He Only Married Me To Show Her That He Already Moved On

Chapter 67 - sixty-seven: His greatest lost

Gabriel's POV:

I run towards to front door as soon as I stepped out of my car. I can't contain the happiness inside me and I am so excited to see my wife. I want to confess to her what I really feel, and share this good news at the same time.

"Love..."

I called her the moment I entered the front door, but the faces of our teary-eyed maids we're the first thing that came to my view. I ignored them as I called Madi's name. Since all of them were quite, my voice was echoing to the whole living wrong.

"Have you seen my wife?" I asked them and they all shared a look to each other. I didn't wait for them to answer as I run my way towards the stairs and knocked on her bedroom door.

"Madi.."

I knocked for the third times, but I didn't get any response from her inside. I tried to opened the doorknob and pushed the door only to find her room 'empty'. I checked the bathroom but she's not inside.

The creepy feeling starts to kick inside me as I walked towards her closet while still calling her name. But I was stopped in my trance when I found it almost empty. The clothes I bought for her remained on its hanger, but all her clothes she brought here the first time were gone. I opened the drawers to see they were also empty, the only thing you can find inside is the black credit card I gave her.

A cold sweat ran over me and my heart began thumping violently, almost painfully inside my c.h.e.s.t. I walked back inside the room and my eyes landed on the white long folder on top of her makeup stand.

I picked up the folder and I felt the world stopped and swirled around me...'divorce papers'. Her name was printed on the end of the paper with her signature on top of it. I gulped as I found myself seated at the edge of the bed.

Emptiness. I felt empty, so f.u.c.k.i.n.g empty inside. I tried to think back all that happened these last few days and it hit me. Her songs.. her tears.. they were all signs that she's leaving me, and I'm f.u.c.k.i.n.g fool not to recognized all of it.

I brushed my hair up through my fingers as I closed my eyes. I wanted to shout, I wanted to punch something and I wanted to cry. I didn't notice that I dropped the folder on the floor. And when I stand, I saw another white stationery together with the divorce papers scattered between my feet. My hands started to shake I recognized it was a letter from her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gabriel Wilsons;
I really don't know how to start this letter, but I hope you'll read it until its last word.
Sir, Mr. Wilsons.. first of all I wanna say thank you for hiring me as your personal assistant to the WEC. It's really been a challenge to me every day I bring you your coffee, especially when you're mood is foul and grumpy. I learned a lot from you, Sir.
Gabriel.. thank you for giving me the offer and deal to be your wife. I know we're just a fake couple, but I admit.. those days with you have been the most happy and memorable things that happened in my life. Thank you for giving me 'some firsts' in my life.. especially for stealing my first kiss.
A chuckle escaped from my lips. So, I was her first kiss.
To my friend Gab..thank you for sharing me some of your deep secrets in life and for listening to some of my weird stories. Thank you Gab, for being my friend even just in a short period of time.
And lastly to my husband for three months.. thank you 'love' and I'm sorry, if I may not be able to fulfil my promise not to leave you and support you 'till the end of your plans. Because as I promised to you from the very beginning... I will only help you to get 'HER' back into your life, but not for your revenge plan against her. If you still love her, pursue whatever you guys had before. Especially now that you're going to be a father again. Marry her, be her husband and a father for your second baby.
But if you don't love her anymore, moved on Gab. Let her go, let your heart be free from pain, hurt and disappointments from your past. Because the sooner you let them go, the sooner you let them go, the sooner your traumas would heal, and you will find the real meaning of happiness in your life. Don't make your life miserable just because you lost your first dream. And just because the past didn't turn out like you wanted it to, doesn't mean your future can't be better than you ever imagined. There were a lot of opportunities that will come into your life if you just let your door open for every possibility.
And lastly, this letter doesn't mean goodbye.. but it's a new beginning for the both of us. I already asked my lawyer for a copy of our divorce paper. I already signed my name and signature there and all you need to do is to sign and file it. Challenge accepted, and challenge fulfilled for Madi. You will always be a special part of me and I hope when we see each other again in the future, you are the new Gabriel Wilsons with a new hope and a new smile of happiness in your face.
Your employee, your friend and your 'fake wife', Madi😉😉😉
A tear of sadness rolled over my face, then it followed by next and next and it becomes a whimper. She's gone. She left me. I fall back in the bed with her letter in my hand and tears in my eyes. I looked up the ceiling as I felt the sudden feeling of being alone in my whole life. Her scent still lingered inside of her room, with her bed sheet and on her pillow.
I now realized the real meaning of emptiness and loneliness in one. I have never felt this way before.. not even when Stacey left me and chose Ray over me. I made a mistake once, and I made it again. I lost her, I lost my wife without even telling my feelings for her. I'm such a fool.
"No! It can't be! She can't leave me without explaining all this to me!"
I said getting up from the bed. I wiped my tears as I get my phone from my pocket and dialled her number. I run outside the door and made my way back to the living room where the maids still standing in where I saw them earlier. Madi's number is now unattended but I tried to dial it again.
"Anyone of you! Have you seen my wife this morning?"
I asked them in no particular but they didn't answer my question, they just shared a look again.
"I asked you a f.u.c.k.i.n.g question! Answer me! Has anyone of you seen my wife this morning?"
They all gasped when I started to snap. I don't have time for their dramas, I need to see my wife. I need to find her and my time is running.
"Sir..."
Elsa walked closer to me and gave me something which dropped my mouth and heart to the floor. Madi's ring. Her wedding ring. I looked blankly on it. I don't even know how to accept it.
"She wanted me to give this back to you, Sir. She said it doesn't belong to her and she doesn't have the rights to wear it."
I looked up to Elsa's face and I just found myself laughing bitterly. I closed my eyes as I brushed my hair up.
"F.u.c.k!"
I yelled and I punched the nearest wall that came to my sight. I can't take this. I can't take the pain. It tears me inside. Why now? Why it has to happen right now? When I know I'm ready to give my heart again? When I'm ready to forget my past?
"She's crying when she pulled her bag outside the door."
I heard Elsa's voice from behind and I turned around to see her in tears.
"Sir, I think she loves you. She said she just want to forget the pain inside this house."
"F.u.c.k!"
I knew it! She felt the same way for me. But I was such a f.u.c.k.i.n.g fool not to tell her my feelings. I was such a dumb bastard not to appreciate her efforts. I was a jerk not to recognized that I love her for so long. And now she's gone and I don't know how to find her again this time.
