After class, Jiang Mian checked the time. It was before 5 pm and she looked for the nearest jade shop on her phone. Jade nurtured people and people gathered Qi. It was easy to contain Qi in jade. She needed to find one that already had some to use as a medium to set up a small spiritual gathering formation in her room; it would help her cultivate faster.

Right outside the classroom, Lin Feifei was waiting. She was wearing a white dress and greeted Jiang Mian as soon as she saw her.
“Mianmian!”
Jiang Mian noticed Lin Feifei was wearing similar clothes to what Guan Xin had on earlier, but in terms of temperament, they were quite different; one was the heroine and the other was only a villainous side character.

Lin Feifei had come to apologize. After what had happened at Jiang Mian’s place, she had thought about it all night: since Jiang Mian had some doubts about her, she should admit it and add a few lies. With Jiang Mian’s sloppy mind, it should be easy to convince her.
Lin Feifei had deliberately chosen the time to go after school and to wait outside of the classroom. Like that, her apology could be heard by everyone and start a few rumors. However, before she could even mutter a word, Jiang Mian had walked to her and put her hand on her shoulder.
“If you say one word, I will make sure you have a hard time in school from now on. Want to give it a try?”
“…”
Lin Feifei stiffened and she looked at the delicate face in front of her. Her lips moved but no sound came out. Jiang Mian let go of her and left.

After taking a taxi to the jade shop, Jiang Mian searched unsuccessfully for one that possessed Qi. The Qi in this world was so scarce treasures that contained some were even more rare.

Just as she was about to leave, she sensed something from the corner of the store. Jiang Mian’s heart jumped and she stopped.
“Sir, what is that?”
“Some broken jade I just received, it’s not worth any money.” The store owner answered. “If you cannot find anything, you can leave your contact information. More jade will come in a couple of days, I can let you know.”
The seller had naturally good eyes; when Jiang Mian had entered the store and asked him to take all the jade out, he had guessed she had a lot of money.
“Let me see.” Jiang Mian said.
Although the owner was confused, he took the bag containing the jade out and put everything on the counter. There were indeed a lot of broken pieces inside but Jiang Mian glanced at it and said: “I will buy it, how much is it?”
Boss: “…”
Boss: “Girl, these are not worth anything.”
“I like to buy worthless ones.” Jiang Mian replied casually.

In the end the owner had to say a price and Jiang Mian paid. Seeing her giving him the money with no hesitation, the man felt that he could have asked for more. He carefully checked the jade pieces again but they really were just scraps.
Jiang Mian left with a smile on her face and the seller couldn’t help but wonder: perhaps this waste actually had some value?

Jiang Mian took her jade back home. When she reached the 18th floor, she heard an electronic voice say: “The password you entered is incorrect.”
Jiang Mian: “???”
She saw the man from the garage standing in front of the door opposite hers. He still had a white cloth on his eyes and his fingers were retracting from the electronic pad.
Jiang Mian: “…” Was the world really this small?

The man entered the password once more with no luck.
“If the password doesn’t work, you may try your fingerprint.”
The man showed no reaction.
“I tried, it’s not working.”
“What’s your password? Let me enter it for you.” The man couldn’t see, maybe he had pressed the wrong button. “You can change it afterwards.”
The man stepped back and said to Jiang Mian: “521521”
But when Jiang Mian entered it, it was still incorrect.
Jiang Mian: “…”
Had he forgotten his own password?
The man seemed to guess what she was thinking about and quietly said: “No, this is the right code.”
“It might be broken then, do you have your key?”
The man shook his head.
“Can you call your assistant?”
“I left my phone inside.”
Jiang Mian: “… Let’s call the property manager.”

The property manager said he would have someone come up soon; Jiang Mian felt that she had helped as much as she could and was ready to go home.
As soon as she opened the door, she looked back at the man. He was standing alone in the hallway, his pale face and his eyes covered. The cloth was not bloody like last night but it was a fact he could not see.
Jiang Mian hesitated: “Would you like to wait at my place?”
Hearing her, the man’s head moved slightly, giving Jiang Mian the impression he could actually see her. After a short silence, the man spoke and said: “Then I will intrude.”
