Han Chi saw that Yan Han was motionless on the ground, endured the pain and called her name twice, but she never reacted at all.

He glanced at his watch, 1:03. Oh, why didn’t he expect that Yan Han would fall into a deep sleep at 1:00 in the morning? He had forgotten such a crucial thing.

So he hurriedly sent a text message to Li Nansheng, asking him to come to room No. 712 of the CDC.

After waiting for about ten minutes, Han Chi heard the sound of someone climbing the stairs, and the sound got closer and closer.

Seeing Han Chi lying on the ground with blood on the ground, Li Nansheng ran over anxiously and asked,  “Achi , what’s the matter with you? Why did you get a gunshot wound? Which jerk hit you?”

“Ji Zhaoyan shot me.”

“Ji Zhaoyan?” When Li Nansheng heard the name, he felt that the matter was probably more complicated. Han Chi’s face was pale, so he pressed down on the question in his heart and was about to tear his own clothes and bandage Han Chi’s wound, but Han Chi hurriedly stopped him and said weakly, “There should be gauze in the 712 laboratory. Go and look for it inside.”

Li Nansheng nodded and ran to room no. 712, then came out with the gauze in a short time.

Li Nansheng said while bandaging Han Chi, “Achi, hold on. I’ll take you to the emergency room.”

“No, you send Yan Han out of the island first.”

“Is it time to think about the zombie? Your gunshot wound is so serious. We don’t even know if it hit your bones. Your body can’t bear to drag it down,” there was an obvious anger in Li Nansheng’s words.

“But…”

Before Han Chi finished speaking, Li Nansheng interrupted him, “Don’t worry, I’ll carry you down first!” His tone was too strong to refuse.

When Li Nansheng picked up Han Chi, he noticed Yan Han lying on the side, “Why is this zombie lying on the ground? Is she dead?”

“She is sleeping.”

“Sleeping? Zombies sleep?” Then he suddenly realized, “Oh, you told me she can sleep, I almost forgot.”

It was the first time for Li Nansheng to see a sleeping zombie, so he couldn’t help but look more at her. He kept sighing, “What the ears hear is different from what the eyes see. It turns out that there is such a miracle.”

Li Nansheng put Han Chi in the car and opened the trunk and took out a big black cloth. Then he ran to the experimental building to carry the zombie.

When he climbed to the 7th floor again, Yan Han was still lying in the original posture, motionless. Li Nansheng stared at Yan Han for a few moments, and thought: Does this zombie not turn over when sleeping?

Li Nansheng swiftly wrapped Yan Han with the black cloth and carried her on his shoulders. He went downstairs, and when he walked to the back of his car, he threw Yan Han into the trunk, and then sat in the driving seat. He started the car while checking Han Chi’s face through the rearview mirror, “Achi, how do you feel?”

“Why did you throw Yan Han in the trunk?” Han Che’s tone had a hint of blame.

“I’m asking about your injury, why are you mentioning the zombie again?” Li Nansheng’s tone was also a little emotional.

Han Chi smiled helplessly, decided not to talk about that issue with him, and said, “Nan Sheng, I have to tell you something very important.”

Li Nansheng glanced at the rearview mirror and asked, “What’s the matter?”

“Ji Zhaoyan was bitten by Yan Han.”

“Ah? What? Why didn’t you tell me earlier? Now that we don’t know where he went, if he bites and eats people, won’t the ‘5.17 incident’ happen again?”

“I’m not worried about that. I’m worried about Ji Hong, Ji Zhaoyan’s father. Ji Zhaoyan’s father is probably not a good person. I’m afraid he might make trouble for you.”

“He is the director of the CDC and not the head of the Armed Forces Department. How can he make trouble? Let’s talk about it later. Achi, I think your face is wrong, stop talking and save some energy.”

Han Chi nodded, “After you take me to the emergency room, take Yan Han out of the island as soon as possible.”

“I know, I know.”

Li Nansheng sent Han Chi to the emergency room, and immediately drove the car to the dock. With the boat he had prepared in advance, he carried Yan Han out of the trunk and threw her onto the boat with a “pop”. After locking the car, he jumped onto the boat, started the engine and drove in the direction of Yunjing City.

The sea breeze at night was very cold, scraping his face like a blade. Coupled with a series of strange things that happened that night, he didn’t feel sleepy at all. It was almost 4 a.m., but he was still full spirited.

At 4 o’clock in the morning, Yan Han woke up from her sleep, only to find that she was wrapped in a black cloth. Fortunately, she was so strong that she broke the black cloth when she struggled.

Li Nansheng sat on the bow of the boat, staring blankly at Yan Han coming out of the black cloth.

Yan Han realized that she was on the boat, and saw a stranger sitting on the bow of the boat, so she gestured to Li Nansheng and asked who he was and why she was on board.

Li Nansheng didn’t understand Yan Han’s blind gestures, and thought she was schizophrenic, so he muttered to himself, “Oh, I almost forgot. Achi told me that you only sleep for three hours and will wake up at 4 o’clock. It takes seven or eight hours to reach Yunjing city. I don’t know what happened to Achi’s injury. I’m so worried about him, soI have to go back and have a look.”

Li Nansheng turned off the engine of the bow, walked into the cabin, found a small canoe and an oar from it, handed it to Yan Han, and said, “Achi said that you came from the island by yourself, so you should also know the way back. Achi is injured. I have to rush back to take care of him. You can row this boat back to Yunjing City.”
