Episode 2 – I Have Come To Keep My Promise (2)

Edelis was checking the last of her luggage that she would take when she left with Lehan. She was wondering if she should wear comfortable clothes when she ran away, or if she should wear clothes with a lot of decorations to exchange for money.

“Ah, my lady!”

Edelis hurriedly hid the bag she had packed under the bed at the sound of the maid’s urgent voice from outside.

Pretending to embroider, she called for her to come in, and the maid, who was kicking her feet in a hurry, opened the door.

“Now is not the time to embroider! The Emperor has sent a message that he is coming here himself to pick up the lady!”

Edelis quickly pushed Lehan away and looked around for the Emperor, eager to defend him.

Edelis was destined to be killed by the emperor’s sword, but not Lehan.

However, all Edelis could see was her father bowing his head.

The knights who arrived after him also knelt on one knee and bowed their heads, as if to greet their lord.

“My wife, Edelis. I have come to keep my promise. From now on, I will protect you.”

Lehan talked with a smile on his face, unconcerned with the people around him, but she was confused.

The person in front of her was definitely Lehan, who had visited her last night.

It was Lehan with red hair and golden eyes who still had the face of a child.

‘No, maybe not. Even if the person in front of me is Lehan, there is no way Lehan is the Emperor.’

Edelis had trouble processing what was happening in front of her. She still couldn’t accept reality.

The inside of the book that was opened was nothing but blank pages.

She grabbed the book and quickly flipped through the pages, until she found some writing.

Edelis was curious about what was written in the book, which was no different from a sketchbook. She found the part with the text again and opened the page.

As she started to read, a bright light burst out and a clear image appeared in the air.

Edelis was surprised and dropped the book, but the video was still displayed without interruption.

『Empress!』

『Your Majesty, how could you do this to the Empress…!』

A group of elderly men called out to the emperor and the empress in a passionate voice.

A young woman was holding her chest, which was stabbed with a sword.

However, a young man with a dark expression cruelly pulled out the sword that was stuck in her chest.

Edelis couldn’t calm her racing heart. Just then, her maid arrived.

She held the book out to her maid, her heart pounding with fear, but nothing happened.
