“I heard from those professors that you caught a mutant zombie,” Ji Hongyi said while putting vegetables in a bowl.

Ji Zhaoyan was stunned for a moment. He never expected those people to report this matter to his father.

“Oh, yes,” Ji Zhaoyan’s body suddenly tightened.

Ji Hongyi casually chewed the food in his mouth and looked at Ji Zhaoyan. “I’ve always been at ease about your work. How can you do this….” Halfway through, Ji Hongyi stopped talking and continued to concentrate on eating.

Ji Zhaoyan couldn’t wait for his father’s next words for a long time, and asked anxiously, “Dad, what’s the matter?”

“The professors made trouble in my office, saying that you are hiding the test subject and asking me to be fair. Zhao Yan, I’m not against you hiding it in private, but you have to hide it so that no one knows of it. How can you be a director like this? Everyone knows that you are my son. If you hide the test subjects with confidence, they will think that I’m backing you up. The director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention is openly using power for personal gain. What does this Center for Disease Control look like? Tomorrow, the zombie you hid in the small laboratory will be transferred to the isolation room.” After finishing the command, Ji Hongyi put down his chopsticks, “After eating, clean up the dishes and chopsticks.”

Ji Zhaoyan stared blankly at the back of his father’s departure, with complex expressions on his face; Anger, unwillingness, and frustration of not being approved by his father.

Han Chi learned of the further development of the incident from Xiao Chen’s mouth. Xiao Chen said that the professors in Ji Zhaoyan’s laboratory immediately went to Ji Hongyi’s office. So when Ji Hongyi heard about what happened from them, his face turned green and he said that if it was true, Ji Zhaoyan would be severely punished immediately.

Ji Hongyi’s so-called severe punishment was to deduct Ji Zhaoyan’s salary for one year and to immediately transfer the zombie to the isolation room. Before the end of the morning meeting, Ji Hongyi slowly mentioned the matter. The scene words still accounted for 80%. The originally planned one hour meeting was extended for more than half an hour.

In total, the incident was quite unpleasant. Ji Hongyi took the matter to the table and talked about it, making everyone’s faces look unsightly. The professors who complained were even more petty, and then everyone tacitly agreed not to mention it anymore.

Han Chi saw that Ji Zhaoyan had delayed the transfer for several days, and everyone stopped making trouble for Ji Zhaoyan which made him worried.

Early that morning, Ji Zhaoyan ran to his small experiment, preparing to take Yan Han’s body tissues. The day before the previous one, he used isotope labeling to track the whereabouts of the R virus in Yan Han’s tissues, and unexpectedly came up with a deja vu experiment result. He sat at his desk thinking hard, and suddenly figured out that the reason why this experiment result looked deja vu was because he had once seen a similar experiment record-Han Chi’s experiment record.

Han Chi’s experimental record of “Experimental Subject No. 413Ⅱ” was very similar to the experimental results he obtained the previous day. Yan Han had been staying at Han Chi’s house before. Could it be that Han Che had done experiments with Yan Han’s tissues and named Yan Han “Experimental Subject No. 413Ⅱ”.

He remembered that Han Chi had two experimental records at the bottom of the drawer. One was for “Experimental Subject 413Ⅱ” and the other was for “Experimental Subject 413Ⅰ”. If “Experimental Subject 413Ⅱ” was Yan Han, then who was the “Experimental Subject No. 413 I” in 2023?

With that question in mind, Ji Zhaoyan took the experimental equipment and walked to the laboratory at the end of the corridor.

Every time he took Yan Han’s tissues, in order to prevent Yan Han from suddenly running away, he would electricize her in advance so that she could not move.

Ji Zhaoyan guarded the tray to the experiment platform, looked at Yan Han who was sitting in the zombie cage, and started talking to himself, “I don’t know how many zombies captured from Yunjing City have been killed in this laboratory, but you will be the next one. My dad has asked me to transfer you to the isolation room in front of everyone. If I still can’t figure out the specific direction of the experiment, it’s no fun to drag it down. But it’s impossible for me to willingly transfer you to the isolation room. So I plan to take enough tissue from you first, save it, and then kill you. They just asked me to transfer you to the isolation room, but they didn’t say they wanted you alive.”

Yan Han listened to Ji Zhaoyan’s self-talk, and stared at him with wide eyes. The two of them faced each other.

“Can you understand me?”

Yan Han still stared at him blankly, motionless.

“I’m really curious, how did you communicate with Han Chi? You can’t speak.”

“Could it be telepathy? Haha.”

Seeing that Yan Han kept ignoring him, he could only curl his lips in embarrassment, “It looks like you really can’t speak, did the virus damage your vocal cords?”

Ji Zhaoyan talked to Yan Han for some time. He might feel a little bored. He began to put the experimental equipment in the tray neatly, and then pulled up the switch of the zombie cage to paralyze Yan Han in the cage.
