Chapter 5 – Vicious

March 27th, 2022

“What’s the matter?”

Su Yue’s eyes were sharp. Children are the most innocent and cannot conceal anything. She can clearly see the fear in the little boy’s eyes.

“I couldn’t figure out why there were cockroaches in the bathroom right now. The young master was terrified. It’s all right, young master. I have trampled the cockroaches to death. You should eat your food quickly.” Inadvertently, He Xiaoqin pushed Jiang Haoyan back with her hand.

Jiang Haoyan lowered his head and sat back down.

“You’re a little man; don’t be afraid of the cockroach; just step on it and kill it.” Su Yue reached out to touch his little head, and the next thing she knew, he stretched out his little hand and patted her hand away.

Jiang Haoyan’s eyes are filled with both hatred and fear, but he is too young to understand. Fear has won, and his big eyes turn bright red in an instant. Su Yue drew her hand back, but she was not angry. She knew the little guy despised her, and it wasn’t going to change in a day or two. “Don’t worry, I’ll find someone to clean up the house in the afternoon.” “I’ll peel the shrimp for you, so let’s get to eating.” Su Yue placed the small bowl before Jiang Haoyan.

Jiang Haoyan looked at her with big wet and sad eyes, then lowered his head and ate without humming, not even touching the bowl of shrimp meat.

“You stay.” Su Yue looked over as the man’s cold voice rang out, and Jiang Ci said this to the little boy.

Jiang Haoyan raised his small head, his big black eyes shining brightly at Jiang Ci.

Su Yue assumed the two father and son were going to talk about something private, so she told He Xiaoqin to quickly clean up the table and leave, as she had something else to do.

The room became quiet as the door was closed, and the air smelled of sunshine as Su Yue opened the curtains.

“Come here.” Jiang Ci sat on the chair; he was tall, and even sitting, he made people feel oppressed.

The little boy lingered on the chair for a while, then jumped to the ground, walked to Jiang Ci’s side with his short legs, and carefully pulled on Jiang Ci’s hem, “Dad.” He raised his small head, his big eyes twinkling.

Jiang Ci lowered his head, his dark eyes unfocused, “What happened just now?” Jiang Haoyan isn’t even afraid of mice, so how can he be afraid of cockroaches?

“Dad…” Jiang Haoyan frowned and pursed his lips. He wasn’t sure if he could tell his father.

“Tell me.”

How could the little boy lie when his father asked him, Jiang Haoyan looked at Jiang Ci with big eyes and replied in a baby voice, “Hao Hao hurts.”

Initially, he wanted to be a brave man and hold back his tears, but in the face of his favorite daddy, the little boy instantly felt aggrieved, and even though he knew his dad couldn’t see it, he lifted up his clothes and pointed to the red marks on his body from pinching, “Dad, Hao Hao hurts.”

“Where does it hurt?” Jiang Ci asked, his brow furrowed slightly.

“Stomach, sister pinch…” Although he is only three years old, the little boy is very intelligent and has a good memory. He repeated what He Xiaoqin had said to him and began to repeat in a baby voice to Jiang Ci.

Su Yue dashed to the villa after leaving the Western Building to find Mr. Jiang.

“You said you wanted to pull out all the flowers in the back garden and replace them with bamboo?” Mr. Jiang sat behind the desk, his hair white, but his face brimming with vitality. At this moment, his sharp eyes were fixed on Su Yue.

He was dissatisfied with this granddaughter-in-law. If it hadn’t been for such a scandal and the Jiang family felt the pressure, it would have been impossible for her to marry Jiang Ci.

“Yes, Grandpa, those flowers are a gathering place for mosquitoes. Instead, I’d like to plant bamboo and create a bamboo forest; it would be elegant.” Jiang Ci mentioned pollen allergies. She couldn’t believe Mr. Jiang didn’t know about it, but he did and still allowed the flowers in that yard to bloom, so Su Yue had to come up with a plan.

The book describes how Mr. Jiang values the male lead and is even pleased with the female lead as the granddaughter-in-law, while Mr. Jiang does not say much about Jiang Ci, who has been resting in a Western building; after all, Jiang Ci is just cannon fodder in the book.

“Don’t worry, grandpa; I’ll make the workers’ work less noisy so that it doesn’t interfere with Jiang Ci’s recovery. Furthermore, Jiang Ci remains in the room all day and does not leave. He will not object even if I create a bamboo forest.”

“Since you like it, ask the butler to arrange staff,” Mr. Jiang said, looking at Su Yue’s eyes sharply while she stared back. Okay, Grandpa, I’ll invite you to tea.” Su Yue’s face was round and fleshy, and she now smiled and looked stupid.

Mr. Jiang smiled and nodded, “All right.”

She went to the butler after Su Yue had left and asked him to arrange manual labor for today.

Su Yue felt a little better after explaining the situation. Jiang Ci can only stay in the room all day. He’s probably bored. Now that she’s worried, she doesn’t ask him to show his face; she just hopes he’ll be in a better mood. She will suffer less if he is less angry in the future.

However, as Su Yue walked back to the Western building, her head began to hurt, and the bell rang once more.

“Angry value: 40.”

Su Yue screamed in agony, that man Jiang Ci, she had only been gone for a short time, what had made him so angry?

Outside, the sunlight was scattered on the ground, forming a soft circle of light inside. He Xiaoqin, who was standing in front of Jiang Ci at the time, felt a chill all over her body, and her hands were shaking uncontrollably.

She hadn’t expected to be discovered by Jiang Ci.

Working in the Jiang family for so long taught her that Jiang Ci didn’t care about this son and that he was simply being raised. Not to mention Su Yue, she despised Jiang Haoyan and could hear Su Yue scolding this stepson as a wild breed several times. Even if Su Yue was aware of what she had done, the other party would most likely ignore it and pretend not to be aware.

That’s why she was so confident.

What went wrong? How did Jiang Ci discover it?

He Xiaoqin raised her gaze to Jiang Haoyan, who was leaning against Jiang Ci and pulling at the hem of Jiang Ci’s clothes. When he saw her look over, he shrank to Jiang Ci’s side.

“I was forced, Master Jiang Ci.”

He Xiaoqin knew that denying it in front of Jiang Ci was pointless. After all, children are incapable of lying. She only needs to point the finger at Su Yue. Su Yue, after all, dislikes Jiang Haoyan. The entire Jiang family was aware of this.

“I simply carried out Mrs. Su Yue’s orders. If I do not cooperate with her wishes, she will fire me.”

Su Yue entered the room just as she finished her words.

“What happened?” Su Yue’s voice was a little tense; she was suffering from a headache.

He Xiaoqin didn’t expect Su Yue to appear just in time, her face changed, and thanks to Jiang Ci’s blindness, he couldn’t see her change of expression.

“Young Madam, what you told me… was discovered by Young Master Jiang Ci; please don’t let me do such a thing again; even if you dismiss me, I will accept it.” Preempted He Xiaoqin.

“What did I instruct you to do?” Su Yue half-squinted her eyes and looked at He Xiaoqin, who was looking at her with an embarrassed expression.

“You say that the young master is not good and order that I punish the young master.”

“Did I ask you to punish Xiao Hao Hao?” Su Yue noticed Jiang Haoyan hiding behind Jiang Ci, uneasy and revealing only half of his chubby body.

Su Yue was most likely aware of what had actually happened. Something seemed to have happened to the little boy, and Jiang Ci became enraged.

“Did she hit you?” Su Yue inquired directly of Jiang Haoyan.

Jiang Haoyan’s pale face was solemn, his brows clenched. He gently tugged Jiang Ci’s clothes and scolded Su Yue in a baby voice, “Bad woman.” Hao Hao is no longer afraid of her now that his father has arrived.

“How did you punish him?” Su Yue approached He Xiaoqin, her voice was sweet but cold.

This is not right. He Xiaoqin looked at Jiang Ci, who had an expressionless face and dark eyes and then at Su Yue, who was questioning her. Shouldn’t she make an argument for herself for the first time?

“She pinched Hao Hao.” Jiang Haoyan spoke in a baby voice, and then he purposefully bulged his belly, indicating that his belly was pinched.

“You pinched him?”

Su Yue had read the news before, and there were reports that some nannies vented their dissatisfaction with the employer on the employer’s child, and secretly abused the child. She hadn’t expected anything like this to happen to her.

“You are very vicious. Are you dissatisfied with me to the point where you want to slander me?” Su Yue’s eyes were icy “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with adults using deception to achieve their goals; after all, everyone has ambition and schemes. But if you use your schemes on innocent children…”

She said with a bit of ruthlessness, “That’s a beast.”

“I’m just doing what you tell me to do.”

He Xiaoqin’s tone grew agitated, and her hands clenched unconsciously. Su Yue in front of her seemed to have changed. She used to be stupid and brainless. She would only yell if she was in trouble, and she would never ask others calmly like she is now.

Who is Su Yue? What kind of struggle and scheming has she never witnessed in the entertainment industry? He Xiaoqin’s slander and blame, how could she not see it, “Jiang Ci, I don’t know about this, I didn’t like Xiao Hao Hao before, but I’m not going to take a child out of anger, and my heart isn’t so vicious.”

“Besides, if I truly want to use any means, there is no reason to order someone with an opinion on me to do that.” Su Yue wasn’t sure if Jiang Ci would believe her, but she had to explain everything.

“I’ll take care of this.” Jiang Ci spoke slowly after a while.

What does it all mean? Do you believe her?

“Young master, that’s exactly what the young madam instructed me…”

Jiang Ci was expressionless, ignoring it at all.

He Xiaoqin became agitated, and a chill ran up her spine. Her voice trembled as she spoke: “I’m wrong. It’s Young madam. It’s really Young madam…”

Initially, she was arrogant. She reasoned that she could vent her grievances while framing Su Yue. How could she have predicted that this matter would be brought to light so quickly?

She is now in a state of complete panic.

She noticed Jiang Ci making a phone call. Soon after, several people dressed in black entered. He Xiaoqin wanted to explain, but she was taken away with her mouth shut.

Su Yue was stunned for a moment, then satisfied; did he believe her? She considered Jiang Ci to be a trustworthy man, and he would not cast doubt on her character based on the words of others.

“Dad.”

Jiang Haoyan looked at He Xiaoqin, who had been taken away, his delicate facial features were wrinkled and worried. “She can’t go, no one takes care of Dad.”

“I don’t need anyone to look after me.” Jiang Ci lowered his head and turned to face Jiang Haoyan, who was standing next to him.

The little boy’s eyes are large and round, and his two small brows are tightly drawn together. He is aware that his father cannot see, and he requires assistance in pouring water, putting bath water, and cleaning up the room… Haohao also wants to look after his father, but he is still young.

Su Yue’s headache hasn’t gone away, the bell is still ringing in her head, and she knows Jiang Ci is still angry.

She approached Jiang Haoyan, squatted in front of him, and reached out to touch his head “Was your stomach pinched? Let me take a look.”

Jiang Haoyan hurriedly tugged the hem of his small clothes with his small hands, fear in his big eyes, but also shyness, the baby voice super cute. “Not allowed to look at the boy’s stomach.”

Su Yue looked perplexed and softly coaxed, “I’ll see if I want to help you rub the medicine.” She reached out and tried to pull on the little boy’s clothes.

Where is Jiang Haoyan’s small body able to struggle to shut? Su Yue unbuttoned his small clothes, revealing his soft and fleshy white belly. He has a lot of red on his waist. It hasn’t been pinched in a long time and hasn’t yet turned purple and blue.

Jiang Haoyan was dissatisfied, his small mouth was flat, and his big eyes were filled with conflict toward Su Yue.

“There isn’t anything serious.” “Your father will not be left unattended,” Su Yue said as he drew his clothes back up.

Jiang Haoyan’s large black eyes widened in surprise.

“I am his wife, and I will take care of him,” Su Yue said to Jiang Ci.

“Angry value: 0.”
