Chapter 2.3 Elevator Encounter (2)

On Tuesday morning, most people on the radio station were off. Sang Wuyan left her mobile phone in the drawer yesterday, so she went to the radio station to fetch it by herself on his bicycle.

She parked her bicycle outside to take the elevator.

As a result, there was another man waiting for the elevator, the man with charming eyes that I met at the lake last time. But at the moment he looked a little serious on his face, and held a cane in his hand.

A very ordinary white metal cane, it was very thin and light.

Sang Wuyan wondered, this man was on crutches at a young age?

The man was tall and straight, but slightly thinner in proportion, in stark contrast to the petite Sang Wuyan, who had a slightly fat face. He was directly facing the elevator door, waiting quietly for the elevator to come down, his eyes were out of focus. After Sang Wuyan came, he politely moved a half step to the side.

Sang Wuyan was just a little strange. At this time, there were almost no people on the radio except on duty. How could such a handsome guy come to talk about advertising?

He felt like Sang Wuyan was looking at him or something, the man tilted his head, and Sang Wuyan hurriedly withdrew her gaze.

She quickly turned her head around, stared at the electronic screen of the elevator, watched the numbers gradually change without squinting, 9, 8, 7…

At this time the phone rang, and the man took the phone out of his pocket.

“Well, I’ll go up by myself, you don’t have to come down.”

Not knowing what the other party said, the man faintly replied: “The vertical line on the right, the third line from top to bottom, I remember.”

Then he hung up.

Such a succinct and clear call was so simple that it made people feel a little indifferent, and it faintly revealed a kind of impatience.

What a man who was extremely impatient, Sang Wuyan thought.

“Ding Dong—” The elevator came.

The man paused, and seemed to let himself go first.

Ladies first, this was justified. Sang Wuyan stepped in without hesitation, then she turned around and pressed the button on the floor only to suddenly realize that the man lowered the cane before starting and touched it lightly on the left and right sides of the elevator door, and then reached out to support the door frame and walked in.

Sang Wuyan, who was standing still, was dumbfounded.

He turned out to be blind.

That ordinary metal white cane turned out to be a blind cane.

Under this circumstance, looking at his line of sight, it turned out that it really fell into the distance without any focus. A pair of shining dark eyes, they were so beautiful, but they couldn’t see anything…

With a “bang”, Sang Wuyan heard her heart contract violently, and then slowly unfolded, unable to tell what it felt like.

Regret, pity, sympathy, pity, sigh… It seemed that all kinds of emotions were immediately mixed.

Recalling the morning when she first met the man in the park, he had been sitting by the lake for a long time with his eyes closed. What was he doing at the time? Was he listening attentively to the sounds of this world, or was he quietly waiting for the morning sun to fall into his eyes?

In the elevator, Sang Wuyan was behind and he was in front.

Sang Wuyan originally thought that a man would ask her to help him press the elevator, but seeing that he hadn’t spoken for a long time, she asked, “Need help?”

He paused, turned his head back a little, then looked straight ahead, and said lightly, “No, thank you.”

After four words, he tightened his lips again.

This kind of courtesy of being a thousand miles away caused Sang Wuyan to frown and raise a trace of displeasure, but this displeasure was immediately overwhelmed by the overwhelming sympathy.

She saw him raise his right hand and fumble on the two rows of buttons on the right side of the elevator door. From top to bottom, the fingers slowly slid across the metallic surface, and then continued down.

There were two elevator buttons, and he fumbled to the inner column on the right.

The elevator was going up, and Sang Wuyan wondered if he would only reach the second floor, and the destination would have passed by the time he pressed the button. Therefore, Sang Wuyan’s heart had been waiting nervously.

His fingers were very sensitive, and when he touched the first button “12”, he stopped slightly, and then continued to move downward.

Sang Wuyan suddenly thought of the phone call just now, she looked at the fingers slowly flicking the buttons.

He said, “The one on the right, the third row from top to bottom, I remember.” That was the process of how to press the elevator button as described to him by others. This elevator button had no Braille logo.

He touched the “10”, he stopped, and pressed it down without hesitation.

However, Sang Wuyan was dumbfounded, and the light on the tenth floor went out.

The characteristic of the radio station elevator was that when a floor button was pressed back and forth twice, it was canceled. Sang Wuyan also happened to go to the tenth floor, so the trouble was gone.

The man didn’t notice it, as if he was relieved heavily.

Sang Wuyan thought for a while, gently stretched out his hand, walked around his side, and then quietly pressed “10” again. After a series of actions, Sang Wuyan was convinced that the man hadn’t noticed, and then relaxed.

Sang Wuyan wanted to exhale for a long time, but then gave up. She could only sigh in her heart, like she was a thief. She touched her pocket unconsciously, and the key was gone.

“Yeah!” She couldn’t help exclaiming.

This kind of noise was particularly harsh in the elevator.

The man did not move.

Sang Wuyan covered her mouth, then flipped her handbag again, still nothing.

She frowned, and after two seconds of contemplation, she felt as if she had forgotten to lock her bicycle, and then the key and the lock were placed in the bicycle basket.

Sang Wuyan glanced at the screen before reaching the sixth floor, so she hurriedly pressed the button on the seventh floor, and when the elevator stopped and opened the door, she rushed out, preparing to change to the elevator down.

While waiting anxiously, Sang Wuyan glanced at the man inadvertently, and saw the clear eyes slowly disappearing behind the closed elevator door.
