He Only Married Me To Show Her That He Already Moved On

Chapter 89 - eighty-nine: Meeting the father-in-law

"Love, please don't remove the shattered glasses on the floor and let the maid do it."

"What comes in your mind, Mister? That even the flat-screen TV which just hanging on the wall and has nothing to do with you, but you didn't give a damn and you f.u.c.k.i.n.g destroyed?" my voice was a bit loud.

"Oh love, I'm sorry. I'm just gonna buy you a new one."

"Huh! Buy a new one-----"

I turned around to see him only in a towel which loosely hanging on his waist. I gulped when my eyes landed on his toned and muscled c.h.e.s.t, down to his six packs abs and to the sinful v-shape line that displayed visibly to my n.a.k.e.d eyes.

And when I glanced up on his face, I noticed the smirk that playing on it.

"You're drooling, love."

"Tss! Wow!" I exclaimed with a sneer. "Excuse me Mr. Wilsons, but can you kindly put down your self-confidence even on a second? I admit, your handsome, your s.e.xy and I love you, but I also need your help to clean all your mess inside this whole room!" I raised my eyebrow as I put both hands on my h.i.p.s.

He laughed in his boyish and carefree laugh, that I missed so much.

"I love you too, my beautiful wife. And thank you for calling me handsome and for appreciating my s.e.xiness. Don't worry, these are all yours." I can't help not to chuckle when he winked at me.

"Gosh! Can you put on some clothes?"

-'You're distracting my thoughts!'- I silently added.

"Okay, I'll be there in a minute." he winked again before he closed the bathroom door.

I loudly sighed as a happy smile crept on my lips when I remember all the happenings these past few days and the things that happened earlier. And it's so funny to think that we're now back to our normal conversation las if nothing happened. This is it. This is the start of everything. I am now accepting my title and my name, but of course with still the same tag. 'I am Mrs. Madielyn Davis-Wilsons, the ever beautiful, confident and strong Madi Wilsons.'

"Wow!"

Nancy exclaimed while grinning widely when she and Martin saw us walking hand and hand on the stairs. Gabriel looked at me and give me a loving smile.

"So, that means you two were now okay? Oops!" she bring her both palms in the air. " You don't actually need to answer that. I already knew the answer based on my brother's broadly grin."

And her brother give her a throaty laugh.

"Ahh.. congratulations!" she squealed and hugged me excitedly and also her brother. "I hope you two can now be happy with each other. And please, no more dramas again! You're both like teenagers nowadays, gosh!"

Gabriel and I both chuckled when she rolled her eyes.

"Congratulations babe---Oh, I mean Madi." Martin's eyes widened when the two glared their eyes on him. "Congratulations Gabriel and Madi." he said scratching the back of his neck. "Uhm.. can I hug her?" he asked while pointing to me and his eyes were moving from Nancy to Gabriel.

I looked up at Gabriel's face and I found him in his serious expression.

"Yes, but only one second!"

"One second?"

"Gabriel?"

Both Martin and I snapped at him in unison.

"What will happen in just one second?" Martin complained with a scrunched face. "I could not even wrap my arms around her!"

"Fine! Five seconds!"

"Okay." Martin said with a shrug."That's better than one second." and he winked at me.

I smiled but Gabriel pulled me to him when Martin was about to hug me.

"You winked at her, and that's enough! No more hugs!"

"What?" Martin's asked with his round eyes as if he can't believe what Gabriel's said.

Nancy just chuckled and shake her head.

"Gabriel, it's just a hug." I said patting his hand on my waist.

"Okay fine, but just a hug and strictly NO kiss!"

"Whatever." then Martin finally pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. "Congratulations, Madi. I wish.. no, I hope you would always stay happy. And don't worry, I will always be your friend and your buddy. Just call me or text me if you need someone to talk, and I will immediately fly here from Colorado."

"Hmm.. you'll do that for me?"

"Of course! You know how much our friendship means to me."

Thank you, Martin. But we're still going to talk about our business there."

"Yeah, I know.

"Okay, that's enough. Five seconds are finally over!" Gabriel tapped his shoulder.

And he just rolled his eyes when he pulled back from our hug. I was also pulled immediately and Gabriel's arms wrapped around me from behind. He also kissed my cheek as he put his head on my shoulder. I looked at him and give him a peck on his lips.

After an hour of chatting and teasing, Nancy and I were both decided to prepare our food for dinner, while the two boys were left in the living room.

"Thank you, Sissy."

I stopped from cutting the vegetables when I felt Nancy's hand on my arm and I looked at her.

"Thanks for what?" I asked her with a smile.

"Thank you for coming again into my brother's life. I was just dreaming of this to happen before. That you and Gab will be together in the future, that he will move on from the anger he had towards his ex and that you two will finally admit your feelings for each other. And now it's finally happened. Thank you so much, Sissy, not just by waiting for him but for staying in love with him."

I smiled and patted her hand.

"Well, thanks to my heart. Because she choose to stay in love with your brother. He's my first love, you know. At the age of twenty-six, I fell in love and got my first kiss."

We both chuckled and continued what we are doing.

Saturday morning at Davis mansion in Colorado:

"Gabriel Wilsons, we finally met."

That was my father's first sentence when I introduced my husband to him.

"It is a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e meeting you, Sir." Gabriel said and he offered his hand for a handshake.

I can hear the loud beating of my heart inside my c.h.e.s.t while waiting for my Dad to accept his hand. I remember the last time I told him about our marriage and he went berserk. But this time, it's a different situation, and I guess my brother already told him our relationship status.

"I heard a lot about you, Mr. Wilsons." finally, he accepted Gabriel's hand but he ignored his greetings.

"You can also call me Gabriel, Sir." I noticed how tensed he is while talking to my father.

"Good. Gabriel, as I was saying I heard a lot of things about you. The well known 'devil' in the whole business industry in Chicago, and who owns almost sixty percent of state."

I don't know why my Dad needs to mention those things.

"The famous Gabriel Wilsons, top bachelor in his generations and the same man who offered my daughter a deal which ended into their being a couple. And who-----"

"Dad?"

"Honey?"

Chesca and I both snapped at him when he mentioned about our past deal. Gabriel was also stiffened on his seat when he heard my Dad's words.

"What? I'm just stating the truth." he shrugged.

"Yes, but as you can see, they were now okay. So, what's your point on mentioning the past if they're here in front of you with an intertwined hands? It's in the past, honey."

A small smile crept on my lips when Chesca started to blow up on him.

-'Thanks Chesca'- I silently send her through my smile and she winked at me.

"It's okay, Mrs. Davis." Gabriel said with an awkward smile.

"No, sweety. It's already given that you made those mistakes before, but what's important right now is that you also made all those things right. You learned your lesson and you chased for our Madi."

"Yeah, I-I am really sorry for all the tears that I've brought to your daughter, Sir." he faced me and he held my hand. "I know I've been a total jerk before and I let her go without her knowing about my feelings." he faced my Dad again. "But there's only one thing I can promise you from now on, Sir. I will never let go of her hand ever again. I will love her 'till my last breath and I will give her all the love and happiness that she deserves." he ended with a confident smile and kissed my forehead right in front of my father.

But my Dad remained quiet and just watched how Gabriel holds my hand. He sighed after seconds of being silent.

"Can I talk to you in private, Gabriel? Man to man and a father-in-law to his new son-in-law?" my Dad said as he stand and give him a signal to follow him in his study room.

"My p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e, Sir." Gabriel said and give me a peck on my lips before he follow my father.

When they entered the study room, I closed my eyes and sighed loudly in front of my stepmother. I heard her chuckled and she stand to shift her seat beside me. She takes my hand and gives me a motherly smile.

"It's okay, Madi. That's just your Dad's defence mechanism to fight his sadness inside. He's been also like that when your sister introduced Joey to him. But eventually he accepted the man. I have no doubts that he will also accept Gabriel. Bryan told us what happened to the three of you inside his bar in Chicago. And he's been laughing all the time when he started to tell us the story."

I scrunched my eyebrows. "He's been laughing?"

"Yes. He truly admired your husband's possessiveness towards you, that he could kill anyone who touches you. And by that time, I started to believe that this man really loves you."

I smiled after hearing her opinion.

"And we also heard his efforts of showing you how much he loves you, the flowers in your restaurants and all his dramas just to have you back again." she chuckled that caused me to become confused.

"H-How did you know that?"

"Your father sent some men in Chica----ohh!" her eyes widened.. maybe in realization that it's supposed to be a secret between them. But it's too late, she already spilt the beans.

"Haha.. you mean to say, 'my Dad' sent some of his men to monitor me and to know all the information about Gabriel."

"Oh sweety, that's not what he meant by sending someone to know what's happening about you. He loves you, and he's been also affected when you told him that you're already married. He just wants to make sure that you're in good hands with your husband and you're out of danger as well."

Well, I understand their reasons. But I also start to ask myself.. when do my parents will stop sending people to spy me around in my whole life?

"You know what I mean, you're not just a simple person Madi, having a simple life in Chicago. Because behind that lifestyle that you have, you are the heir of one of the biggest company in Florida, the daughter and sister of the top businessmen in Colorado and of course, you're the wife of a famous Gabriel Wilsons in Chicago. Your Dad can't afford to lose you. And trust me, because of that he can now sleep peacefully at night."

And because I don't know what to say, I just hugged her. She's been a second mother to me all these years. She accepted me and never showed me that I was just a fruit of her husband's mistakes in the past.

"Thank you Chesca, or should I say Aunt Chesca." I smiled at her when I pulled back.

"Ohh, don't mention it. You're also my daughter." she also gave me a smile.

We continued our chatting while waiting for the two men to finish their one on one talked.

Gabriel's POV:

I followed Mr. Davis inside the study room. I roamed my eyes inside and take a deep breath every minute while waiting for him to sit down and start our conversation.

"So, how are you, Gabriel?" I gulped when he finally seated in front of me. He gave me a glass of wine.

How would I answer that question?

"Ahm, honestly I'm nervous, Sir." I give a nervous laugh. It's true, I felt nervous for the first time since I entered their mansion.

"Hmm.. don't be, I won't eat you. I just want to talk to you."

I smiled at him. I know it's just a joke but I still can't help myself not to feel the tension inside the room. Or it's just me who's feeling tensed with man in front of me. Who is none other than my father-in-law.

"I admit when I came to know about your deal with my daughter, I really wanted to kill you." he seriously said while looking at me directly. "My daughter came here three years ago, broken-hearted and with swollen eyes. She told me that she fell in love with her husband, but she need to stop herself from loving him, because she said it was wrong. I asked her why and how it became wrong to love your own husband? But she answered me, that they were just married because of the deal, and her husband doesn't know about her feelings towards him. But then she explained to me everything."

He paused as he chuckled and shake his head.

"And because I am a parent Gabriel, for me it was all wrong since the very beginning. You offered my daughter a f.u.c.k.i.n.g deal! You asked her to marry you just to take your ex back? That was a big foul! A huge mistake and a total f.u.c.k moved! You used my daughter for your own selfish plan!"

I didn't mutter a word or didn't plan actually to say anything, because what he said were all true.

"But you know what because of that, you served as my living conscience. You made me think back of all the mistakes I've done before. That once in my life, I've also been in the same situation as yours. So I realized, who am I to judge you? Who am I to judge someone's mistake if I, myself did the same thing or more than that before?"

I smiled when he patted my knee.

"And I'm proud you Gabriel. How you accepted your mistakes and how you made all those things right. You never stopped chasing my daughter, I know all of it. And don't ask me how did I find out, because you're also a businessman and you already know what I mean. And you surprised me of all your efforts just to have her back. And seeing you right here with my daughter, you made me more proud of your actions, son."

My face instantly lightened up by hearing his last word.

"Thank you, Sir. You don't know how much your words mean to me."

"No son, I should be the one who must say thank you, for your being a man and for showing yourself here. Especially for loving my daughter and for taking care of her."

"You don't have to thank me for that matter, Sir. I love your daughter and I will do everything to make her happy. And of course, I'm apologizing again for all my mistakes that caused her in tears. But I'll promise from this day, that I will make her smile every day and every moment of our lives together."

He nodded and give me a smile of appreciation.

"I'll count on your words. But I just have one favor to ask, son."

"Yes, Sir?"

"Oh come on, just call me Dad. I already welcomed you to the family."

"Okay, Dad." I chuckled. "So, about your favor?"

"Uhuh! If it's not too much to ask, can you please make my daughter pregnant as soon as possible?"

My mouth fell in mid-air, but when it's finally registered in my head, I just found myself laughing together with him.

"You know, I'm getting old and I want you to give us many grandchildren as much as possible. My daughter is not getting any younger and so her father. So, start it right now as you now have my permission!"

I chuckled and nodded at him. We ended our conversation with a smile and light mood in both faces. When we headed back outside, we found Madi and Mrs. Davis in the kitchen.

And I can't help the happy and contented smile that formed in my lips when I saw how happy my wife is. Her laugh seems music to my both ears. She's busy on cutting the chocolate cake in the table and she didn't notice my presence even when I walked closer to her.

She gasped when she felt my arms wrapped around her waist from behind. I just chuckled and turned her around so she's now facing me.

"I love you, Mrs. Wilsons." I said and didn't wait for her to respond as I cupped both of her cheeks and sealed her lips with a passionate kiss.

"Huh! That's a breathtaking kiss!" her eyes were wide and her cheeks were on a shade of thousands of red tomatoes.

I laughed at her reaction and I pulled her into a hug. She hugged me back and lowly whispered to my ear, the words that I've been dying to hear every minute and every second of my life, since I realized how much I love her.

"I love you too, Mr. Wilsons."
