Harry Potter And The Other Boy Who Lived

Well, I am the starting point for the formation of the trio. I am the first piece of a chain, without me this chain of events don't exist.

It all starts with my frail personality, typical of a traumatized boy, which makes the previous Neville win the empathy of Harry and Hermione. in addition to winning the dislike of Draco who sees me as worse than a muggleborn. Draco does not understand how a pure-blood wizard, belonging to the Sacred Twenty-Eight families like him, can be so weak and below mediocre.

All this culminates in the dispute of Harry and Draco in the class of flight. Harry tries to defend a boy bullied like him, faces Draco, wins, and is still chosen for the Quidditch team. It means that Draco suffered defeat after defeat, so he tries to take revenge by marking a false wizarding duel proposal with the intention of setting a trap for Harry. Then it is all as in the books. It is like a chain of events. Hermione tries to stop them, and ends up going along with them. They escape Draco's trap, but find Fluffy for the first time. They manage to escape again, but Hermione gets upset with their lack of regret of the boys. They stop talking each other. Hermione feels isolated by them and the other students. Harry and Ron save her from the troll attack, and then they become a trio, later strengthened by the events related to the philosopher's stone and Voldemort. That is, even this has direct relation with the accident of Neville in the class of flight.

That is, without a weak and traumatized Neville the whole chain of events is compromised, with a huge risk of not happening. Harry and Ron would continue to be best friends, but all other events are compromised. Jesus, I had no idea how much Neville served as an important piece in the whole story of the first book. He connects all points of the plot in the first book.

I have the power to keep history going the way it would happen in the books, but for that I would have to impersonate Neville, and I don't think it would be a good idea. I don't want to be such bad student, quite the opposite I want to impress teachers as I will need them to get stronger, and I don't know if I can act for so long. It would be hard to explain my huge improvement later too. Besides, I can't exclude the fact my grandmother may have told something to Dumbledore or some other person related to the first Phoenix' Order.

So I have no choice other than change the story, and that is a huge issue, because first year is when Harry changes from a bullied boy in to a brave and daring boy. He discovers how he relates to his parents (he has his mother eyes and his father's looks and talent in Quidditch). It is also the year he faces Voldemort and win consciously for the first time, a huge help in his journey against the Dark Lord.

The first year in Hogwarts is like Harry's first year of life. It is when he is really born. Born to the world that he really belongs to. So I have to try to replicate most of the events of the first year. After all, Harry is the one that should defeat Voldemort. The power of destiny brought me here, so I can guess the strenght a prophecy like the one Sybill Trelawney has made have. Harry has to face Voldemort and win in the first year of Hogwarts. It will surelly help to build up his confidence to fight against the same Voldemort later.

Harry's confidence is super important to his transformation. Thus He needs to transform his current fears in bravery and courage. So my goals should be to make Harry a seeker in his first year and face Voldemort and win. To do this I can replace Ron or Hermione, as this would help me guide Harry through the adventures he should live easily. Or I can try to enter into their group, turning the trio into a quartet, just like what his father had.

The first option is easier to do at first, but can lead to serious problems in the future. If I replace Ron. I would become Harry's best friend and support, but that would not maintain in the long run. I can't be Harry's support, because I have my own mission, we will walk different routes. Besides, I'm way stronger than Harry now, and the gap will keep increasing over time, especially in the early years. It may undermines his confidence as he still thinks of himself as a bullied kid nowadays.

Beyond that, Ron's importance lies beyond the fact he complemets Harry so well by now, it lies in the whole Weasley's family envolvement with Harry. They are extremely important in story. The Tom Riddle's diary in Ginny's hands. Peter is Ron's rat. The Marauder's map is with Fred and George. And Ron is after all a great and loyal friend for the most part. More importantly, his family is a huge example of what a family should be for Harry.

Ron fits more his characteristics and needs than me. Harry is a bullied kid with little confidence in the beginning. Ron is not a great wizard at all, as he can be less knowledgeable than Hermione, a muggle born, so Harry can feel way closer to Ron than to Hermione at first, for example. They both don't like to study and are more like to act first, to think later guys. I think I should keep it going this way. Harry needs someone similar to him to best adapt him to the wizarding world and needs to overcome his boyhood in which he suffered bullying and to become more confident. He is already brave enough, but today, he still don't think he deserves to be a famous wizard. He is afraid of having to go back to the Muggle world. He needs to turn that fear into courage. His adventures with Ron will help it a lot.

Replacing Hermione as the brain of the trio is the most practical and easy option, as my transmigration have already changed the chain of events that leads them in to being a trio in the first place. I would just have to sit with them in the train and build our friendship from there. It has two problems, the first one is the same with replacing Ron, as I have my own adventures to live, so problably I will not be together with Harry during all of his adventures and with no much brain, Harry and Ron are doomed to failure. The other problem is I have already made an appointment with Hermione in Hogwarts Express. I can't and I don't want to just ignore her. It would be mean to her and she could start to hate or resent me. I want her to at least, like me as a human being. And there is stll the fact Hermione needs to wake up her daring side. She is still very obedient and focused on rules. The Troll attack not only serves as a basis for her friendship with Harry and Ron, but also serves as a trigger for the awakening of her most daring and brave side. It is at that moment that she realizes that there are more important things than following rules. So if I ignore her who will help her develop this side of her?

The option of turning the trio into a quartet is the hardest to accomplish as it involves many variables. Just by describing the chain of events from the flight class and on, I know how much any small change could affect the whole story, so replicating the formation of the trio and turning it into a quartet will be extremely difficult. But it would fit my plans the best. I would be able to influence the most important decisions and I could also help Harry directly in his fight against Voldemort while I prepare for my own chalenges. But how the hell could I do that while at the same time, I have to accomplish my two goals related to Harry? I think I can't predict so far in the future by now.

About the goals related to Harry making him face Voldemort is a bit more doable since I know how to tackle all the security devices that protect the Philosopher's Stone in addition to knowing the day Voldemort is going to take action. Now, to make Harry become a seeker is going to be complicated.

I will have to think a pretty good plan. First, I will have to think of a way to get Madam Hooch out of class. Then I have to make sure Draco provokes Harry and I have yet to think of a way for Harry to make a maneuver on the broom capable of impressing Professor McGonnagal enough.

Worse still, he has to fly in a time when she's looking out the window or close to it and I have no idea when this moment happens.

There are a lot of variables here. I can't think of anything for now. If all goes wrong, I fake an accident, let my wallet behind and pray for the best. Quidditch is very important in Harry's life, when he flies he feels he belongs to the wizarding world. It is the only thing he does not need nobody to teach him, I have to get this for him.

Other than the goals related to Harry, I still have my own goals. Tsk, so many thing to worry. In addition to training, studying and looking for new ways to get stronger, I'll have to help Harry, Ron and Hermione to become the wizards they need to be to be able to fight Voldemort.

Yeah I think the quartet idea is the best. I should try to replicate it. It will be hard to work with so many variables, but this also gives more meaning to my life.

Just replicating the chain of events in the original story would be as if my transmigration was of no use. I did not come here to keep the story as it was written by J. K. Rowling. I'm here to save it. As I have already changed history by coming to this world, I will not be able to plan much ahead after all. At least now I am fully aware of my current objectives. It will be a busy school year.
