Forsaken By Love

Mo Yunhuang looked at He Lixue, but it was impossible to see what he thought. His eyes were examining every single inch of her face, every one of her reactions, as if searching for something.

"Why did you not come back?" Mo Yunhuang finally asked, and He Lixue raised her head. She was scared, but she was not going to back down. She understood that lying would get her nowhere, so she had to be brave. 

"I already died once for the Organization. I feel that I have paid back the lifesaving grace of that year. Now I want to live a normal life. The abyss was never made for someone like me."

"Live a normal life?" Mo Yunhuang chuckled. "Do you think you can live a normal life with your lover, Lu Nanfeng?

"He is a business legend, someone that everyone looks up to. He is the cream of the crop, and women who want to marry him can queue up from one end of the world to another. 

"While he is interested in you now, do you think that he will love you for the rest of your lives? Do you really think that he will not let you down with all that temptation outside?" 

The more Mo Yunhuang spoke, the more puzzled He Lixue became. She had not mentioned Lu Nanfeng, why was he so obsessed with him? Was there some sort of disagreement between the Organization and Lu Nanfeng? 

Shaking her head, He Lixue did not want to get caught in between a battle between two giants, but she was unwilling to hear someone talk bad about Lu Nanfeng.

"No one knows what might happen in the future," she said solemnly, "but as long as he is with me, I believe that he will not let me down. If we are no longer together in the future, then I have no right to tell him who to be with and how to behave, but as long as we are together, he will not let me down."

Mo Yunhuang's eyes turned more and more unpredictable the more He Lixue spoke. It was clear that he was very unhappy with what she had said. 

"Lixue, oh, Lixue," Mo Yunhuang smiled. "You don't seem to understand your position.

"I saved you when you were merely a small child. I gave you a home and an education. I gave you the chance to look after yourself. Now you want to turn your back at me? Don't you know that even a dog won't bite the hand that feeds it? 

"You might have had a short break away from me, but in the future, you can forget everything about leaving. You belong to me, and I am not keen on sharing my things with others, especially not with Lu Nanfeng."

Hearing his words, He Lixue was not too surprised. She knew that she was nothing more than a tool to Mo Yunhuang. He always thought of her as his belonging, and that would never change. 

This was also one of the reasons she had been moved by Lu Nanfeng. He had treated her like a human being; he had been so gentle towards her and even asked for her opinions on things. He had protected her and pampered her. He gave her all the things that she had never experienced before and her heart had been moved.

Taking a deep breath, He Lixue raised her head and looked at Mo Yunhuang. She gathered all her courage and said, "I am not willing to stay in the abyss." 

Mo Yunhuang's eyes narrowed when he heard her words, but then a slim smile adorned his lips. "I don't care what you want," he said casually. "You do not have to go back to hacking in the beginning, but don't forget that you belong to me. I am the only one who controls your life and death. 

"You do not want to come back to the abyss? Don't worry; you will not become a part of the Organization's main team again. I cannot trust you, so for now, the position of a prisoner suits you much better."

He Lixue sighed. She knew that it was impossible to change Mo Yunhuang's opinion, so she might as well just accept it. That being said, she was not going to become an obedient prisoner. 

After having experienced the free life of an ordinary person, after experiencing love and fulfillment, she had no intention of leaving behind that lifestyle. She was going to return to Lu Nanfeng's side, and she was going to make sure that no one would be able to go in between them in the future. 

Initially, He Lixue had planned on assisting her teacher, if he encountered problems, but now she was not pleased with the way he was acting. If he had allowed her to live life as she pleased, then she would gladly help him whenever he needed it, but he had kidnapped her, taken her freedom, and forced her to return to the abyss. 

She felt that she had already paid him back what she owed him. She respected him and feared him, but that did not mean that she would let him destroy her life. 

Taking a deep breath, her eyes, which had been full of fear, slowly settled down. It was clear that Mo Yunhuang had no intention of letting her go, so her future depended on herself and Lu Nanfeng. 

She had to somehow give Lu Nanfeng a message about where she was. She never doubted that he would do everything in his power to save her. Lu Nanfeng was the one she had identified as her lover, and she had complete faith and trust in him.
