It as if there were jet engines attached to the back of the daggers!

"Gulp!"

Seeing Lucius's reaction, Serena just smiled.

"Did You see that? Do you think you can give it a try?" Asked Serena.

Lucius just twisted his neck and stretched out his hand that held the daggers.

Lucius took a deep breath and heightened his concentration to the limit as he prepared to try out the new technique

But before that, there was still something that needed to be done.

'System, Buy the intermediate Dagger talent'

[Ding!]

'Confirm'

As soon as Lucius had this thought a warm tingling sensation swept across his body, penetrating into every cell.

The dagger he held in his hand felt less and less like an object and more like an extension of his body.

Serena, who had been watching from this side, raised a brow.

Although it was subtle, she could clearly sense a change in Lucius's demeanour.

It wasn't obvious but just his stance and the way he held the daggers became more refined.

As if he had just endured several hours of training already.

'Is this talent…'

Serena's eyes shone with a greedy light.

'I want it! This kid has to become my true disciple. Fuck swords, he should become a true assassin instead!'

[ Ding! LP+ 100]

Lucius ignored the notifications that went off in his head and now focused on his daggers.

Due to the addition of dagger talent, his conduction of mana into his dagger was almost seamless.

It flowed into the dagger sprouting out forming giant tendrils of man that branched out from each dagger.

Lucius's face hardened as he used his mental strength to compress the tendrils of mana into a smaller shape and began to rotate them like propeller blades.

Lucius could feel the wind picking up and blowing his hair back.

A small smile crept into his face but it didn't last long before Lucius's face hardened.

The dagger in his hand started shaking, becoming even more and more violent.

Even Lucius's draconic strength was not enough and the daggers flew wildly out of his hand slamming into the wall.

"Fuck!"

Lucius's face quickly turned ugly as a vulgar curse escaped his lips.

He was about to release another string of expletives when a sudden smack sounded across the back of his head.

"Tch! So vulgar!"

Serena's annoyed voice rang out as her ink-black eyes looked at Lucius.

"There's no need for such a foul expression and all that cursing."

"I don't know what kind of god you consider yourself as, but it's impossible to learn a technique on the first try! Even I, your master, had to struggle for a while before I could get started with it."

"Kids these days really have no patience!"

'She's right…' thought Lucius taking a deep breath

Serena's ramblings quickly knocked some sense into Lucius again.

The eagerness to learn the techniques was starting to get the better of him, he had to control it.

After all, no matter how great the techie was, it was just strength at the end of the day and strength he would control to its fullest!

Lucius calmed down and began to start his practice all over again. His movements were cold and calm but if you looked in his eyes you could see a burning endless hunger, a hunger for strength!

…..

Roughly a week later,

A stunningly handsome man was left standing in the centre of the training room.

A group of magical training dummies was surrounding the young man, attacking him from all angles and yet he walked casually through the crowd, each attack phasing through his body as if he was a ghost from the underworld.

The man suddenly looked up as deep red light flashed in his eyes as a pair of daggers were quickly brandished

The daggers were vibrating with a subtle hum as a visible blue blur surrounded each dagger.

"Vortex!"

With the young man's cry, a tempest of blue mana seemed to rage as a series of explosion-like thuds were heard all around him.

Suddenly, each training dummy fell to the ground as if it were magic!

Lucius looked at the chaotic scene of collapsing dummies and a dazzling smile appeared on his face

Finally!

He had finally mastered <Vortex> enough to use it with his movement technique <Wraith Walk> and use it in group combat!

Of course, this technique was nowhere near mastery. The truly mastered version showed no blue aura and was completely invisible which not only increased its strength and speed but stealth as well.

After all, the true purpose of the vortex technique was an assassination technique and at certain times stealth can be more important than damage

Although there was still a long way left to go it didn't change the fact that Lucius had mastered a new technique.

Lucius took a slight break to recover his stamina and fully absorb the details in the Vortex technique that he felt before going right back to practice.

But this time, instead of a pair of daggers what Lucius brought out was instead a sword.

Serena who had been watching this at the side couldn't help but smile.

"This again Lucius. I've told you it's not gonna work, just accept your fate and become an assassin."

Lucius's brow twitched at Serena's blatant taunts but he didn't falter.

He didn't have faith in himself, but in Landon, the busted original protagonist of the story. This was a technique he created at the end of the day!

Lucius slowly sheathed his sword and got into a sword drawing stance at the same time inside of, the sheath a small vortex formed around the sword.

The sword in his hand began to rattle and shake violently but Lucius didn't let up. His face hardened as he gathered the vortex in the sheath and started compressing it, going from less of a vortex and more into a powerful spring.

Lucius could feel it!

The mana gathering at the bottom of his sheath became more powerful and compact causing a bright smile to appear on his face, but right as he started to unsheathe the sword-

"BANG!"
