If you weren't rich enough, just conveniently invent some new tax to shave  a layer of wool off those fat and greedy merchants to fatten up your pockets.

What? Those pesky merchants dare fight back?

Charge them with treason for attempted murder of a noble and directly exterminate their family, taking all of their hoarded wealth for yourseld .

Even those talented peasants who were accepted by the magic tower were often generously sponsored by wealthy nobles, so why would they rebel?

The untalented ones weren't sponsored, and those vindicated ones would sometimes join the revolutionary army, but this led to another problem.

If they weren't talented, how could they become a Master level Mage?

It was things like this that made lack of, Master level mages in the Revolutionary Army a reinforcing loop.

It was also as a result of this that the one Master level Mage in the revolutionary army had quite a high status.

Perhaps the only one who could order him was Lucius's father, Sirius but he had already gone to meet his maker under the sword of the Empire's Assassin squad.

Lucius had managed to get him to make this scroll for him but in doing so he had used up all the personal favour his father had given the Mage for him.

Unless it was a direct  instruction from the Revolutionary Army, Lucius could forget about using the Master Level Mage for his own personal gain

If his life wasn't in any level of mortal danger then the Master level Mage would no longer move to help him.

Although Lucius was a bit dissatisfied with the mage's attitude, it was still miles better than those bastards that were still trying to wrestle away the leadership of the revolutionary army away from him.

So although it was a bit wasteful to use a master level mage's favour on a scroll, Lucius didn't regret it.

Lucius held the scroll high and as he did so, inserted a sliver of mana into it, causing it to glow in a crimson-red colour

The entire time this happened, Veronica was in his ear trying to convince him otherwise, but Lucius didn't even hesitate

Master Level Spell - Fire Storm!

The page was torn and all Lucius saw was a dazzling ocean of red flames

Like a scene straight from hell, all the visible floor was quickly replaced with a sea of fire as the scalding temperature in the burning area made Lucius's skin a little flushed.

But even with this, it wasn't over just yet.

"Aargh!!!"

A group of terrifying screams sounded out from inside the forest as a few of the largest trees within the sea of fire began to shake and transform.

In truth, it wasn't  just  these few trees.

Many other trees began to shake and try and transform but once they were caught in the endless flames there only fate was to be turned into a large lump of charcoal

Eventually just a few burning trees could rise up and transform and Veronica could just watch with a gaping mouth as the tree rose up and started to fork legs, arms and even faces.

"Treants!"

Veronica cried in shock and alarm when she saw this sight, but whilst Veronica was crying in shock, Lucius had already begun to move.

What? Should he sit and wait for these monstrous trees to complete their transformation? Sorry, but Lucius wasn't that much of a gentleman.

With the protection of his [Ultimate Fire Resistance], Lucius didn't fear the flames in the slightest and bravely dashed forward.

Lucius moved forward with shocking speed and jumped forward onto the giant burning treant.

Lucius landed on one of the treant's massive branches near the treant's face with a loud thud.

A dazzling blue light flashed on Lucius's sword as Lucius slashed down directly on the treant's twisted wooden face!

"Arrghh!!"

The treant's deep wooden cries shook the burning forest as the treant raised its giant arm to swat away Lucius.

But how could Lucius allow himself to  be hit by such a slow and obvious move?

He quickly jumped over the arm at the last minute, causing the treant to hit itself as it stumbled and groaned.

But Lucius wasn't done yet.

Landing on the floor, Lucius brandished his sword that was completely covered in the blue light of mana reinforcement and slashed fiercely at the treant's already damaged legs and the attack didn't disappoint.

Although Lucius didn't cut cleanly through the treant's tree-like leg, the cut was still deep enough to leave a giant cut.

And from there on out, It was just like chopping down a regular tree

All Lucius forgot to do was yell timber as he watched the giant tree man stumble on the floor before being entirely consumed by raging flames

But Lucius didn't get to admire his work for long before he was suddenly forced to dodge.

"Bang!"

In the exact spot Lucius had been standing a second ago a giant whip like vine smashed down leaving a deep dent into the forest floor.

Before Lucius could think too deeply of another plan two more vines shit out but this time it was important to dodge

Lucius just snorted as entered the posture  of the famous sanctuary sword style he had practised tirelessly by now.

Lucius remained calm as the vines approached him and perfectly deflected the two bone attacks redirecting most of the force behind the attacks and allowing Lucius to slip past the two attacking vines.

Lucius didn't slow down and instantly dashed towards the grant but he only managed to take a few more steps before he saw five more vines shoot out of the floor into the air before crashing down towards him

"Shit!" Cursed Lucius

Lucius's face turned a little ugly but he knew that it was already too late to doge. What he had to do know was power through and break through it all!

But just as Lucius prepared to  protect himself with mana, he saw a red streak tear through the sky as two giant fire arrows crashed into the face of the treant.

Boom! Boom!

"Aghhh!"
