid that Han Chi would turn into a zombie and attack him in a short time. He looked at Han Chi, who was tied to a chair, and said to him coldly, “Han Chi, enjoy the few hours left in your life here.”

Then Ji Hongyi turned off the light in the office, locked the door, went to the bathroom, took off his protective clothing, wrapped it in a garbage bag and threw it into the trash can.

After Ji Hongyi left, Han Chi struggled hard to get the hemp rope that bound him, but it was so tight that he couldn’t move at all. Feeling tired, he stopped struggling on the chair to take a few breaths and rest for a while.
