Levelling up is the only answer (2)

How could anyone think of sleeping while riding on the back of a motorbike?

Park Yura couldn’t believe her eyes.

‘It doesn’t look like he has a good physique.’

Something about the way he looks makes him feel weak.

But it’s not just that.

Even someone with much less physical strength wouldn’t think of sleeping on a motorbike, a two-wheeler.

What’s even more bizarre is the fact that he’s hugging her waist tightly with both of his arms to keep himself from falling off even though he’s asleep.

His snoring sound rings in her ears as he leans his helmet against her back like its as a pillow.

‘Haa”

Somehow, I feel a little weird.

Park yura was a beauty, so wherever she went, men would often sneak glances at her appearance, almost like all hunters were intrigued by her looks.

She can’t believe that this hunter, with his weird mosquito-catching abilities, doesn’t seem to care about any of that and just casually fell asleep.

Even on the back of her motorbike.

‘Is it because I’m that comfortable?’

Or does he just see me as a tool to lean on and fall asleep?

As the thought that the latter was true crossed her mind, she felt strangely unsettled. However, she still didn’t push away Junyoung’s helmet that was  resting on her back.

It was only for a minute or maybe a few tens of seconds anyway, so let’s just leave it alone.

Being able to fall asleep like this is an amazing skill.

– Armoured beetles spotted On the West Gate entrance! It’s Moving towards the 4 o’clock direction! Requesting support!

An urgent transmission came through the radio.

Park Yura’s expression turned tense.

‘West Gate at 4 o’clock?’

This was based on looking at the west gate from the front.

Four o’clock is the direction she’s approaching right now.

She’s almost there too.

The armored beetles are formidable creatures that even she, as a C-ranked hunter, cannot handle on her own.

Just as she’s about to slow down, feeling something ominous.

Charle! charrrrr!

Suddenly, she hears the sound of something huge approaching from the fog in front of her.

At the same time, a huge monster emerges from the fog.

It was a gigantic armoured beetle that seemed to be about 20 metres long.

“It’s here Already?”

*Kreeeek!*

Park Yura urgently turned her motorbike’s direction, but the speed of the beetle surpassed hers.

The beast’s enormous mandibles swoop down as if to devour the whole motorbike.

“Wake up! We have to avoid it, Mr. Jun-young!”

But Jun-young is already awake.

Rather than just being awake, he even rolled to the side and gracefully got off from the motorbike. After executing a perfect fall, he calmly looked at Park Yura.

“Don’t worry about me and deal with that monster.”

Meanwhile, Park Yura threw her motorbike away and rushed over to Jun Young.

Thud! Crunch! Clang!

Surprisingly, the beetle was devouring the motorcycle.

“I can’t take on that thing. Run! We need to get as far away from it as possible.”

“Okay.”

Jun-young ran after Park Yura and glanced back.

He wanted to make sure the beetle wasn’t following them.

“Don’t worry. That beetle is only interested in devouring, so it won’t pay attention to anything else for a while. Later, special forces or higher-ranked hunters will come to deal with it.”

“I see, but does it recognize motorbikes as food and eat them?”

“It not only devours motorcycles but also cars and weapons. And of course, it consumes people too. It’s omnivorous.”

In other words, he is a large omnivorous predator.

What a creepy monster.

“More than that, Mr. Jun-young, the way you jumped off the motorbike is not normal. Have you been practising it?”

“I just mimicked what I once saw.”

Jun-young replied with a bitter smile.

In fact, he couldn’t think of a sport he hadn’t done.

That’s because he was so weak from a young age that his parents had forced him to do all kinds of activities.

It wasn’t just because of his parents insistence, but also because he himself was interested in it.

He didn’t want to be called physically unfit or weak.

Taekwondo, boxing, judo, kendo, aikido, jiu-jitsu, etc.

Surprisingly, he picked it up quickly, as if he was born for it.

Even his instructors praised him for his natural quickness.

But

That was only in the beginning, and before long, he was told to stop coming to the dojo.

This is because his endurance is too poor for his quickness.

Generally, one would say endurance is weak, not poor, but in Junyoung’s case, it’s not an exaggeration.

Sometimes, he would even collapse during warm-up exercises.

When this happened every day, it was no wonder the dojo asked him to stop coming.

However, Junyoung didn’t give up and kept looking for other dojos, which led to him mastering all kinds of martial arts.

Although, due to his innate low physical strength, it’s hard to tell that he’s been training.

‘But it’s really amazing.’

He had just performed a very difficult fall.

Of course, it’s only difficult by normal human standards, not so much for him.

However, after performing such demanding movements that require excessive quickness, he would quickly become fatigued, which is normal for most people.

‘I’m a little out of breath, but I can handle it.’

Even now while he’s running alongside Park Yura, he’s still holding up well.

I’ve been sleeping on the motorbike for a while to regain my strength, but even so, it’s really incredible.

This is another benefit of being Awakened.

I’m sure it’s due to the increased stamina that comes with being a Level 3.

‘West Gate, 4 o’clock, I’m on the move with specialised bloodsucker hunter Kang Joon-young, we’ve encountered an armoured beetle and are on the run, we need urgent support!”

Meanwhile, Park Yoo-ra was still running and  communicating via radio about the current situation.

However, instead of simply referring to  Junyoung a F-rank hunter, she specifically referred to him as a specialised hunter at dealing with blood-sucking creatures.

It’s not be a big deal, but it’s a thoughtful gesture.

Tsurrrr!

At that moment, a strange sound echoed from behind, and when Junyoung turned around to look, he realised that the armoured beetle, which was  devouring the motorbike, was now chasing after them.

“It’s going to be tough, but we need to speed up a bit. Don’t worry, help will be here soon.”

Park Yura then pushes Joon-young’s back with her one hand as they were running.

Surprisingly, it helps a lot.

‘It definitely takes less effort to run now.’

But relying on someone else for support doesn’t make him feel comfortable.

‘If I don’t want to be a burden, then levelling up is the only answer.’

That will help me overcome my weak physique.

“——!”

Just then, two strange looking insects flew in front of him.

‘Are they a new kind of Bloodsuckers?’

I don’t know their species.

But I know a bloodsucker when I see one.

“Watch out! They’re dangerous bloodsuckers!”

Park Yura pulled Jun-young aside.

“It’s okay, I’m an expert at dealing with them. Let’s kill it, now that we’ve seen it.”

“Oh, right. Okay.”

Park Yoo-ra loosened her grip on Jun-young.

Boo

At that moment, that dangerous blood suckers rushed forward with a heavy sound of vibration.

Tut-tut!

Jun-young then swung his hand lightly as if he was making a jab.

While he had innate reflexes, it was more accurate to attribute his exceptional ability to his special skill “Agile Hands” that he had  manifested.

‘Kiaaak!’

‘Kaaaak!’

The dangerous bloodsuckers exploded while letting out horrific screams.

‘Why Did I not Level up again?’

‘I was hoping that they’d have as much strength as the tiny bat-like bugs which I saw earlier.’

Unfortunately, his level remained the same, much to his disappointment.

‘Seems like the required experience points have increased as your level goes up.’

This is a common knowledge that even most non-hunters know.

However, at that moment, Park Yura looked at Junyoung as if she couldn’t believe what she had seen.

“That’s unusual.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Those dangerous bloodsuckers never die like that. They’re fast enough to disappear from sight at the slightest vibration in the air, but it’s strange that they didn’t detect Jun-young’s hand when it was approaching them.”

They can’t detect my hand?

‘Is that why they can’t escape while dying?’

In fact, Jun-young is able to kill mosquitoes and other bloodsuckers with ease, but he has no idea how it works.

Of course, he didn’t  need to know.

‘It’s just a matter of catching mosquitoes.’

But Park Yura is a seasoned C ranked hunter, and she’s been watching Joon-young casually kill a dangerous species of bloodsucker.

“What the hell is that hand of yours?”

She then looks curiously at Joon-young’s hands.

“It’s just a normal hand, right?”

“Try hitting me with it.”

“What?”

What does she mean by that?

But Park Yoo-ra has a serious look on her face.

She took off her helmet and held it in her left hand.

“I mean it literally, punch me in the face with your fist.”

“You want me to hit Ms. Yura right now?”

“Don’t worry about mr, I’ll avoid it.”

Sensing Junyeong’s concern, Park Yura couldn’t help but look bewildered.

Even if Junyoung were to attack her, she was confident that she could dodge.

“Okay.”

In an instant, Junyeong took on a boxing stance, and with the speed of the wind, he threw punches that were executed with flawless precision, from his gaze to his footwork.

Shhhh!

However, Park Yura effortlessly evaded Junyeong’s punches while wearing a smile on her lips as she lightly swayed her upper body in order to avoid the attacks.

“Quite fast, aren’t you? It seems like you didn’t take your training lightly. But why are you not taking it seriously?”

“Are you saying that I’m not hitting you seriously?”

“Seriously, attack me like you did with those bloodsuckers just now.”

She wasn’t joking.

Joon-young looks at Park Yura, who dodges his jab with a simple shake of her head, and marvels that a rank C Hunter is different from a F rank like him.

‘My fists are strongest in the beginning, and if you dodge them, then there’s no danger.’

Even Jun-young, who has low physical strength, was good at fighting during his middle and high school days.

I always went on the offensive right from the start if I had to fight because I knew the importance of deciding the outcome within the first 10 seconds.

Those who were struck by his punches were often knocked out instantly, earning him the reputation of being the strongest at one point.

Later on, he was made fun of by those who realised that his weakness was his physical strength.

‘Choi Kwang-hyun, I suddenly remembered that bastard.’

He was the leader of a group of bullies in high school who relentlessly mocked and tormented him for his weak physique.

He eventually had to drop out of school because of him.

‘Inhuman, mosquito-like bastard!’

That is a perfect description for Choi Kwang-hyun.

Why you ask?

Because Jun-young hates mosquitoes more than anything else in the world.

In other words, calling someone a mosquito is the absolute worst thing he can call them.

‘Choi Kwang-hyun! Stay out of my sight as much as possible.’

I’ll crush you like a mosquito.

Pow!

Suddenly, Park Yura couldn’t dodge Jun Young’s fist, which suddenly appeared in front of her eyes.

His fist stopped just about a centimetre away from Park Yura’s face.

‘Why is it so fast suddenly?’

It was a ridiculously fast movement.

I couldn’t see his fist coming.

That’s when Joon-young hurriedly jumped back.

“Why didn’t you dodge it? It almost hit you.”

Park Yura shook her head.

“I didn’t dodge it, did I?”

“I know that you didn’t dodge it on purpose.”

“If I was hit then I would have broken my nose. Do you think I’m crazy?”

She really couldn’t dodge?

A C ranked hunter?

Jun-young thought Park Yura was just playing around.

“More than that, I don’t think this is the time to be doing this.”

He pointed to the armoured beetle that had gotten closer and gestured for them to run.

Then Park Yura pointed to one side.

“Don’t worry. Do you really think I would be doing this without any plan?”

Then she pointed in the direction of a woman.

“Who is she?’

She’s dressed in casual clothes, no helmet, no special protective gear, but the Force she exudes is no joke.

A bluish aura, reminiscent of swirling smoke, flickered around the woman’s body like flames.

“She was an A ranked Hunter Kwak Hye-na!

In other words, Park Yoo-ra relaxed when she saw that Kwak Hye-na had appeared.

Kwajak!

At that moment, Gwak Hye-na swiftly rose up and flew towards the armored beetle,

delivering a powerful kick to its exoskeleton.

She then used the recoil to spin backwards and land on the ground like a nimble cat.

Tak tak tak

It only took her one kick to crush the giant armored beetle’s snout.

It didn’t end there.

Gwak Hye-na then with a terrifying expression, tore the fleeing body of the beetle apart with her saw-blade-like aura of blue energy.

“I’m done.”

Kwak Hye-na gave a slight nod to Jun-young and Park Yura, as if her work there was done, and then she disappeared into the fog.

“Oh, right.”

She suddenly reappeared and stood in front of Jun-young.

“I’m sorry to bother you, but do you mind if I ask for that buff from earlier?”

“You Mean The mana mosquito net?”

“Yes.”

No matter how you look at it, Kwak doesn’t seem to need it.

After all, a superhuman who can kill a armoured beetle with a single kick is unlikely to be bitten by a mere bloodsucker.

But Kwak was serious.

“If I have it, I don’t have to put up a shield against mosquitoes, and it will help me a lot by reducing my mana consumption.”

“I see.”

Jun-young then willingly spread his mana mosquito net.

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. But  I should be the one thanking you for saving me from the armored beetle.”

“That’s my job.”

Kwak Hye-na smiled and held out a small vial.

“Take this.”

“What’s this?”

“It’s a potion that replenishes a certain amount of your depleted mana. I’m giving it to you because I think I might need to ask you for a mosquito net buff from time to time, so don’t feel too pressured.”

“Thank you thenI’ll take it.”

I heard that mana potions are very expensive.

It’s not something Junyoung can easily afford at the moment.

It would definitely be helpful to have these.

“So its duration has increased by 10 minutes?”

“I’ve levelled up in the meantime.”

“Congratulations! However, is it possible to stack multiple Mana Mosquito Nets?”

“Stack them?”

“Haven’t you tried it?”

“I didn’t know it was possible.”

Then Kwak gave him a leaning look.

“You won’t know until you try it. So why not Give it a try.”

Is it really going to work?

It would be great it it does work.
